I thought I had found one, but the RUU complains that it is the wrong version (Error 300) and I get nowhere. I still have WM6.1 working fine... how infuriating :0p

Well,as you say its a G4 and upgraded to wm6.1,ok
First,how did you upgrade to wm6.1,which method did you apply to upgrade,was it SoftSPL or HardSPL ?
If you applied SoftSPL,then,just simply download official stock rom and flash it,it'll work,but if you applied HardSPL and the IPL/SPL are changed,then first you'll have to Remove HardSPL,revert back to Original Official IPL/SPL of the carrier and then you'll be able to reflash wm5,ok
Let me warn you here,if the phone is HardSPL and you flash any Official stock rom without removing HardSPL first,will 'Brick' your phone.

Hi,

Ages ago I upgraded my G4 wizard to WM6.1. Now it turns out I need to put it back to WM5 - but can't find a RUU to use.

The original ROM was from O2, but that is not vital. Does anyone know where I can get a suitable RUU from? I found one that would, I think, only work with a G3 device, but have not found one yet I can use...

Actually i had the problem with G4 on how to upgrade to WM6, I tried but no luck, haven't tried either SoftSPL or HardSPL yet but when I flashed my WM5 original ROM, I didn't have any backup at all so I kept searching answers here for days, & finally I tried the Wizard Love ROM which one of the Senior Member here said it will work. It works for me & now I'm using WM5 Wizard Love Rom with CID LOCKED.

P.S.
If anybody can teach me how to upgrade my Wizard G4 (T-Mobile/MDA - black) to WM6 (any rom) or the download links for SoftSPL ONLY! they said it's safe..

Would gladly appreciate!
