View Full Version : Trouble with radio on Tilt

So after trying what seems like an endless number of radios, I'm unable to send emails from my phone using Gmail. Before flashing Hyperdragon III onto my phone, I was able to send/receive email no problem. Now I'm only able to receive, can't send email at all - says Unable to send message(s) - error synchronizing.

If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome. This is starting to get frustrating.

start, settings, connections, manage existing, proxy settings, un-check this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet

Checked that and the option to use a proxy is already disabled. Any other ideas? Definitely appreciate the suggestion tho.

PS. I also have the cabs to enable/disable the cingular/att proxy and neither makes a difference. Before changing the ROM, emails would send regardless of which setting I used. Hope this helps.

Edit Account setup, then keep hitting mext until you get to the outgoing server settings and after "smtp.gmail.com" add ":587" to the end.

Worked immediately for me. It has to do with the new server authentication that wm6.1 or something requires.

Hope that fixes your problem! let me know if I need to be more specific, I'm at school and I gotta run.

Tried that and no dice. :( Does seem to be a WM6.1 issue though from what I've been reading.

maybe you should flash different HyderDragon...as there are two new versions came out. Or maybe try to flash the radio...Do you know what radio version you were using before flashed to HDIII?

Don't think it's the radio at this point. I've tried most of them in an attempt to fix the problem, but the 6.0-6.1 upgrade seems to be the culprit.

it prolly is, i mean since its release theres been all sorts of bugs reported ( as well as with HPD III, hence why i wont flash it ) but imo what u should do is start over..

re-flash, get ur new radio and take it from there

try running the remove hidden proxy cab and then run the restore hidden proxy cab. i had this problem with gmail before and i think thats how i fixed it. it has nothing to do with the radio your using. just go to at&ts site and look up the connection settings and make sure everything makes sense...

If that doesn't work.

You could always try this.

I seriously doubt this is a radio related issue

To configure IMAP for your Windows Mobile 6 device, just follow these steps:
Enable IMAP (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77695) in your Gmail settings.
Open the Start menu and select Programs > Messaging > New E-mail Account.
Enter your Gmail address (including '@gmail.com') in the E-mail Address field*. Google Apps users, enter your full address in the format 'username@your_domain.com'*.
* Windows Mobile 6.1 users: Enter an unintelligible email address (such as 'g@g') at this step. This will bypass the automatic configuration for POP access.
Uncheck the box that asks to get settings automatically from the Internet and select Next.
Select Internet e-mail as your email provider in the drop-down menu.
Enter your name as you want it to appear in sent emails.
Enter a descriptive name for the email account and select Next.
Enter 'imap.gmail.com' in the Incoming Mail Server field.
Select IMAP4 as the Account type from the drop-down menu and select Next.
Enter your full email address (including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com') and password.
Select Next.
Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server field.
Make sure that the Outgoing server requires authentication box is checked.
Select the Advanced Server Settings link.
Make sure that the Require SSL box is checked for both incoming and outgoing emails.
Select The Internet as the network connection from the drop-down menu.
Select Done and then Next.
Select how often you want your phone to send/receive emails from the drop-down menu.
For more download options, select the Review all download settings link.
Select Finish.
Check our recommended client settings (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78892), and adjust your client's settings as needed.

Checked that already, too. I'm not exactly a total noob :p I've had all my stuff working perfectly until upgrading to WM 6.1. The Hyperdragon rom was after the initial upgrade from 6-6.1. Email sending (receiving is fine) through my Gmail accounts just doesn't seem to work now. I suppose I can go back to stock, but... *shudder*
