Bootloader screen cannot re-flash rom?

HI everyone!
I bought a used T-mobile Dash from ebay. I tried to flash the rom to upgrade to Kavana's 6.1. After unlocking it with the SDA app unlock, it finally worked (I was getting either the 202 connection error or the dreaded 270 error) It got up to 14% when it told me to do the 4 step recovery. I followed the recovery steps & it said it was ready to continue. The percentage bar popped up for a brief second and it gave me the 270 error AGAIN!

Now the phone boots up to the HTC screen & freezes. I DID SEARCH the forums and found that all I had to do was hold down the cam button and plug in the usb to get to the tri-color bootloader screen. I did that. Now I tried to put the 6.0 rom on but my phone is not recognized by activesync or any app at all? The rom app says no device is connected, when it clearly is. I am not sure how to proceed now that my phone is not recognized. Do I have a DASH paperweight? Please help me out as I did a search but didn't find anyone with my exact problem that got help? Thanks.

****UPDATE****

I stayed up pratically all night but I solved it here's what I did:

I unpacked the 6.0 rom again and I waited until the screen that asks you to check off if you have done everything..the part where it asks if you have already established connecting your device with your pc & active sync. I clicked next THEN I PRESSED the camera button while plugging in the USB cord. The 6.0 recognized the Dash and I was able to update it to the 6.0 which fixed the frozen HTC screen I was getting. The dash then booted up normally.

I then waited about 10 mins and proceeded with the 6.1 Kavana rom update!! Went off with NO PROBLEMS what so ever!!

I just wanted to post this update just in case someone has the same problem and thinks things are hopeless. :-D

my friend, you are wise beyond your years. you had a pretty big issue, searched around here with no luck.. and while waiting for an answer got completely pro-active and found a solution. not only that, you posted your solution unlike many others that say "i fixed it" then fall off the face of the earth.

I was actually going crazy with this Dash (I'm actually getting ready to resell it on Ebay and buy another one that's slightly newer)! I was thinking to myself that I probably asked a dumb question and that I wasn't going to get any replies..SOOOO.. I buckled down and did anything I could think of to fix the problem. Lo and behold I did it!! HA!

I also had to write that I found a solution because I hate it when you read a forum looking for help and people are trying to help them ,then the person just stops posting! You think to yourself ..what happened? Did they fix the problem & what did they end up doing to fix it?

As far as coming around to help..I would be happy to! It's my way of giving back cause you guys work hard making these super roms & apps for us!! :)

One last note... I happen to be a female.. ;)

Wow have to say i'm impressed as this is the sort of thing that people give up and leave double or even tripple threadz.
Now i know what to do if i ever get the same situation on a flash, now to hear your a women even more impressed "no offence meant"

I've tried this on a native vista install, winxp on parallels mac, I'm trying to install xp on my spare laptop natively to see if it works, but so far, I'm still stuck with a brick. any suggestions? thanks.

Using parallels is known to cause this situation. I would recommend installing it without parallels or using a PC...

I was trying to install Excalibur_NRG_Rose_v1.3_.exe and it got stuck on white screen, i searched a lot, but no solution yet.

HTC screen and freezing there... i followed the instructions posted on the first post, BUT, everytime I try to reflash the ROM, it resets at 3% and an error about USB connections appear.

Anyway to fix this please ?

EDIT : FIXED

Thanx to jdoggraz, i updated with the TMobile Official ROM from HTC while in the Bootloader Screen and it updated it to TMObile ROM successfully.

A small note to my fellow Mac users: as said above, Parallels will not work and will most likely leave your phone unusable.

However, VMWare Fusion works perfectly.

To avoid these problems in the future, always install the hacked SPL in the third post of my ROM, FIRST. Then... proceed to load any type of ROM your heart desires. ;)

I installed a 6.1 ROM that would not allow my phone to be rebooted. the only screen availabe was the bootloader screen. So I tried the first post method with a 6.0 ROM and it gave me an error after a few seconds and my phone rebooted with the 6.1 ROM that I had installe.

Its magic.:)
