Wish I could remove Microsoft voice command from this Rom, as my Nokia ck-15w will not display properly with it installed. I read in an earlier post that Abusalza will be leaving it out of future updates, and allow users to install it themselves if they wish. so hopefully v17 has it removed.

that sucks. I recently deleted the setup file BECAUSE this rom had it installed. All well. Looks like I'm going on a hunt to find it again. I'm not even sure what verison he had.....

I think there is one built into the PDAcorner. Pimbackup. I think it does everything you want but i havent used it so im not totally sure

u can use dotfred taskmanager to backup registry settings for people in m2d or launcher or whatever u want then restore registry settings its easy :cool:

From the first look of it, the ROM V17 appears to be fast and stable.

The only problem which I see of now is that all the ICONS are cramped and hence the labels for the icons are truncated.

Since SMSDRFix did not work in both V16 and V17-Beta, I suppose there is an issue with the SMSDRFix which comes installed with the ROM.

No problems so far, quick, clean and reliable.
Some new icons and a few extras, no major differences that I can see.
I have installed windows live, skyfire, tomtom7, slingplayer and a few other bits and all are working flawlessly.

Using hardSPL3.29 and radio 1.71.09.01

Any T-Mobile Customers try installing the MyFavs Cab and get this error:

"the file "My5App" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

on this ROM. I was able to install it without problem on the Hyperdragon ROM, but always get this error on this ROM v15 v16 and v17 tested.

suggestion: Install Resco Explorer to browse files, its a realy nice application.

No bugs has been found yet.

Upgrade from v16 (best HTC rom to-date). Initially feels exactly like v16 but with the following fixes:

- fixed bug: sporadic wake-up (white screen);
- newer version of internet explorer;

If you feel program icons are too squeezed, edit icon spacing registry key:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/IconConfig
Adjust as needed -- this setting works for me: Horizontal 75, Vertical 62

Syncing with vista, bluetooth AS, exchange server push mail all work same as v16.

During the past 10-days, I've had outstanding battery life on my 14-month old kaiser & original battery, >40% by 10pm every day. Using HardSPL3.28 and radio 1.58.25.17. In case battery life goes back to pre v16 performance, I'm hanging onto the v16 ROM.

v17 is definitely faster than v16.

v17 is missing Battery percentage.

v17 also cuts off music when power button is pressed.

v17 icons are much closer together than v16.

v17 seems pretty stable, but as rock hard as v16 is, I am going back until the real WinMo 6.5 is out.

v16 is an awesome rom hard to go to anything else. Great work Abu.

Intenta cambiar la Radio, ponele la 1.65.24.36 ,esa anda bien. Sino te anda llegate por la seccion de Developent & hacking, que ahi sale como arreglar el problema del weather.

Consejo, si arreglas el problema no borres todas las ciudades del weather por que sino despues te da error al intentar descargar datos. Siempre deja al menos 1 ciudad nunca sin nada. En elt touch Flo 3D y 2D dan esos problemas.

PD: Soy de Argentina cualquier cosa pregunta en español ya que si no te puedo ayudar traduzco lo tuyo y lo reenscribo en ingles, para que el resto de la comunidad te ayude.

Abusalza, have you moved on from the older 6.1 line for good? I tried v16 but quickly reverted when I saw the flashing backlights while looking forward to a new version with that fixed. Trying the 6.5 hybrid could be fun I suppose, but I'm more into stability right now.

Wow Abusalza, I really like this new hybrid version you've put together for us. Feels and works very well, congratulations job well done.

The only thing I have changed is the icon spacing, just for my own tastes. I set the horizontal and vertical spacing to 75 pixels each.

Like Opera Mobile Well, I only noticed that when I sent my first couple of texts it sent doubles, but that stopped after 3 texts and may have been my phone not the ROM! I never use Opera 9.5, I only use Opera mini 4.2, but so far that works great! MMS is working, SMS is working, partial landscape in M2D, weather works perfect, calls work perfect, everything is very fast! Dont use exchange server so cant test. Need any more info? Let me know! :)

First Thx Abusalza for this great fast rom. I have been having some issues with v.17 as far as the stock IE that comes with it (besides PIM taking forever to restore.) The issue I have is with zoom. I can't just double tap on the screen to zoom in....which isn't that much of a prob but when you have to hit zoom out to zoom in and gives you the selection box of where to zoom...ok no prob but if you are zoomed in and you click in a text selection box it zooms out all the way and you can't read squat. Have tried this with several different pages plenty of soft resets and tried some other radios and of course I had previously hard reset after installing the rom...but no luck. Any1 else have this issue?

I found this peculiar thing with V17. Even though I had run the connection setup, the phone by default try to use the connection "Media Net" to connect to the internet.

I had to manually disable the "Media Net" using NoData to get the phone to use the actual connection which is required to connect to the internet.

Its actually not an issue but I thought I should mention it.

Every new one is better than previously. It was reported 2 pages back that the flashing backlight issue was fixed in this release. In addition, alarms now correctly display in front of a locked devices keypad and may be turned off as per original design. Despite this rom's 'beta' tag, it's hardly that -- more like a bug fix version for the outstanding v16. Still testing battery life....

I would suggest Abu to make a post once he uploads a new version of PDAUltimate ROM and then along with the download link for the ROM, he should also mention the page on which he had made the first post for that particular ROM. I just installed G-Alarm. What version are you using? I'll try to see if the problem you describe comes up.

About I-nigma I was wondering wether the application works for you. Mine does start up, but it does not use the camera correctly. it launches the camera app. instead of using it in the application, so I can not scan any barcodes. Is it just me or does everyone with this rom has that problem? That is my question :).

In my ROM experiences, it has always put a capitol letter after you put a period and then space.

Just tested on V17 and you need to put the space after the period. Won't capitolize the letter if you do not add the space.

I flashed V17 but i cant get my contacts loaded. Just loads my wifes and not mine. So im guessing that somehow im using the exchange server or something since with all the roms ive flashed i havent had this issue before :eek: Im going to flash back to 16 to see if i can get my contacts back and figure something out. After you have extracted all the files in "PDACornerUltimate.V17.WM6.5Beta.rar" to a folder, you have to run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe". The installation proceeds the way it does when you run "KaiserCustomRUU.exe" in the previous version of ROM.

there is no option to choose colors u must edit the images in the windows directory on a computer then overwrite the ones in ur phone with ur newly colored images

From your sig I see you are using Tilt. You need the Tilt keyboard fix. Sorry I don't have a link in front of me but it will not be hard to find, just search here or Google.

Downloaded v17 last night and I have a few thoughts regarding the chef's new release...

1) In terms of stability and speed, it keeps in succession with his latest releases as it improves with each new ROM. It is very zippy in terms of manuevering with the Manilla tabs, the menus and such.

2) Battery life, at least for me, has gotten consistently better with each new release and, for me, this one is no exception. I have had the phone on today for about 9 hours checking email, receiving texts, updating the weather and surfing on Opera Mini and the battery is now down to only 80%...

3) No issues with SMS, emails, backlight issue, etc.

For me, this is one of the chef's most impressive ROMs, considering the fact that he has cooked in the Windows 6.5 beta (which I had heard from several places can be extremely buggy). Accolades to the chef are well deserved.

However, I have seen some slight bugs and wanted to know if this is something across the board or just specific to my device (bad flash, maybe?). Internet Explorer is basically unusable for me (not that I use it much anyway). When it launches, the text is extremely small and toward the upper right hand corner. I have it set for Mobile, but it still does not work. The one program I use it with is Weather Watcher 1.0.12 and, because the text is so small, the program is now unusable to me. I will try to upload a screenshot later so you can guys can see my issue (at work right now:().

The second issue I see is the inability to highlight multiple items in File Explorer. Usually, I can drag the stylus over the multiple files I wish to copy and paste, but I can no longer do this. I would have to highlight, copy and paste each file individually.

I will continue to test to see if there are other issues, but quite frankly, I have not seen any others yet in a day and a half's worth of use. Those minor issues not withstanding, great ROM. I am a PDA junkie!!!!!

yessss... That is the NORMAL behavior. If you do not leave a space, the program will assume you are typing a long word with 'period" as a letter in that word.

That's the problem. The program starts every time I restart my device, even if it says not in the menu. The option says "Press to diable when start", you know what I mean, but the task manager starts any way. But yes, you can EXIT every time. Nice feature? Eeehhh:confused:

First off, the internet explorer problem:

Yes, I am having the same issue. This I believe is the new PIE and it is not working as it should. This new version is supposed to zoom in like opera does when double tapped on the screen.

Second, the highlighting many files:

I have the same issue, but my workaround is to press CTL (Control) and select each file or to select the top file and press shift and then select the bottome file which highlights everything between. I then use the shortcuts (ctl + x, cut--ctl + c, copy--ctl + v, paste) to do what I want with the files.

Remember, this is still considered a beta even though it has been cooked. Abu has done great work with what Microshaft has given him to work with!!

The new PIE is annoyingly unfriendly -- scrolling from link to link using the d-pad works on some, not on others. As I prefer the old version of PIE, I did a search and found this cab -- thanks marcosorano!

When you start GPSTest, the GPS settings are wrong, they need to be 4800 and Com4. Maybe an idea to change this in the rom?

Also maybe an idea to remove your internet settings when you make the rom, because we can not do anything with your internet settings :).

Maybe an idea to put the Google maps icon in the Navigation folder? Now it is just uncategorized?

Please keep the new IE, because I want to try it out when V17 will be real. Maybe make a poll later to decide such questions.

Hello, i write you some day ago about touchscreen problem but now, with v17, i think it is a best solution to use this phone:

SPL V3.56 - 1.59.44.02 (From Polaris)

The phone during a call is very stable and clean and it is working very fast with a greate stability! Finaly with S2U2 "Black Screen during a call" function i have solved all touch problem (i open a lot of application during a call).

Alternative to M2D: ifonz with a good calendar, contacts and so on it may be a fast and stable alternative for your distribution. In my phone it work fine.

I'm not sure why you are not allowed to change any ROM here, you have no signature showing your SPL, radio, etc ....but it is most likely that your problem is unsuitable radio related. Chef suggests of flashing radio 1.65.24.36, but I am using 1.71. without any hesitation - what radio are you using now?

Try to drag your stylus 45deg down when selecting files, will need to learn the pressure though as not to drag the whole screen down ...it will do the trick ;)

Is this somewhere related to bluetooth module. In V15 even though the music continues to play on phone even after the power button is pressed, it used to stop if the music is playing through bluetooth and the power button is pressed. I haven't tried playing the music through phone on V16, but the music through bluetooth continued to play even after pressing the power button.

In V17, the music through bluetooth works fine. It continues to play even after power button is pressed. But I did observe that it stops playing through phone after power button is pressed.

1. The System Status screen (when you tap the icons at the top of the screen), is that an exe somewhere? My goal was to map that to a hardware button.

2. When you create an email account, does that information get stored in the registry somewhere? Its a pain to have to set up four email accounts after every flash. Be so nice to just copy registry values over.

Great Rom. It is much faster than the V16 and has improved battery life.

I am having two weird issue with it that I did not see in V16:

- My bluetooth headset does not seem to re-connect. I have a Motorola H700 and when you open the mike boom it is supposed to re-connect and allow me to answer - sadly it does neither.

- Another bluetooth issue is that when the headset is connected (after a re-pair) the phone application does not default to hands free - rather you have to go to the options screen and enable the hands free option.

Has anyone else seen these issues?

Other than these 2 issues it is a great ROM - great job Chef!

Not sure if I'm alone on this, but I prefer this battery meter for 17 and for future iterations as it's generally more accurate and don't find myself monitoring the percentage left especially when the number is not always accurate; reads 26%, soft reset, then reads over 60%. Your not alone, not only does it look better, i think a constant reminder of battery life is enough to kick of paranoia, useing batti alongside the new battery meter serves more than it's purpous :)

For those who want to see battery usage without having to edit reg etc, batti is a good choice as you can see from pics.

It's constant on top and if clicked on the bar you get to see %

I'm using Batti 2.2 on V15 Full of the ROM. Since I've installed it, the message area in the top bar works a little differently: It used to be if I had one message item (an email notification, appointment reminder, missed call, whatever), I would click the bar, click the icon, and then see the message. If I had multiple messages, I'd click the bar, click the icon (which was a single icon that represented "multiple messages waiting"), and then below the bar, I'd see the different icons for the different messages queued up.

Now, the behavior is: Whether I have one or multiple messages, I click the bar, click the icon (the multi-message one), and then below the bar, I'd see the different icons for the waiting message(s). It's not a big deal, just a little annoying when I only have one item waiting for me.

Is this a V15 thing with Batti? Or is it Batti 2.2?

I'm Southern US AT&T and radio wise I used to use 1.59.44.02 on older versions of PDA Corner (best battery life).

Before I flashed V17, I flashed the stock AT&T ROM with 1.65.21.18 radio included and so far that radio hasn't given me any problems at all.

Been using V17 for a little bit now and must say it is a GREAT rom!

Just a few inquires:

1. The System Status screen (when you tap the icons at the top of the screen), is that an exe somewhere? My goal was to map that to a hardware button.

2. When you create an email account, does that information get stored in the registry somewhere? Its a pain to have to set up four email accounts after every flash. Be so nice to just copy registry values over.

But other than that, GREAT work on v17!!

Not normal, go for a hard-reset if not sorted reflash if still an issue refresh your device by flashin stock ROM first.

2). Puerto Rico weather in Manila don't update. Example, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico etc...

I do a hard reset after flashing the rom. Also I flashing the stock rom before upgrade to V.17 but don't fix the problems.

I did the whole stock, then flash etc and have the power button "issue?" not always prominent and think it's something we just have to get used to with the newer ROMs, no bigge considering how fast and sweet the ROM is. :)

Abu, thanks for your quick reply and help. I did "uncheck the automatic time change" in phone settings. That did not fix the problem. So then I went to the clock settings. I am in Central US time zone, but I randomly chose a different time zone to see if it would change all my calendar entries. I chose Arizona and it did change. So, then I changed it back to Central US and magically all the times were fixed. Just wierd that initially the only appointment times messed up were those after the next DST change in March. However, all is good now. I love your work and have been a loyal quiet fan for a long time. Many thanks from Oklahoma.

Wasn't until a little did I remember that it did not work a few days earlier. Only thing I can remember doing in that last few days is pairing bluetooth device (AD2P stereo receiver/headset) and confirming that music carries on playing via headset. I have done a (soft) restart since, but can't remember making any other config changes.

Not asking for help, offering info that maybe of help to chef????

When you start GPSTest, the GPS settings are wrong, they need to be 4800 and Com4. Maybe an idea to change this in the rom?

Also maybe an idea to remove your internet settings when you make the rom, because we can not do anything with your internet settings :).

Maybe an idea to put the Google maps icon in the Navigation folder? Now it is just uncategorized?

Mines the same thats why i said not prominent, if using device doesn't do it but a long sleep and it can do it, even that has been very little mount of times.

from what I've read there's some Diamond.tsk file in the Windows Directory that makes the flat black bars. Maybe just maybe from my guess it can be hacked/edited to change the color. Who knows and you're very welcome. I got jealous over my roommates T-Mobile Wing and having a Touch Screen that I just had to get a Tilt lol... Still have my Dash though and it has 1.7 on it. Probably gonna give it to my gf at some point...

I've notice when I am USB connected, sometimes my weather won't be able to update, also my e-mail accounts can't sync, but also dont know if this is a new Win7 Beta bug or MyMobiler Bug or to do with the new ROM. I have Data Connection enabled through WMDC...

Yeah its driving me crazy. I have done a hard reset and installed my apps and tested the problem. As soon as i installed opera and soft reset and plug in my cable the sounds stops working.

That's a weird issue, I sync'ed my tilt with my computer and I could play music and hear the sound on games I played. I have Opera 9.5.2808 installed so maybe it's just something with that version only.

Here is the link to the Opera update file (http://www.4shared.com/file/82873702/b2070ed3/Opera_update_to_2808.html). As long as you have Opera 9.5.2745 this file updates to v9.5.2808. I don't know how well it would work with earlier version, but that doesn't matter in this case anyway. Hope this fixes the problem for you.

I get sound but i cant update weather or get online. Even when connected through wifi. It only happens when synced. I dont use opera either. I just use skyfire so i know thats not my issue. All my sound does work though. I also tested with just the rom with none of my apps installed and it still did it.

Overall this is an excellent ROM. I have one small problem, which I don’t know is it me or happens to others as well. My GPRS connection (internet) does not work for weather, Google maps or any other cooked applications. When it comes to 3rd party app that uses GPRS for internet connection I don’t have any problems (SPB Travel, Garmin online). When I use Wi-Fi everything works just fine (cooked and 3rd party). I set my connection right including proxy settings.

Try the Opera Mobile i posted link to back a bit in thread it does need to be installed to device memory but has no issues and is the fastest version available :)

No problems with sound, data connection with programs or connecting to internet via activesync.

Windows Media stops playing when power off. Pair with A2DP stereo headset and WM stops when powered off. Soft reset and now WM plays when powered off through A2DP headset, speaker and wired headphones.

Does that give you any clue? Hope it's helpful.

Same to me. I am now using Minimo instead.

By the way, what is the different between WM6.1 and 6.5? I found the only different in v17 is the PIE 6.5.

If you go backwards on the thread there are some answers, it's due to the reg and the rez size but have found that not really a cure as we have 2 rez sizes portrait & landscape, i reverted back to original PIE someone placed the link, mind you i use Opera Mobile too as a better browser :)

Hey abu, love your PDA Corner ROMs, but v17 isn't doing it for me. Runs a bit slow for my taste. It could be due to the 'hybrid' WM 6.1/6.5 kernel. Gonna stick to v16 in the meantime. Still gotta show love to ya tho. :)

2 New issues,

1) I have notifications set to both make sound and vibrate for e-mail, sms, incoming call, voicemail, etc. Sometimes the device will not stop vibrating until another notification goes off.

2) Just had to Soft reset, because all of a sudden my device wasn't recognizing either A/C adaptor I have or my USB Sync Cable for charging purposes and my Cell couldn't connect to any T-Mobile Connections (Data, MMS, WModemLink). It would just keep retrying to connect giving a failed to connect error. After soft reset the problem resolved itself...

Nice job, works well with lots of nice apps. Moved from Dutty, to Athine ME (for a short while) to HTC official 6.1 and now to V17 beta.

I had the double power button press issue with Athine and intermittently with HTC 6.1. I am also finding tis with V17 beta. I am also finding that some of the program and other icons almost need a double tap to get them going, also sometimes and not always.

Also, tried to install a new keyboard cab which required a soft reset, on boot up the phone did not get past the HTC logo. A soft stylus reset also did not work and eventually had to do a full reset.

Has anyone else successfully tried another keyboard?

Did you flash stock previous, did you hard-reset after flash? Just strange as i have none of the issues including your previous post, only thing is the power button have to hold in after long sleep "To which isn't really an issue and tends to be this way on most new ROMs".

I tried yours last night and got same problem with b16bs'. yours cant identify the tele2 Ch and always switches to Sunrish Ch. after several times plug in and unplug the simcard, still doesnt work with Tele2 gprs.
could you give me any help?
Btw your rom is really fast and many good softwares within.

I did both, maybe there's an issue with "MyMobiler"... Will have to uninstall it before flashing the next version.
