Try this:

Once after EACH reset, open the Comm Manager and via "Settings" in the lower right-hand corner, open the the WLAN Manager. There, change the radio button to "Turn On Wireless LAN" and click OK. After that, you sometimes still need to turn on WLAN in the Comm Mgr, sometimes it will already be on and searching for an access point. From here on until your next reset, you can just use the Comm Mgr to switch WiFi on and off; no need to repeat this procedure.

actually i think i speak for most of us, when saying, don't try to draw attention to yourself by using a gigantic font.
the thing malkovich suggested is right. but actually you don't need to press ok, you can simply set it to turn on wlan, then you'll see the wlan pop up for a second, if it turns off again, just click turn on wlan again, although it is already selected, maybe even a third time, but then you will see the little wlan search in the taskbar.

if however, this does not work for you, make a -=hard reset=- (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_WM5_For_Beginners).

if that does not help, flash another rom.

and if even that would not solve your problem, either your hardware is broken, or you need to flash another radio rom or stick with wm2003.
but try the first things first. and next time please post in black and smaller, you drama queen ;)

there is no such radio rom as 1.50. check again, if maybe it is 1.15.00. that would be the newest. if you actually have 1.50 you screwed up your radio and should try and get something between 1.02 and 1.15 on the device.
what of my suggestions have you tried, probably just the switching on part, try a hard reset, since apparently that device is freshly flashed, you won't lose anything. maybe you forgot to do one after upgrading.

or have you tried re-flashing the same rom or another one?

when you go to start->settings->memory, what is the top left number, is it like 43.xx or 60.30?

and I do the hard reset camera + recorder + soft reset and the no yes yes
but nothing happen in fact in this rom the wifi does not turn on ever???

I try many roms before and some from them the wifi sometimes turn on but I lost the number of the build but in fact this rom is very stable and very fast but this wifi ...

my PDA2k:
Model no: PH20B the storage size is 60.30 MB the flsah size: 32 MB and the ram size 112 MB if these informations can help

If you do install the rom in this forum (Blue Angel), you can kiss your Omnia good bye. You will brick it, no questions asked.
Look for a forum dedicated to the Omnia and make sure that whaever rom you want to flash is made for this device.

I've just noticed one thing, I am using the HTC Home Plugin and when I set my BA to vibrate mode or silent mode the icon on the top task bar does not change to vibrate or silent mode. There were times it will sync if I put it in silent/vibrate mode but then it will return back to normal mode and when someone calls me my phone will ring.

I don't think it is a matter of S2U2. I believe that the problem lies somewhere else. I have always had this kind of issue with sun's roms where the phone radio just turns on by itself. You have to literally shut it off a bunch of times before it actually understands that you do not want it to be on in the first place. So far, no one has been able to answer that one to me...

Did you hard reset after flash? Also, you may want to try a different rom since sun_dream's rom is rather old.

Everything points towards the answer being "no" at this point. There is a lot of work that must be done in order to get WM7 in the BA. Moreover, if the rumors are true... I honestly don't think I will want WM7 in my BA anyways (everything controlled through the Zune software and no more homebrew software...thanks, but no thanks...)

So, this is a shell for a COM2 release?, if I replace this on a newer WMD or cOM5 build like 23529, everything will get messed up.

there is a dsm file in the shell folder in sys. simply dump that into the fix and it will generate a certificate.

That should be it. Unless of course, you want to start messing with the modules to add/remove things. As far as the location of the nbf, the flashing process will start by itself, but if you want to know where it is for any other reason, I believe it goes in a folder called "Update" (I haven't really played with sun's kitchen yet, so I am not certain, but if you look for it, you will certainly find it)

The short answer is that the battery meter in WM flat out sucks. The long answer is that there is a lag in the battery meter which you will notice every so often. Once you turn on your device, you may see that the charge will drop from 100% to 80% almost instantly and that is because it is refreshing the reading.

Have you read the starting guide by Chef_Tony (or the Wiki)? You have to make absolutely sure that you are unlocked and that you have all the needed tools to do an upgrade. As for your particular issue, remember that you have to put the BA in bootloader mode to flash it.

Yes i know, i´ve flashed with your rom and d-two´s, no problem, but for some reason I get that error with sun dreams rom.... could you upload your nk.nbf file for me please?

i think the problem is that you downloaded the kitchen and not just the actual rom, you can find the rom in the link in my signature (the "read first" one), then you have the nk.nbf that you need, without building it for yourself.

Did you follow "Step 1"?
"HTC BlueAngel WM6.5.3 28230 v2 WWE RK" folder must be placed at the ROOT of a DRIVE!
Otherwise, delete all previously extracted files and folders and start all over again from the top.

Let me add to your answer...

To add or remove packages to a kitchen is not a big deal. However, the BA rom size is only 32 MB, which will limit you pretty much down to core components of the rom. Adding apps is tricky (and many times impossible) due to size. Remember that for a rom to boot, you have to have at least 0001 of free sector.
To remove packages, simply erase them from the SYS folder before building the rom. Having said that, you have to know what you are doing since you can end up removing system core components, which would render your device acting funny (if it even boots).
This kitchen (IMHO) is great if you combine it with the rom porting kitchen by swampy since it allows you to cook newer roms and avoid some errors such as the ActiveSync bug, which sun seems to have fixed in this release.

Highly unlikely, but it may not boot and you will have to reflash a working ROM. The fact that you get a nk.nbf file doesn't mean that it contains everything necessary to get a running OS. You may flash the ROM and it will get stuck during boot. More likely, it will boot, but behave in all sorts of unpredictable ways. Thats part of the fun of debugging a ROM (and the reason that I don't cook my own :rolleyes:)

Yes, it can kill your BA!! BUT, if it does, you can always go back to a working ROM and reflash with that one and the BA will come back to life!!

Actually, it can run Android. Remember that the first Android device spotted out in the wild was a BA. In fact, the port is somewhere out there. Heck, I downloaded it the other day (haven't tested it though). If we can get someone who can port the drivers, we should be able to run this thing from the SD via HaRet. As far as hardware, we have similar power to the Vogue in the BA, and the Vogue has a near-perfect-fit for everyday use port of Donut at this point (myn's warm donut RLS4).

There could be a number of reasons. Did you add or remove any package from the SYS? Or maybe you tried to add a program that made the rom too large (usual reason why roms don't boot).

No, i didnt do something like that. I just extract the package and build the ROM like MandyFA tutor me yesterday, and flash it.

Something must have gone wrong during the building process. What OS are you using in your computer?
In any case, I would simply follow Chef's advice. If you are not trying to customize anything and simply want the rom, just download it from his signature.

There is a hack that came out a few days ago to make it completely transparent (with the exception of the buttons that is)... be advised this is a Hex hack and not simply a registry entry. Let me know if this would work for you and I will look it up :)

Couple of things. The RK file is the "Rom Kitchen" which is what you will need to cook the rom (which is already in there). If you don't know how to cook, I would suggest that you simply flash the already cooked rom (which I think is the other file that you got with a nbf extension). If you are unsure how to flash, please look at the tutorial made by Chef Tony.

One last thing... please modify your signature. There is no cursing allowed in this site since we have "youngsters" with fragile minds around :)

You can replace a few letters with special characters if you want.

You haven't unlocked your device, have you? And consequently, you haven't done the repartitioning of the Extom space.... right?

Take a look at Chef's tutorial. You need to start from the very beginning before you flash.

also, my tutorial states that the extrom is completely optional. this rom does not come with an extrom, meaning, you were to make your own extrom, and that is clearly for people upgrading their device regularly (ORD ;) ) to speed up the process of installing the same apps over and over again. i'd have to say, while making an own extrom is nice and really saves me some time everytime i flash, in your position i wouldn't know what to put into it. you should maybe try the different apps first, like the different browsers, office version, finger friendly keyboards... (coincidently all in my tut as well ;) ).

I'm sorry to correct you egz, but this is a known problem with no solution. There was a batch of Blue Angels that had a different chipset installed and on this specific model, the extrom can NOT be recovered and added to Program ROM. Unfortunately, 1 of my 2 BA's had this problem and I spent months trying to find a way of doing it to no avail. I finally just sold it and my remaining BA has no problem at all with this. The truth is that most cabs can be installed onto the SD so it isn't really a big deal. It is only limiting for programs that MUST be installed to main memory (like manila 2d).

First of all, thank you for all of your help and support. Okay I was finally able to update my rom finally. I was getting those error but a couple of things that I realize from Chef Tony site verse XDA tutorial on how to do update the Blue Angel.

1. For some reason I was having trouble upgrading the WM2003 to WM6.5 due to Windows 7. As soon as I used XP, I didn't have a problem.

2. On Chef Tony tutorial, he notes to use "Unhide" and then "Unlock" after format come back and "Hide" and "Lock"..... The "hide" and "lock" part isn't stated on XDA tutorial so on the second go around when I was doing it on XP I didn't do that.

I'm sorry to correct you egz, but this is a known problem with no solution. There was a batch of Blue Angels that had a different chipset installed and on this specific model, the extrom can NOT be recovered and added to Program ROM. Unfortunately, 1 of my 2 BA's had this problem and I spent months trying to find a way of doing it to no avail. I finally just sold it and my remaining BA has no problem at all with this. The truth is that most cabs can be installed onto the SD so it isn't really a big deal. It is only limiting for programs that MUST be installed to main memory (like manila 2d).

As long as you are correct (and you usually are), I don't mind you correcting me :)

First of all, thank you for all of your help and support. Okay I was finally able to update my rom finally. I was getting those error but a couple of things that I realize from Chef Tony site verse XDA tutorial on how to do update the Blue Angel.

1. For some reason I was having trouble upgrading the WM2003 to WM6.5 due to Windows 7. As soon as I used XP, I didn't have a problem.

2. On Chef Tony tutorial, he notes to use "Unhide" and then "Unlock" after format come back and "Hide" and "Lock"..... The "hide" and "lock" part isn't stated on XDA tutorial so on the second go around when I was doing it on XP I didn't do that.

I have 1.13. I had 1.15 for a while after it came out, but I shortly flashed back to 1.13 since I was having some reception issues.

Bootscreen... sorry, no go there. There is not known way to change this in any rom after WM5.

Themes? You can find those at the Dev&hacking section. There are plenty to choose from.

You are in the wrong section. This is for the Blue Angel. Go to the Universal forum and look for something to flash over there. Thanks.

Don't try to flash this on your Uni or you will brick it.

Na, I'm still around too. Don't use my BA very much but it is still alive and I do play with it once in a while.

i had 2 devices, a universal and a blueangel, and while i always used the blueangel for calling and writing sms, it was lacking a lot of features, which i compensated through the UNI, which i used for a2dp music, satnav and 3G, but due to its form factor and its bad speaker it was never an alternative for calling. now i switched to the blackstone, which can do it all.
so i gave the BA to my brother. still i am around on the BA section, after all, i still know this device much better than the blackstone, and so i still stand by for questions and i just started a new faq thread in the accessories section, which, btw. still needs a lot of work. i would appreciate, if you guys could also think of questions to be posted there and contact me via pm. i still have a lot of space in that thread and want to extend it over the next week, whenever i get around to do it.

Plenty of life here, my friend :). I am bootstrapped to a desk for most of my waking day, so I have nothing but time these days during work hours (thank god my company's proxy doesn't block XDA). I also know that the IT guy here has an EVO and has an account on XDA, so I know I can ban him if he starts acting up on me (looked him up by IP :D). Aside from that, my son keeps me busy during the afternoons and my wife is expecting our second boy sometime beginning of March next year. Also writing and managing the writers in the portal, which is literally my job around XDA nowadays :)
