Hi everyone !
I'm new here (in the Hermes forums). I have a prophet, but now I bought a Hermes.
The guy who originally owned (the phone is used) told me that when he flashed it, he had this problem that I'm going to tell you now, so I really don't know what could had happened to him during the flashing process.

The problem I have is that the Hermes works very well, the Wifi, bluetooth, card reader, everything EXCEPT the PHONE, let's say, the GSM interface.
When I turn it on, everything works well, (I DON'T SEE THE 'NO GSM' THING), and I have the antenna icon with the exclamation mark (!) next to it. When I go into there, in the phone configuration, if I try to select a network manually, after a few seconds it says that it can't retrieve the list of networks, that I have to try later. If I go to the band configuration, and I put it to use only gsm, for example, after a few seconds it says that it can't change the configuration, that I have to try later.

I tryed with different sims, of different companies.

When I bought the phone, it had a spanish Schap's 3.54b, and the Olipro 2.30 spl.
I tryed hard resetting, but nothing. I flashed the original shipped rom WM6.1 WWE, downloaded from here, and nothing. NOTE: I had to flash with the sd method because if I try to do it with the computer, I have the 260 error (or 262 i dont remember).

I changed the HARDSPL to theOlipro 2.10, hard reseted again, and still de same thing.

The IPL is 1.04.

NOTE: When I flashed the WWE rom, I flashed the .nbf file inside, but the SPL.nbf I didn't flashed.

What can I do? ANY SUGGESTIONS ?

I read a lot of things in the forums and in the wiki, but nothing. I've just finished downloading the Schaps WM6 4.31, now i will try to flash it with the sd thing.

Also, I have the protocol 32.80.7020.20H. I've read it somewhere but I don't remember what the protocol is. I HAVEN'T CHANGED THIS since I bought it, could that be my problem?

Currently, I have this (before flashing Schaps):

-Device Information:
ROM: 3.54.255.3
ROM DATE: 07/05/07
Radio Version: 1.47.00.10
Protocol: 32.80.7020.20H
ExtROM: 3.54.255.104

-In the bootloader:
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10.Olipro

Maybe the antenna is no good...

1st thing I'd try though is to flash a new radio on (use sd card method). Worst that can happen is "No GSM" but as you can't use it anyway theres no harm in trying...
Check what radio rom you have 1st though so you can flash back if need be.

If you can get a "broken" Hermes (same model is best) then you can replace parts and see if that helps. I did this and found one of the parts that was causing a problem with my jasjam was the flywheel.
Do a search for the HTC service manual or go to Mike Channons web site to get heaps of manuals and tutorials...

Cheers...:D

The phone is near new, let's say, it was used for less than a month, he had it a week or two and then flashed it and had that problem, so I don't think that it's and antenna problem, and if it hadn't antenna, it has some signal of some kind.
Any other ideas?
I changed the radio when i Flashed the WWE version. I'm now downloading this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298520
Any suggestions? is there any problem using the AKU 3 or something?

Thanks =)

PD: also tryed putting a little piece of paper over the sim but it didn't changed anything :(

PD2: The error I get when I go to Phone Settings -> Netowrk, and I choose "Manual" is: "Unable to read setting from the netowrk. Try viewing settings later, or disconnect data connection and try again.
