That is what I was going to install it off until I saw how much space it takes up.
It probably ran out of ram when trying to boot up. I would try and use this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395173

I would recommend a Rom that's finished ;)
And just a bit slimmer TNT for instance the light version or J.Vd.Spanks rom.
But maybe a cleaner Rom with the files already in there should do the trick.

I was getting the white screen of death on linwizard too. Then I followed the boot instructions better. You cant have anyting running in the background and you have to put the phone in flight mode. (linwizard) I haven't tried Android yet.

Well, I feel that I am close....I have extensivly dedited the default.txt file to try and get it to boot....but still no luck. I have found however that you can indeed mix-and-match the various "distrobutions" of Android and make a semi-working version. The closest I have got to booting it is by using the zimage from the working Kaiser release, my modified default.txt, and the regular initrd-android.zip from here....it gets to the red ping pong ball, THEN the screen fades away, THEN a white scream comes up.......and then nothing. SOOOO close to booting it ain't funny! There is a guy on youtube that has done it on the Wizard, but for whatever reason he wont release his files, or tell how he did it! Heres the link to the videos=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS_AmG8fCR4

@QuePPC-are you serious? Its a powerpoint slideshow? No damn wonder he wont tell us how he did it...because he didnt! ARGH! Anyways, I am still working on this...using the LinWizard kernel, Android attempts to boot, but doesnt even get to the red ping-pong ball screen....it hangs before that apparently, SO I am now trying to make my own zImage kernel under Ubuntu. If anyone wants to help me out, shoot me a PM or IM or something, and I can give ya the specifics. PS, ya need some flavor of GUI Linux, with a BASH command terminal, GIT, some kind of expander software, and an internet connection in order to work on it at all.

Hi everyone,
I don't know if you see my Video on youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dm-EznlpMI)
It's not a fake, or a PPT slideshow its really Android. But its just a try with patoche and revertive of linwizard team. (i use lastest Linwizard Kernel, and a default Haret configuration file. All file of android are on my SD card)
Android is slow on a wizard (maybe because we don't have Java acceleration), slow slow slow, like you can see on the video.
I'm sorry guys, like you i really want android on my wizard. If we can get it, we really need an experts of linux kernel and Driver modification.
I think through Haret, android on the Wizard will always be slow. But with a native boot (without Haret) Android would be faster

And screen taps men!!!
To kill the rumors...
Maybe if the PPT screen taps allows you to go next picture we need a video or play music... can you?

hi,
I made this video with the linwizard team (Revertive, and Patoche). But i have only two success boot a lot of time i still waiting on the red dot loading. But revertive and patoche have a lot of success boot with kernel modification.
So if u want to try :
Go to linwizard Website.
- Download the lastest Kernel (or go to the IRC channel and ask for it).
- Retrieve the OS Android (in My case i suing an old version)
- Format ur sd card in Ext3 Format.
- Extract all file in it.
- Switch off radio rom. (airplane mode)
- Boot on Linwizard (User : Root and no password)
- mount the SD card on linux.
- Go to the folder (contain mounted file)
- and run initrd
If you passed the red dot moment you get android on the wizard. But its really really slow...

I've posted this on every Android thread in Wizard. I think it may be possible to boot from SD through the bootloader. Dont ask me how. I'm not that intune to the workings of linux or the Wizard. I do know however that HTC has a diagnostic SD that will boot when you start into the bootloader mode. (reset and hold camera button until you get the RGB screen) I think that if this could be accomplished we could possibly have a dual booting wizard. That would free up most or all of the hardware resources.

Well, whenever you boot HaRET, it shuts down the hardware anyways, then re-initilizes everything under Linux if I am not mistaken, so there really is not need to boot it from the bootloader mode other than to save time from haveing to start it from within Windows Mobile. The main problem that I see is still the ammount of RAM...Android requires 32MB of RAM free in order to run at full speed, and the Wizard simply cannot provide it, which is why it runs so god awfully slow IF you can get it to boot at all.

Unless I kill all apps and start flight mode I cant get linwizard to run. One of the readme-s, I read that the haret needs 20mb above and beyond anything else running. I usually get the white screen if I don't kill everything.
Have you tried gizard? I can run that pretty quickly. Not much to it but it's a good start.

The reason why android is so slow is because of a couple of things:
1. Android tryes to looks for several devices, but not all devices are functional right now.
2. It uses java and the Java Acceleration(ARM Jazelle™ technology) isnt free to use so we cant use it in our linux kernel.
3. Plus its a hacked version of the Android initrd, it was just a proof of concept.
4. Memory could also be a problem, kernel+initrd is about 25mb so that leaves about 39Mb for userspace and android.

Will a working Android on a Wizard ever be a reality? I'm excited at the thought of having Android replacing WM but is the hardware really up to running Android?
