Something lost in the translation there. I'm referring to the Live Search application which you have on all of your 6.1 & 6.5 ROMs. It's a stand alone app, not a widget, like Google Maps. The version you've been having on the ROMs is the last version of Live Search released, but it's a little outdated. Microsoft quit calling it Live Search. It's now called Bing. I only ask because I always install Bing on your ROMs, but I can't remove Live Search since it's cooked into the ROM.

I would say just integrate the latest software as integrated into x2.v10 without the specific wm6.5 apps / tools. every rom made by you are great. would be great to install the latest Mega dailer.

one request, is it possible to integrate M2DC into the rom, and keep callfirewall?

I would like to try the D3D drivers with default kernel. I went from Stock 6.1 to X2.V9 so I have never used them. Either way I have been wanting to move back to 6.1 and look forward to this release! :D

I tried a 6.1 rom (3LIT3) recently from chavonbravo(?) that had the new EZInput from the Topaz. I liked the haptic feedback (vibrations) and simulated keyboard clicking sounds as well as the semi new layout. It's so much better I was wondering why no one else seems to be including it in their roms.

Could you include it in your rom or perhaps post the cab (if it exists!)on your thread?

I like your v7 cuz of the lack of super ram hack. The animations in M2D are soooo much smoother when used in conjunction with gfx boost. So that's my preference. :)

Also, I liked how you included the option for the stock task bar icons (white).

One last thing. I prefer the stock weather images as opposed to the custom ones you usually include in your roms. I don't know if you've gotten any other feedback on it, but it just seems a little more tidy and clean with the original images. Again, if you include it in the rom awesome, if not, could you advise how I might change them back to the originals?

That's my vision of the perfect rom pretty much. I'm sure I could I could get much more detailed but I would be so grateful just for your consideration in these things. I as well as probably everyone else here would agree, am very privileged to receive the benefits of your dedication and skillful unselfish work.

you can do that on your own just by replacing the images. Its real simple. I have my open custom theme based on several others that i combined.

Abu, on the mega dialer, can you make sure all the buttons link up correctly. in TPC Roms where he has the Mega Dialer, he somehow was able to get all the buttons working. so if you press the contact square on the right side, it opens open the contact instead of dialing it. Plus the left softkey where it says contact doesnt seem to link up properly.

Here is a pic of what I meant. The bottom left soft key which is contacts, doesnt do anything. This only shows up when the dialer is open so the link is not properly set. If I were go out of the dialer, the soft keys would change to what ever they are set up to on the today screen, but that works fine. As for the right contact icon where the contact is as shown in the pic, if I were to press it, it would go to the contact details and not dial, again this is only working in TPC's ROMs with the mega dialer. Somehow he got it working properlly.

No you have to turn off Touch Flow in the Today settings or install Second Today and link it to a Hard Button.

When I press the power button on the Kaiser the backlight does not completely turn off... It's kinda dimmed a bit but the screen is still active (meaning touchable) ...

When I keep pressing the power button the xdaShutdown menu comes up... and when i click the sleep button the screen starts blinking... Kaiser trying to turn its backlight off but cannot...

Also Kaiser can neither turn the backlight nor itself off automatically when not used...

Switching betw. backlight and sleep from the xdaShutdown's menu won't do the trick...

I noticed xdaShutdown v1.00 came with Ultimate-X.v9 and updated to v1.01 but that didn't solve anything...

I tried removing xdaShutdown too... keeps asking for xdashutdown.exe afterwards though...

any help is appreciated 'cause I cannot carry my Kaiser in my pocket now :(

Not having any of those issues, Power button turns off backlight and xdaShutdown works as it should. Sounds like a bad flash, try flashing again.

This has to be the best 6.1 ROM I have ever used. With the current SPL and radio, the battery lasts pretty long for me and the mega dialer and other new stuff is working as they should be. I am a happy camper right now. Thanks again

No problems here. Been using it all day. Great battery life, signal strength, speed, and Internet Connection is more stable than any other version. The only issue i am having and its not really an issue just the missing Bluetooth icon in the title bar. Everything else is perfect. Another Fantastic ROM Abu.

You need these bmp's in \windows\ directory. These aren't the best ones but all I had and it will give you the file names you can search for to find ones you might like better.

After a bit of tinkering -also reflashing and hard reset - i figured out the cause of the problem that I was experiencing... SPB Mobile Shell 3.06 was causing all the trouble ... Upgrading it to v3.1 solved the problem...

So nothing's wrong with Abu's ROM... It is working fine like you said...

Mobile Shell 3.06 was working great with PDACorner Ultimate-X.V8 though...

Anyways I'm enjoying this great ROM now...

I've been using your ROMs since version 4. Really great work. Thank you very much. One of the best things in your ROMs are the organizing of the folders. Really love to see how the programs, games and settings are separated. When trying a WM 6.5 ROM I could not find my self. Do you think it could be possible to have the kind of start menu from WM6.1 in WM6.5? It would be a blessing.
And, concerning your 6.1 ROMs, my only issue is: I can't change some settings. It is like some changes do not "stick". The main problem is that I can't make my fone NOT wake when sliding the keyboard. It is funny because it is already set to "disabled" in advconfig.

Active sync running will not kill battery and only consumes a tiny ammount of RAM, hide it from TaskManager and you wouldn't even know running.

Opal dialer can be installed via .cab it's attached on -shifu- WM6.1 thread first page soft-reset before install so no processes being used.

Have you tried the Tilt Keyboard Fix.cab? Its posted on the first page 2nd or 3rd post i believe.

Weird you are correct. It does the same thing for me.

This rom is very slow...

This is the fastest ROM out there in my opinion. You either have the wrong combination of SPL and Radio or you had a bad flash. I would try again.

2) Cannot get Opera to work. Tried the version in this thread and the latest download from the Opera Mobile website. The version in this thread causes the phone to hang completely, meaning I have to soft reset. The version from Opera just hangs at the splash screen :(
3) Spell-check no longer works, as the skinnign of the menu's means you can no longer see which word is being highlighted by the spell checker

Have you tried a different Radio. I go the whole day without charging and i'm definitly on it all the time.

Also noticed this morning, the alarm doesn't sound if the screen isn't on....Five minutes after my alarm was due to sound (it didn't go off!), it turned the screen on to see what happened and it immediately sounded. :(

Best ROM I've used so far except for battery drain. Dunno what's up with it but it drains like crazy when I use the phone (playing kevtris and listening to music).

Idle stand by battery time seems unchanged though.

It's so good that it's worth it though. Guess I just have to charge it more often! :D

Don't just hide it you from TaskManager will never even know it's there, there are tweaks on the forum but none are a surefire ;)
Active sync has no effect on battery and only uses up a tiny ammount of memory.

I finally manage to install U-X-V9 and have been using it since this morning. I must say looks very good so far, its great ROM, I have not encountered any problem so far, I tell you more as I continue testing and setting all the apps that I normally use.

I have done multiple soft resets since I installed V9 this morning and have not once faced the problem you mentioned. Over the past few month to the best of my knowledge I don't remember anybody using SPL 3.29 successfully. I would suggest to install SPL 3.34 then hard reset your device and see how it goes. Further more you did not mention what ROM you were using before, if it was a WM6.5 then I would suggest to go through the whole process of installing a stock ROM then hard reset and then install this ROM (thats what I did even though I was not on a WM6.5, my previous ROM was UX-V8), I must say that this ROM is working beautifully on my device with very good speed.

For me Opera is not working as well. I tried to install Opera 9.7 beta; this version worked perfectly on Ultimate-X.V7 but on X.V9 it simply hangs at the Opera splash screen.

As I use Opera daily, I would really like to see this fixed.

Yeah I had the MSN problem too... I couldn't get it to work even with re-installing MSN. I'll try a different build later on tonight. I thought it might be a network selection issue, or a something that could be fixed with a regEdit, but haven't seen anything yet. Maybe I'll look for more MSN issues on other boards here and see it that leads to a quick fix, as I'm sure its something simple..

I did notice that for some reason that the WiFi doesn't seem to turn off (touch flo) settings>Communications> WiFi, or at least the , icon stays at the top & light still blinks as such, and you must goto settings>Connections>WiFi and check/uncheck the box there.

This may be why some noticed a quick drain on their battery. Other than these few issues, the rom is sweet and solid. I'll add more input, as to look forward for the superram ver. Good job on the ROM abusalza , keep it up :D

1> have you checked to make sure your WiFi isn't turned on?
For some reason it doesn't seem to want to turn off unless you goto settings>Connections>WiFi and check/uncheck the box there. That should save you some juice

Thanks for a great work indeed, I just have one issue: The ring level gets set to the lowest automatically all the time. I go into the volume settings and set it up, and next time I look it's at the lowest. System volume works fine. Tried to search this thread and all I found was an hotfix for the Elf?

:cool:I have been using UX-V9 for 4 days and I must say that THIS ROM IS A KEEPER. I have not experienced any kind of issues what so ever. Truly a master piece created by a master. Congratulations Abu for a GREAT ROM.

It’s a very fast ROM with many good features and no freezes, but the best thing I like is the battery consumption. It only goes down by 5% for about a 10 hour stand by time and whole day of normal use (few phone calls, some net surfing, and a game or 2) drains it about 25 to 30 percent, this is the best result I have so far on the battery usage and I had experimented on many ROMs with multiple radios and SPLs

The only thing that I wish would have been different is that battery status page or icon (what ever you like to call it) I would like to see a percentage icon instead of the block version that Abu uses in his ROMs so that I don’t have to install it separately and take up my ROM space but then this ROM had a lot of space to install what ever I like and lots of available RAM for multi-tasking.

Great work Abu, THANK YOU VERY MUCH and also THANK YOU for remembering that you said that you might give out a V9 for the Ultimate series of ROMs. GREAT JOB BRO IT IS REALLY A MASTER PIECE :D :cool:

My current radio and spl is mentioned in my sig. I think SPL 3.34 is the best for our Kaisers but radio depends on your location and service provider. To find the radio most suitable in your location you may have to try out few, other radios that gave me better performence are 1.65.30.09, 1.65.21.14.

As long as what you have is a 6.1 compatible radio and not the patched radio that was flashed to your phone when you unlocked and Hardspl'd.

Test out a few radios and see which one works best for your combo

Hi guys.
I have the V9 rom. I wanted to change the taskbar icons and messed around with 2 icon packs. I eventually did not like them so I uninstalled them and put Pdacorner Colour icons back in.
Since this all happened, while in a call, whenever I rotate the volume wheel, the volume starts from 0 and goes up. What I mean is that if the volume is, say, at 50%, if I want to increase it and rotate the wheel, it will first go down to 0 and then go up again. This is all without me reducing the volume. The volume instantly resets to 0.
Do you know what I could do to repair it?
I also installed sdkcerts.cab for the icon packs I tried, if this is important.

As many others have said already this is a great ROM. However, I have had some stability issues with it and wanted to inquire about methods to fix the issues or figure out if there is something indeed wrong with my phone.

The problem/symptom:
The ROM runs FLAWLESSLY (best ROM I have used to date), but after about 3 days I will attempt to open a program using the launcher and nothing will happen. Basically the phone becomes unresponsive to launching anything. The interface can still be scrolled, I am not sure if calls can be made, as I haven't tried once the phone/ROM reaches this state. My yahoo email account was still able to send receive, but my Outlook/exchange account said there was an active sync error (code x80000 something). Using the hard button mapped to the connections screen also causes an error that states it cannot find the setup for the key. My next step is to turn off the phone or do a soft reset. Turning the phone back on or booting back up from the reset ALWAYS results in the boot/loading process stalling at either the PDACorner screen (displays radio/rom id #'s) or at the Black HTC screen. From this point the phone will never actually get past these screens, it just sits there, seemingly frozen and I have to remove the battery to turn it off. And thus begins the cycle.


I have hard reset the phone from this point twice with the same result after a few days, and also REFLASHED the ROM once in hopes that it was just a bad flash and the hard resets weren't fixing the problem.

SPL --> 3.29 Hard2

Boot screen version #'s:
R: 1.70.19.09 (Radio)
G: 25.83.40.02H (???)
D: 3.Abusalza (ROM, I assume)


Going to run through my post flash process for informational purposes and in case I am doing something that is a "bad idea."
1. Following the ROM flash (via usb) I let the normal setup procede, then do a hard reset to make sure everything is cleaned up.
2. Install cabs/fixes (Google maps v3.2.1, CleanRAM v1.7, ClearTemp v1.22, Guitar Hero III Mobile, Multipad v2.95, Tilt Keyboard Fix, Ultimate V9 BT Icon Fix, GPSWeather, Pandora, Music ID, and a couple of others I can't remember off the top of my head).
3. Change the start menu organization (ie change which shortcuts are in which folders) using Total Commander to copy/paste the links.
4. Paste in my version of HH_409_Weather_Cities so I can get weather for my area.
5. Setup my email. Yahoo and an Outlook/exchange account (email, calendar, & tasks).
6. Import contacts, call logs, and texts with PIM Backup.
7. Run ClearTEMP w/ select all.
8. Run CleanRAM @ level 3.
9. Soft reset via xdashutdown.
10. Profit! ;)


My questions:
A. Have I just been very unlucky or am I doing something foolish with my phone that is causing this problem??

B. On the 6.5 WM version of this ROM, chef Abu instructs users to flash a stock ROM before flashing the Ultimate X2. Should I try that for this 6.1 WM ROM? (Have read through a bit of this thread and haven't really seen any mention of doing that for 6.1 WM ROMs).

C. Are there any suggestions/hints/tips from the pro's?

D. Also, could something have happened hardware-wise to my phone and is there a way for me to do any diagnostics?

Since I upgraded to V9, during the first 4 days mine had froze up twice on me in the morning (I'm unemployed so no harm done) and several times during the day. So I flashed the radio to 1.70.19.09 from 1.71.09.01 and haven't had an issues in the week since.

I doubt its a hardware problem since the symptoms sound more software related but theres definitely something strange going on since noone else is having the same issues and I have been running v9 since it was released without a single problem. Both the Radios you have tryed are good Radios and shouldnt cause that type of problem so I wouldnt go down that path. I can only sugest reflashing cmonex's 3.29 hard2 since its always worked great with no freezes at all and I have had issues with DaveShaws 3.34 with certain Roms. Also you could try flashing a Stock Rom (see the wiki to download one) which should reset everything and get rid of anything that might be screwing things up with the Rom.

My advice would be to do the following:

1. Reflash cmonex's 3.29 hard2
2. Flash a stock rom from the wiki
3. Hard Reset your phone
4. Flash PDACorner V9 following my flashing steps exactly *HERE* (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835)
5. Hard Reset your phone

Hopefully that should fix any problems but if it still freezes its more likely to be a deeper problem. Lets hope that works :)

Its not just on your phone its been left out for some reason on V9 but you can always go to Start, System, Screen, Align Screenif you notice its not selecting the right place and want to realign the screen.

I can't imagine it to be, easiest way is to put the clock forward to say 2010 ;)
The more sofisticated way is with looking @ notifications with say SKTools not sure exactly what says now but will be pretty definitive.

It's been a week since I begin to use this rom.I have some weird problems.

1.When I press on power button the screen flashes and goes blank, second time I press and the homescreen lights on.

I too experienced some weird issues, including freezing after my first flash of v9 and 3 subsequent flashes. My suggestion is to follow Mskip's advice from above:
1) Reflash a stock ROM*
2) Hard Reset
3) Reflash the new ROM (v9)*
4) Hard reset

This solved my issues thus far. Currently using radio 1.70.19.09 & SPL 3.29 Hard2.

I already did Mskip's advice, to make sure I repeated it today.At first it is working fine but after an adding (like rain animation or volume patch from poldo) , the clock touchflo and manilla dissappears.Only a hard reset or sprite backup brings it back with a 3 soft reset operation.

I'm afraid I'm gonna miss this rom.

I used to have Ultimate X V4 rom on my Kaiser. In the Settings/ Phone tab there was a setting which disabled the GPRS connection when the phone was on Sleep.
In V9 this setting isn't there.
Does anyone know how I could enable it?
It was not the GPRS_bye thing because that one also has a timer function and it does not behave the same as it used to in the V4 rom.

did you check under the settings if you have 'high quality', 'low quality', or 'auto' selected?? high quality and auto will cause this, i leave mine in low quality, the phone is not capable of playing smooth videos in high quality, hope this helps :D

When i get text messages in the threaded messages, and i'm having a continious conversation, when i exit out, it doesn't mark all of them as read. i have to either select each unread message using the direction pad or open and close the thread the same number of times shown as unread.

Any tips?

If i remember correctly this is an iGo bug. There is a setting in a file that needs to be changed.

Is there any way to fix the SMS thread? When i'm in a coversation with someone, it doesnt automatically mark the prior message as read when i respond. So if we're talking for a while my phone shows plenty of unread messages. Then i actually have to go back and keep scrolling through each message so that they are marked as read. Any fix around this?

I'm having an issue with this ROM, and I was hoping someone might have a solution. I just got a bluetooth headset, and it works great. However, if I run the HTC wifi router app, the bluetooth headset gets disconnected. It appears that bluetooth and wifi cannot be used simultaneously. I have been using Ultimate-X.V9 ever since it was released by Abu and never had this or any other kind of problem.

If I remember correctly the problem of reciepents receiving duplicate messages was discussed in another ROM thread, perhaps in TPC Extreme 6.1 WWE found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=510348) If I remember correctly it has something to do with the service provider, you might wanna search the thread for it. I would have done it for you but I am very cramped for time.

The manilla 2D v2.0 from that post is for a WM6.5 not WM6.1, which probably makes a difference.

1. If I have a Sim card that requests a PIN code the phone restarts it-self
2. If I remove with M2DC some of the tabs from touchflo, in landscape mode, no tab is visible, gust the home tab

Try to see if there is a kink in the phone. If it's not a software or ROM issue, then it's probably a hardware problem. Something is possibly kinking your phone so that it's not dialing out or able to perform any function. That happened to me. I had to open up the 3 screws in the back and then the 4th, 4 screws total. What happened was my son was playing with it and water got in it a little. then when I turned it on, it probably burned and caused it kink at the PTT button. Try alcohol on the outside, around all the buttons and the cracks. NOT THE HARDWARE ON THE INSIDE. I had to loosen that up, along with cleaning the phone with 70% alcohol and then it worked like a charm. Now that's just around the buttons on the outside. Remember to take the battery out if you're gonna try this. Usually if there is a kink, then you can't press the dial button or do any command. This is how windows work since I've known it since the 80s. Good luck man!

I was wondering if you ever resolved this issue. I have not been on XDA for a while and just dropped in to see if there was any talk on the issue you described in this post. I have and AT&T Tilt that's approximately 3.5 years old and I just started having the same problem. Only get reception on rare occasions. It's not uncommon for the phone to show 4-5 bars but I still can not make or receive calls. Very strange. Did you ever get your problem solved? If so I would love to know what you did. I was about to try another radio, but sounds like that may not be the problem. Thanx for any help you can send my way. :)

I used this ROM for a pretty long time and extensively used USB both for head set and file transfer to and from my PC, never had any problem :). What is the nature of your problem?

Iagree with you I have never had a problem using a USB cable. But I would like to connect my laptop to my phone using bluetooth for sync reasons.

However my laptop Toshiba NB305-106 windows 7 starter will not hook up or my phone is the issue. I know th bluttoth works on both devices but getting them to see each other is not happening

Happens on many ROMs and no it wont drain battery and takes up tiny resource, just hide it like rest of us do ;)

I use PDACorner Ultimate X.V9 on the Kaiser
Programs that are installed into Program Files folder on my card only works only before the reboot.
Then it is not a trigger.
And when I look in Program Files if it is empty.
But when I give the card into the reader and all is well, programs in place.
I thought it might cause some of the programs so I uninstalled it and gradually the problem persists.

I had a similar problem. After using for a couple of years, I could no longer read, write or format the 8gb microsdhc card from my Kaiser. However, I was able to reformat the card in a reader on my PC. The card worked fine after that.
