- Played Video over HTC Album (littel buggy yet)
- bugfix in AudioManager 2.0 (i think now perfect, but the translation only 95% in German
- bugfix Keymapping for Messaging

Known bugs are:

- when you disable the clock from titlebar then Large Titlebar don´t work correctly
- AudioBooster alias Equalizer can not activated, i think it is not make for Kaiser
- When you go to Settings from TaskManager and closed it, then the TM-app has small a menu/icons- only way back to large menü is a registr entry.

Set registry value to which you think the best. I recommend to set the value to 245 to 350.

1) is it possible to show upcomming appointments on the today screen? maybe appontments of the next 3 days?

2) i dont have a battery icon anywhere! just the clock on the toolbar...fix for this?

3) speed dial: when i put a contact on speed dial i can chose a certain number (cell phone or home phone). but when i select a contact from speed dial to make a call i have to chose again which number i want to dial. fix?

1: not yet - plugin related - maybe fixed in the future
2: not yet - plugin related - if you enable the battery-icon large titelbar isn´t working - may fixed in the future - if you want the battery, disable large titlebar and enable battery with advanced config.
3: just tab the name, not the picture

I have tried all (?) Kaiser Roms, but you are still a little bit better!

I use TYTN 2 in Munich with Eplus and both radios (1.65 and1.71) have same connektion (tomtom,Phone)/ battery quality, . By the way: my simpel D1 Nokia-Diensthandy have much better phone sesitivity in my office building...
Probably Antennen-Abdeckung von D1 is better.

Ganz ehrlich, die ganzen Roms wie zb RoMeOS gingen nur bergab als sie anfingen mit anderen builds. Der 19212 build in M-Diamond 1.4 zb laeuft bei mir als einziger (Der neuen roms) wirklich schnell, ohne gross lag.

Honestly, most roms i tried who started to use newer builds went downhill for me (laggy etc). 19212 in M-diamond 1.4 is the only recent rom ive tried that runs without lag for me.

go to einstellungen-tasten and reselect nachrichten - it´s a small bug that martie knows about, i think it will be fixed in next rom-version

have a look for a second office mobile icon, select the other and you should be able to ust the office-mobile icon in propgrams

it´s a problem with m2d, you can´t use landscape,

edit: just use mtoday and you´ll get a second todayscreen which you can configure to just show your tomtom or whatever

two examples:

- I patched the Manila2D.exe for compatibility to german-roms program-folder to use Google Maps without any changes

- I translated all to german-language ( very hard work and very much time is needed for translation!!!!)

ok, but you dont mess with the tabs etc? for instance, i would prefere a communication manager tab instead of the settings tab, since most of the options are useless (daten synch, hintergrundbild, über...,)

and a save as read option for new sms / emails on the screen ;)

Hi so here are some things from me to your beta 5.
So for me until now everything works.
So I have the radio 1.71 am and taken until now satisfied.
Cam goes well and I think faster than in my original HTC WM6.0 Rom only what I had.
Had a few questions you can contact the photo nor a few more and extend the same even if the programs?
And times when I change the background image as I get back your original pure?

did you install googlemaps? there is a shortcut on the internet widget. after installing, everything should work: enter a name and hit search, googlemaps starts automatically

I have just seen a really really small "bug": in the weather menu, the highest an lowest temperatures are shown and there's a Letter before the temperature: it can be "h" for "höchste" but should be "t" for "tiefste" or something like that (now it is a "l" for "lowest").

And then one question: is there an easy way to include more cities in the weather page which are not yet listed? I used "Advaced Config" for doing that in my old ROM with HTC Weather, but in Touchflo this doesn't work... May be you could give a small hint? Thank you!

Edit: I found the HH_0407_WeatherCities.xml in Windows Directory - in that I inserted my 2 Cities and now (after a restart) everything is fine. :-)

phone canvas doesn´t support video call (i had no luck installing it, only the half of the grafics worked) and the camera doesnt support autofocus and the front camera (will maybe fixed) i think martie will cook the camera in the next beta for testing:)

I have it in one of my version cooked in, but the Opal Phone Canvas don´t have Video-Calling!!!... and the Camera 6.8 doesn´t support Frontcamera
...and that is why I have it thrown out again

you´re right. OperaMini is a Java application, but after installing Java it runs.
So is there a shortcut or registry key which can be modified to start OperaMini instead of OperaMobile? I´ve used a shortcut to start OperaMini from "StartMenü" like "..\Java\JBED.EXE -run -s0_".

Radio: 1.71.09.01

I was using previously the original HTC WM 6.1 german ROM and the old original SPL. Had some frozen screens and switch a week ago to Hard-SPL 3.28.

Now with the new M-Opal rom beta 0.6 after the very 1st few hours it looks like that I have seen again some screen freezes in applications I had it never before.

tomtom 6 was working so far

With Minimal Dialer I see the problem that i cannot accept incoming calls any more, the press on the green button is not working and the soft keys are just a "white are" and have no function either.

Unistalled Minmal dialer and I can accept calls again :D

I see - I must confess that I am also not the freak to test different radios "just for fun" just to see the difference, so we are on the same page ... :)

The phone should "just work" stable.

So I will stay with the radio until there is another feedback with some good reasons to change or I am running into trouble.

It´s anoying to get through Settings>System>Power options to see Battery Status.

it works if you use advanced config: disable clock in status bar, use advanced config to enable battery status, soft reset, done!

A few questions/comments:

Martie, does 3,56 SPL run well for you, or did you just run 3,56 because its the highest number. Did you specifically make this rom with 3.56 in mind? For German Vario IIIs and german HTC kaisers i think 3.29 is in the official rom. I had 3.29 first then updated, im not sure but it feels as if 3.29 was faster...might be placebo though. What SPL's is everyone else running?
I might go back to 3.29 tomorrow and see if i notice anything.

Am i stupid or is the "Slide Keyboard Sound" Settings menu gone? You, know the one where you can select a piano sound for when changing into landscape mode, with hardware keyboard out.

Any way to get the SIP Keyboard from the M-Diamond rom ported over to this one? Atm it uses the generic Kaiser rom. I just thought the M-Diamond 1.4 Software keyboard looked much cooler.

Lastly, i had some wireless problems (unstable connections etc) which i didnt have with M-Diamond 1.4 (Same radio 1.64.XX the Nikki one, checking tomorrow).
Might just have been bad luck or coincidence, i ll test further tomorrow.

Tiny bug i noticed: The "About" html file for the weather plugin cannot be found (it searches the phone memory via opera when you click "Ueber/About"). No big deal, just thought i'd post it.

Other than that it seems just as fast as M-Diamond 1.4 which i thought was really fast. I think sticking to the original Kaiser Win Mobile build 19212 is a good move, the 20XXX builds RoMeOS used near the end for some reason made everything really laggy on my Vario III. As always, you have done a great job creating the ROM. I am currently running version 0.6, but gonna try out version 0.7 in the next few days. Anyway, I am still missing a few things, which would make the ROM a bit more complete. But this has time, because this still is beta and you said we shouldn't ask for apps :D

Well froestel, this is a hot topic I guess. Need to test my navigation software myself today. Didn't try it out since I flashed to M-Opal.

But, I am not using Igo8. I have MN6. But it seems to be quite a common problem with navigation software nowadays. I remember last time I had a call when I was running MN6, my whole phone locked up and I had to Soft-Reset. This is not too good news ;)

welches version von igo benutzt du? weil ich selber benutzt auch igo8 und hab keinerlei probleme...

Had the sms problem once a few weeks ago. In my case, as much as I know, spb backup made the problem. As I upgraded the rom and restored my settings and contacts, I couldn't receave any sms or send any. Couldn't even send or receave files with bluetooth.
Hardreset (Speicher löschen) should help. If not, then flash it again.

Hope the next stage of this rom will come soon. Can't wait for an update...

1. Navigon 6 runs perfect by me!

But IGO 8 stops after a call, that is right ... but when you disable Manila2D it works fine...

I have no idea to fix it, at the moment... sorry

maybe a memory problem:

Manila + Phone + IGO = Full RAM -> terminate App

PS: I think Manila need much of memory

i have only tested igo version 8.0.0.49545 Jul 30 2008 and this Version say good bye after incomming call(, when Manila2D is running, too)...

i think i make an Update in the next day and test it again....

Ok. I tested igo8.0.0.54000 (Sept1) with the rom. I had someone call me while it was active - it minimized fine, i accepted call, hung up, then went to taskmanager icon and igo8 was still there. I click on it and it was back fullscreen, working fine. So no crashes or anything at all.
Of course i notice a few bugs with manila 2d, which prob arent the rom's fault, for example: Landscape / keyboard mode doesnt work on SMS Messaging Tab (the one where the latest message is previewed). I think same for Email, it would just stay blank in landscape. When shifting from landscape back into Normal screen position the start menu is automatically "clicked". No big deal, just weird. Other than that everything is smooth. Im beginning to get annoyed by the start menu, i wish could just remove it, its pointless with manila 2d, just gets in the way.

Manila2D has no Landscape support, but i have begin to fixed (weather and Tabs are fine)

camera issues mostly mean wrong radio/incomatible radio. Check what martie is using, or the radio thread. most new radios should work.
Upgrade to beta07 maybe, i think camera app changed there too. I personally miss the focus features though.

ok thx, i'll update the radio, and igo :) the alarm is working now too..dont know why but it works :D

maybe its the wrong radio-ver cause i had to unlock my kaiser with the kaiser unlocker, and it's flashing a new radio-ver! then..i'll go back to my original radio-ver :P

0.7 beta is rockstable since the day of release for me...only one (hopefull) little issue...I use Mobile-TV from T-Mobile Austria and in earlier M-Diamond ROM´s this worked perfectly.

In Opal 0.7beta, when I´m clicking on on of the TV-Links I´am asked if I want to save the File somewhere. So I found out, that Streaming Media isn´t installed...I installed it myself but it does still not load the TV-Stream.

Doeas anyone have a Solution/Suggestion therefor?

i've found another problem: Worms World Party v1.0.4 doesn't start (Light Simulator). For about 1 sec a black screen, then back to today screen!

EDIT: Maybe i found the problem...i think this problem is caused by the "gxdma.dll" in the windows directory...but i can't delete it, cause the file is in the rom! how can i delete it??

Is there a programm what i can use with this Rom....like the HomeScreen UI+ (ex. NatteryStatus)...
I need it for SMS and GPRS Count because the HomeScreen UI App don´t work with this Manilla Home Screen..

First of all, thanks for this great ROM! I just installed it and it seems to be excellent. However, I have a problem with the data connection ("Datenverbindung"). It seems that I cannot prevent my Kaiser from establishing a data connection; even if I disconnect it (several times), it keeps reconnecting automatically. Furthermore, the "Connecting 3G..." notice is rarely displayed, making it impossible to cancel connecting. Any ideas? I do use Microsoft Exchange to synchronize my Kaiser, but I cannot find a button to enable/disable Microsoft Direct Push.

Zunächst vielen Dank für ein hervorragendes ROM! Ich habe es gerade erst installiert und es scheint stabil und zügig zu laufen.

Leider habe ich ein Problem mit der Datenverbindung, die sich immer wieder automatisch herstellt. Auch wenn ich im Comm Manager die Datenverbindung trenne, wird sie sofort wieder aufgebaut (nach zwei Trennungsvorgängen erst nach ein oder zwei Minuten wieder). Auch wird während des Verbindungsaufbaus nur selten die Nachricht hierüber angezeigt (in der man den Datenverbindunsaufbau ja normalerweise abbrechen kann), sodass ich immer erst warten muss um sie dann im Comm Manager wieder trennen zu können. Da ich keine Datenflatrate habe und die Datenverbindung zudem an der Akkulaufzeit zehrt, würde ich dies gerne unterbinden.

Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass es damit zu tun hat, dass ich meine Daten (E-Mails, Kontakte, Kalender...) mit Exchange synchronisiere (im Regelfall über ActiveSync am PC, manchmal auch per WLAN oder GPRS/UMTS). Allerdings kann ich im Comm Manager auch nicht Microsoft Direct Push aktivieren bzw. deaktivieren (Schaltfläche wird nicht angezeigt).

Schön wäre es, wenn die Datenverbindung nur auf Anforderung hin aufgebaut wird (ideal: nach Bestätigung -- "Möchten Sie wirklich online gehen?") und ich im Comm Manager auch Microsoft Direct Push aktivieren bzw. deaktivieren könnte.

Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich diesem Problem begegnen kann? Im Forum konnte ich bislang noch nichts zu dem Thema finden. Jegliche Hilfe ist herzlich willkommen :).

sorry i only can say this in german:

geh nach start->einstellungen->verbindungen->verbindungen->erweitert->netzwerke auswählen

da stellst du beides auf "firmennetzwerk"...somit wird nie mehr automatisch eine verbindung hergestellt!

EDIT:
Mit dem Resco Explorer kann man auch System-Dateien löschen aber keine aus dem ROM...genausowenig wie mit dem Totalcommander!

NO...it´s a part from Manila2d package btw from Opal rom.

Maybe it is the SamsungD3D driver that makes trouble with your Games...

jep, tried it! the test inside the driver-cab are working fine...but the games wont work...but this can be solved by deleting the GXDMA.dll! Maybe you can include the new d3d drivers in your next release?

Just a quick recommendation: When troubleshooting issues, why not install the latest version? Then you can compare if the latest version fixes it or makes it worse. Seems a few people are still on older Versions, which in case of a beta versions gets issues very confusing i think.

the only reason that i installed Beta06 is, cause in Beta07 there is the new camera-app included, which doesn't support front-camera and autofocus!

i've tried this cab...the keyboard works fine, BUT if i pull out the hardware-keyboard i cant write letters like "ä,ö,ü,ß,..." cause to do this you have to write "a" for example and then you have to press "fn"+"space" to change the a into a "ä". But if i press "fn"+"space" the stupid t9-menu opens instead of changing the character...also, you can't deactivate the word recommodation of t9...so if you are typing with the HW-keyboard the input is very slow (cause t9 is looking into it's library after every character you write...)

So as far as Rome is the first peak but still have a few questions.

1st I have installed the Diamond keyboard you've linked but does not work.
It is installed and is also visible but when one presses a button and nothing happens?

2nd Is it possible to program launcher so you can durchscrollen at him? So it is very top and if you still expresses the high times you will automatically land below?

3rd @ all who advanced settings to German simply wants the language file in the Windows directory so purely copy is as good as anything in German.
Perhaps someone can still translate the rest as you can read my English is too bad ...

Also das Rom ist soweit erstmal Spitze aber hab da noch ein paar Fragen.

1. Ich habe die Diamond Tastatur installiert die du verlinkt hast aber die funktioniert nicht.

Perhaps this is a bug? Gonna monitor this on my way home today.

there is languagepack for tf3d, just install the tf3d *.cab and the languagepack and you´ll get a german tf3d

running tf3d since the first beta, you just need a second today software like mtoday to switch between tf2d and tf3d!

yes i have made a cab from this with lue icons an german text, but it is very slow.

this cab stop manila and start an other plugin when you use the keyboard.
The same is when you move back the keyboard

sometimes my phone wont ring or vibrate if i get a SMS or email! the sms-counter of M2D appears, but without ringing and vibrating...if i soft-reset the kaiser and try it again it works!

- sometimes the phone lags (if i press a softkey it takes about 2-3seconds till the menu appears) only solution: soft-reset
- sometimes my phone wont ring or vibrate if i get a sms or email

i have:

- 1.71.09.01 Radio

just setup another emailaccount and the tab is working, you´ll get one tab for every emailaccount. the tabs are to switch between your emailaccounts, so, just one account, no switching!:)

however, there is one small thing bothering me...
i use to forget about birthdays, so i had a very little fancy tool called birthday reminder (freeware) which was a plugin on my home screen showing me the upcoming birthdays... now, that i cant add it to the home plugin anymore i am forgetting about too many birthdays (as my agenda is too packed to squeeze em in)
is there any chance of having this lil feature integrated someday? :)

i can only solve this issue with a reset or restart. anybody having a clue?

try renaming the ie-exe to the opera-exe (may be a problem, they are both in windows folder) copy ie to sd card, rename, copy back with totalcommander, overwrite the original opera file, really don´t know if this works, i think i can remenber reading something about that.

had this problem too in a earlier beta, an older windows live version was the reason for freezing. never had problems with opal 1.0 (newer windows live). sorry, but i think a hard reset and trying again is the only way to fix the freezing...

at first: thank you for your brilliant rom! I'm just around testing atm, i've got some problems:

- sometimes on the home screen of manila, the next appointment doesn't get refreshed when the appointment is over, restart of manila helps...

- when starting opera, and i put out the keyboard, the landmark view is at the wrong side...

- when exiting opera, manila shows white artifacts and is getting very very slow!

- when going into standby when opera is open - the device doesn't wake up -> soft reset

hope that those few small things can be fixed, new opera version could probably fix 3 of them!

you'll get a donation if everything works fine of course!

sehr cooles ROM das M-Opal v.1.0 German WM6.1.
Leider habe ich nach dem ich das Rom inkl dem "KAIS" Radio aufgespielt habe keine Möglichkeit den Kaiser mit dem PC zu verbinden, hab ihn jetzt an 3 PC's angeschlossen und an allen drein wird er überhaupt nicht! erkannt, also der pc meldet nicht einmal, dass ein device angeschlossen wurde.

Außerdem wird der Kaiser extrem! langsam bzw fast nicht mehr benutzbar sobald ich ihn an einen Rechner anschließe. Sobald ich das Kabel wieder abziehe ist er normal schnell. Hat jemand einen Tipp?

Since i flashed the M-Opal v.1.0 German WM6.1 i could not connect the kaiser to any computer. The device can't even get recognized. Furthermore when i plug the Device to any computer, it lags...the speed is incredibly slow!
But once i unplug it, the device runs in normal speed. Any Ideas?

By the way: Though 3.29Hard2 is recommended, i tried to flash the newer one (i guess it was 3.59Hard2)..and it failed. I saved the File as "KAISIMG.nbh" on my sd card, kaiser loaded the file and flashed it! 100% successful. But after rebooting the device, the hardspl is still the old one (3.29)..andy ideas on that?

Geh mal auf Start -> Einstellungen -> Verbindungen -> USB zu PC
Dort nehm mal den haken für die "Erweiterete Netzwerkfunktion aktivieren" raus, dann sollte es funzen... :-)

danke für den Tipp. Hab ihn bereits in einem anderen Beitrag gefunden, hatte vergessen es zu erwähnen. Hat nicht geholfen, der Rechner erkennt zwar meinen Kaiser stellt aber keine verbindung über das mobile geräte center (vista) und auch über Active Sync 4.5 (XP) her.

Das Handy bleibt wie eingefrohren sobald ich das kabel an einen rechner anschließe. Verschiedene Kabel hab ich uach schon probiert. Verschiedene Roms auch (Original HTC 6.1) (M-Diamond 1.4 (alle davon)) und natürlich das M-Opal

Pretty annoying as you can imagine. I then found, that once I uninstalled it, everything worked fine again ... except my LEDs. So I reinstalled. No problem for like 2 days.

Then Manila2D disabled itself and doesn't want to start anymore. I sure had it disable itself before once in a while, but it always started again.

I tried several things, like uninstalling KaiserNotification, as I thought this would be the initial problem (perhaps it is, but I don't get the clue). I tried softresetting, this didn't work. I tried a cold-boot. No chance either.

The only thing I didn't try, was doing a hardreset. This is what I want to avoid, like everyone else. I am writing this here, because I think it is an environmental issue and thus, a ROM issue. I thought, perhaps this has something to do with the time I have this installed for now. Perhaps someone else experienced the same and has a solution.

Though I thought about hard-resetting or re-flashing to M-Diamond 1.4, but I just don't have the time to mess around with re-importing 6k (or more) sms into the messaging app. Perhaps I will go back to homescreen++ and ultimatelaunch, we will see. But for now I would like to have this solved.

same here, kaisernotification screwed everything a while ago, hard reset...

Having had this rom for a while/long time now, i cant stop but imagining that it really got a bit slower. Especially when many sms are in folder (it helps deleting them). I dunno it just felt so much faster at first. Maybe i should do a hard reset. I think this happened to other roms before too! Anyone else experience this? Typing sms for example lags considerably! I type, it takes a while to show the letters. I disabled all the writing aids/auto completion. It used to be very fast at first.

Kaisernotification is a tool with which you can change the behavior of the LEDs. You can change the color they blink for certain notifications or disable them in some timeframe. It is an extra tool you have to install.

I use this rom and have to ask a question with wlan proxy.
I have wifiprofiles installed and all settings made (by proxy). Now when I start the program and activate wlan, then the wlan with proxy settings ca. 10 seconds, it does not again until I turn off a wlan again then on again. always have the proxy settings after about 10 seconds is no longer effective.

one has an idea what it can be?

I love this m-opal. I was looking for a software like that for a long time for my Kaiser. And I just found Cube++ and Pointui. But this is great, so much better!

Is there also the possibility for a key lock? I installed version 1.0.
The only thing I don't really like about m-opal is that the software stagnates a little too much. For example when I want to write a message... I have to repeat to press on a few letters often...

@ LAR Grizzly, This point i also found out. If you use the player, which is part of the audio manager there is no volume control. In the first post on the pictures you can see it.
The volume control you can find in the windows media player

I first had the original T-Mobile Software and there the audioplayer has a volume control.

Is it possible to put a volume control in the audio player?
Also i found out another point:
If you choose musik (picture 8 in the first post) i´ll find in the menu the point Equalizer. If you choose it nothing happens?

HEY guys out there ;) i've a huge problem! everytime i close opera mobile included in rom screen rotates upside down and it wont be fixed until device is switched off and on again!

only one small thing to brag about....the rom just isn't that fast....i have only like 41 mb available. is it my fault? what do I need to change?

oh and another question: how did u get the umlaute (ä,ü,ö) to work on the hardware keyboard (fn + space)?? is your base-rom a german version? I once flashed an english rom (shifus) an tried to get the umlaute combination to work. when pressing fn + space nothing happend :((( getting the qwertz to work wasn't any problem at all XD

i can't send textmessages with more than 160 letters
i only get an error that says : Diese SMS konnte nicht versendet werden ; This SMS couldn't be send
and the cellphone i send the message to only receives the first 160 letters
even if i send 161 letters or 500

what can i do ?

hey martie, i just read the great news about your wm6.5 plans, i will test it for sure, because all the praise for your m-opal is well earned.

BUT i have still one question in regard to this rom:

why is it that one can't set personal *.mid files as ring tone.

i can select it, but i can't play it and it just accepts one of the three default rings (Ring-Standard, Ring-Vision, Ring-WindowsMobile).

what am i doing wrong ?

i hope you still have enough sympathy for your "historic" developments to answer that question :)

thanx for that rom ... I use it for a few days now and I like this today screen much. the rom is fast and has nice features. The radio 1.7xxx has some connectio probs so I use now the 1.65.16.25 whitch works fine at this time.

Würde gerne das Rom flashen.
Dazu hab ich zunächst versucht HardSPL 3.56 zu flashen.

Vorher hatte ich die Version 1.0, da zeigte er mir dieses an:

KAIS130 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8

Nach dem flashen (dauerte nur ca 20 Sek.), sagte er zwar alles OK , doch beim überprüfen zeigte er das selbe wie oben an.

Ist das jetzt richtig so, oder hab ich irgendwas falsch gemacht!?

Mit dem flashen hab ich jetzt soweit alles hinbekommen.
Allerdings kann ich keine SMS versenden.

Jedesmal wenn ich versuche eine SMS zu senden, werde ich immer automatisch zu Outlook geleitet. (E-Mail einrichten)

Ist da was schief gelaufen oder hab ich irgendwo eine Einstellung übersehen?

I Have a request. Is it possible to use a hack or a modification to rize the nombers of the Contact pictures in the contact registerfield.

Actually i have just 12 Contacts and if possible it would be really good to have 24 or more.

In The program Register there are a lot of free slots also where i can link new programs so maybe it is possible to rize the nombers of the contact slots ????

Ps.: Someone Know a good WM 6.5 ROM with German translation?

I can't install this in my unbranded kaiser with latest original htc rom....

the installation process starts but hangs at 0% --- after some time there is the error 262 message on the pc
after restarting the phone runs normally... with original rom.....
