pie works fine with the alternate webview.dll. im assuming that the reason I get the can't connect error with my original dll is that this rom probably is using the newer pie.and yes data is connected.is there any info or non cabbed reg file I can get to enable gv calling card profile?

You can create your own REG file.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Supware.net\iDialer]
"myNumber"="18005551212"
"service1type"="callingcard"
"service1title"="GVCallBack"
"service1data"="18005551212p1234p;#"
The 18005551212 should be replaced by your GV number, the 1234 should be replaced by your GV PIN.

perfect that's what I was looking for.hopefully that will work vs the callback issue with pie. il try editing the reg once I pull off the road. thanks!

Well after creating the calling card profile it does call GV and try to dial the number but I think it dials too fast because it won't register on the google system. It does get past the "press 2" prompt and then I hear the # at the end but the actual phone number i'm trying to dial goes through too fast and it must be missing a digit or two... sighhhhhh
edit: well I took the 2 out of the calling card script and added some pauses so now when I dial, i wait for the prompt then I just press 2 myself on the dialpad then the script dials the number... so at least its working without a whole lot of hassle for me but still not ideal.

I'm having some difficulty replacing the webview.dll from my HD2. I have Core Cell EVO, and every time I use total commander to rename webview.dll, it never actually changes it. Ive also tried to connect it to my pc and change it through active sync, but I get the same problem...

Was getting the "can not connect error", was working fine for so long. This worked for me. thanks.
Go into your Internet Explorer on your phone and re-sign in to Google Voice. That should fix your problem.

Webview.dll is a part of the ROM so you have to use a program that will allow you to overwrite ROM files. I don't use Total Commander so I'm not sure exactly how it handles that, but with Resco Explorer it overwrites ROM files... all you hav eto do is Copy the file to the Windows folder and tap "Overwrite". Not sure about the renaming method you're using.

I am getting the "unexpected error" also.
I am running a HTC HD2 TMOUS, 21XX ROM. I access the google.com/voice/m/sms page via IE and it's fine... anyone know what the problem is / what is the fix?
Also I should mention, iDial only works AT ALL if I first LOG OUT of my google voice on IE. If I am already signed-in and the cookie has me to "Stay signed in", the iDial doesn't work at all (the login dialogue never shows). So the procedure I've been using is to log out of google voice on IE, then use iDial, type in my login, then receive error.

I have an HD2 and it works just fine for me. You can fix that error by going into Internet Explorer on your phone and re-signing in to Google Voice. It usually gives you that error if Google has reset the GV cookie.

Try signing into Google Voice using PIE, not directly from iDialer..
You could also try this: make a backup copy of WEBVIEW.DLL in your windows directory just in case it doesn't work. Then download this different WEBVIEW.DLL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=313116&d=1271795757) and use a file explorer (like Resco or Total Commander) to copy it to your Windows directory and overwrite the original WEBVIEW.DLL.

Yes, I am speaking about PIE. If I sign in to GV via PIE, iDialer doesn't work at all. There is no error, no login, it just closes.
I have seen the webview.dll fix but it was warned that it cannot be used for my ROM edition.

You could try it anyway as long as you back up the original. If it doesn't work you can just restore the original.

Alright, I think I might know what will fix your problem. In the registry, navigate to: HKCU/Software/Supware.net/iDialer. Now modify myNumber to be your cell phone number (not your GV number). You also have to make sure that Google Voice's default number is the same as your cell number. Hope that works.

If you are having problems with the GV CallBack feature, sign in to Google Voice using PIE. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and tap "Desktop Version". This is what fixes it for me.

Re: Calls made on Google Voice by iDialer -
I am having problems with the "Calling Card" version of the .cab I generated on the iDialer website.
I had to stall the PIN for a few seconds because it was being entered too fast for the system to get it, so on the .cab generator I entered ,,X,X,X,X for the PIN, which worked. (the commas are pauses)
Then it dials "2", which works
Then when it dials the phone number (to be called) it dials it REALLY FAST - too fast for the system to recognize it.
How can the final phone number dialing be slowed down?
I am having a similar horrible problem where iDialer seems to type in the numbers too fast.
Precisely my issue:
calls my google voice number.
password is entered successfully.
However, after password is entered there is no action on the side of GV.
iDialer then proceeds to dial "2" in order to place a call, however again there is no action from GV.
iDialer then proceeds to enter destination number and GV, in the background, while number is being dialed says "I am sorry bla bla bla..." and no success in connecting my call.
GV system disconnects me or sometimes puts me through to goog411, where the GV system starts asking "What city and state..." When that happens I just hang up.
:confused:
I tried modifying reg edit in HKCU\Software\Supware.net\iDialer ->service2Data where all the dialing info sits and no go. Tried adding additional "p" or "," to slow it down, but still no results.:confused:
Anyone have these problems and better yet any solutions.

These problems are common when using any sort of calling card from any cell phone. Other apps from other phone (I have tested on iphone, blackberry, several different android phones) behave inconsistently the same way, even though their DTMF dialing speeds are all different. Adding pause between digits will not fix the problem completely (my blackberry, the slowest and most deliberate dialer, still has these problems). Even if it were to go slower, it still won't work all the time... for instance if you're in a noisy environment or perhaps a cell glitch ("buzz" or "beep"). I don't know how to solve those problems.

Doug, this and iContact are my two "must-have" apps for Windows Mobile. I've been using them for about a year (and I even donated last fall :)). I've kept up with the updates, and have been using both GV callback and the GV calling card functionality on HTC Touch with Windows Mobile 6.1.
Sometime this summer the GV calling card "broke". The GV message, menu choices and voice changed, and now GV usually does not recognize the DTMF numbers from iDialer. I must stress it worked about 95% of the time until then.
The GV callback still works OK for me, as long as I'm signed in to IE.
Thanks again for a great app. I hope the iDialer/GV calling card functionality can be fixed.

If i would have known that development of the the app would have ended 3 months after my donation, and support would be pretty much non existent, there's no way i would have even have made one to begin with.
the fact that the development ended, and is no longer being moved forward isn't so much of a big deal. but the fact that i gave my money as well as so many others, to the app, and now it doesn't even work is very very disappointing.

So you're saying that the in-call menu has changed? That's easy for me to fix on the online config page. Right now, this is what it will dial:
With no PIN:
[your GV number],pause,"2",pause,[number you're trying to dial]
With PIN:
[your GV number],pause,[PIN],pause,"2",pause,[number you're trying to dial]
To emulate this same behavior, you could choose "calling card" instead of "google voice calling card", and type "p[whatever your pin is]p2p" in the prefix field. So if you can find a different "prefix" that works more consistently with google voice, please let me know and I'll update it.

There is a real cost involved with calling numbers over the PSTN (old-fashioned, analog phone system). If someone is offering free service, then they are paying the bill. Even Skype makes you pay for calls to normal telephone numbers (SkypeOut), and even the Google Voice client for Android still uses minutes off your cell phone plan. Google is still footing a very large bill for all of its customers, my guess is tens of thousands of dollars per day if not more.
PortSIP is a good VoIP client for Windows Mobile, but you still need a VoIP provider, and I don't know of one that's both good and free. My company, Phone.com, can provide that but we're not free.

The "ETC ETC" part you mentioned is the part most relevant to what I need to fix it. But I'll assume you're reporting the same as a couple other users:
https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/m/sms
It appears that Google has changed their url's for the mobile site (iDialer is expecting "/voice/m/sms" and instead is getting your url: "/voice/b/0/m/sms". I'll try to get that fixed as soon as possible.

It's so rare to see supbro here that I'll take this break...
supbro could you do a tiny update on GreenButton so it launches different apps depending on the presses (single press, double press, triple press or continuous press... or even more presses)
In HTC devices the headset button can be used to control a media player (or launch different apps with the headset button) since the button has different behaviours according to the type of press. However in other devices (like mine... a Samsung Omnia) the headset button acts like the green button (this is the motive for my request).
I've created a (sort of) working concept using Mortscript (http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-http-omnia-modaco-com/310840/control-touchplayer-using-the-headphones-button/) (I'm a mere scripter... I don't know any proper language) but because of the way I implemented the button presses counter it has issues (because of the loading time of the scripts)... However if GreenButton supported this natively it would work perfectly (would also be cool it could launch any type of file and not just exe).
The headset button (at least in my device) actually seems to send 2 "green button calls" for each press (one when I press it and another when I release it). So a "filter" function (argument) would probably be useful (either that or toogle the actions with press 2, 4 or 6... and do nothing if the number of presses is different). May need to be able to set the maximum "wait" interval between presses...
The idea is to pass the behaviour for each type of press as arguments in the lnk file:
#"\greenbutton.exe" 1="\play.mscr" 2="\next.mscr" 3="\prev.mscr"

For anyone whos Google Voice Calling Card config is not working right you can try this alternative:
Configure a cab using the regular Calling Card (not Google Voice Calling Card) with these parameters:
Title Google Voice
Prefix YOURGOOGLENUMBERpYOURPINp2pp
Suffix #
This has been working very nicely for me :)

For example, on AT&T in the U.S., dial *MIN# to retrieve your minute usage. Dial *BAL# to get your account balance. This is just a convenience for those who want to always use iDialer and never have to look at their ugly stock dialer, not even to get their account balance.

Anyone have an answer to this.
I'm basically having the same issues as gowell. iDialer seems to be sending erroneous digits after the '2' and with google hearing that and the actual # comes back with an error......grrrrrrr.
Made a generic config cab deleting the country code and got the same results.

Great software. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us.
My question is how do you set it up to work correctly with a calling card (not Google Voice)?
My current iDialer setup has 3 options.
1) Carrier (Standard Phone)
2) Google Voice
3) Calling Card
The dialplan now is set up with country code +1, international access code 011. I think this set up works for Google Voice, but will not work with my #3 option (calling card) as it does not require international access code to make calls.
My calling card works like this... If you call from a designated phone (like my cell phone), it will recognize the phone number immediately without prompting for PIN or password, then press 2 to make calls. To call any number, you need to dial the country code directly (no need for international access code, such as 011). So my current setup for the calling card is xxxxxxxxxxp2 (x represents the access number), but the call will not go through correctly as I suspect iDialer is passing 011 before the international numbers).
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.

Automatic calling cards just don't work well over the cell network. Not with Google Voice, not from other calling card providers, not from a Blackberry, I've tested it all. Sometimes the calls go through, sometimes not. If there is a way you can make the call without dialing any DTMF digits, I suggest that.

I couldn't figure out what the problem was until I read this thread. I ended up making a regular (non Google voice) calling card configuration as outlined a few pages back by ghostryder37. That's working for me as normal so far.
Maybe Google hasn't changed over all GV numbers to the new system yet. I'm not sure. I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who was having a similar configuration problem.

Still haven't been able to make Google Voice calls with HTC HD2. Switched out webview.dll. Logged in and out of GV in IE. Nothing seems to work. See attachment for what I am encountering.

Anyone have an answer to this.
I'm basically having the same issues as gowell. iDialer seems to be sending erroneous digits after the '2' and with google hearing that and the actual # comes back with an error......grrrrrrr.
Made a generic config cab deleting the country code and got the same results.
HTC tp2, WM6.5. Last year I had iDialer working on my TP1

Thanks for this great piece of open source software!
I've made changes to be able to use iDialer with my Asterisk (telephony) server for callback. iDialer saved me a lot of hassle having to write the GUI ;)
If anybody is interested I'll post what I did.

It seems Google has changed their Google Voice URL scheme for some people, so if you get an error message like "unexpected results: m/b/0/sms" then download the new version from my site.

Since google voice now offers free calling in the US, couldn't be a third option; to dial directly, without using the callback or calling card?

Using iContact on Sprint TP2 withstock ROM and CHT2 I have no issues, but throw iDialer in the mix, and I start experiencing Sense freezes, lag while switching to iDialer from iContact, to the point where iDialer had to be uninstalled which immediately cured the problem. Hopefully this will get sorted out between developers .

You can create your own REG file.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Supware.net\iDialer]
"myNumber"="18005551212"
"service1type"="callingcard"
"service1title"="GVCallBack"
"service1data"="18005551212p1234p;#"
The 18005551212 should be replaced by your GV number, the 1234 should be replaced by your GV PIN.
Thanks for that post, that helped. I set up my GVoice as a calling card except for some reason the "service1data" field had an extra * right before the 2, ie the number was 18005551212p1234p*2p;# instead of 18005551212p1234p2p;#. With the asterisk in place the number would not dial, and with it removed it worked perfectly.
I'm not sure if it was a bug or what not, but I figured that said knowledge should be disseminated. I used MobileRegistryEditor (inspectmygadget.com/wp-content/images/MobileRegistryEditor.zip) to modify my phone's registry.

Samsung Blackjack II w/ Windows Mobile 6.1
Thanks for making a cool app.

I have an Omnia i910 Win Mobile 6.1. I can successfully install iDialer and iContact, but when I try to install idialer-config.cab, I get a message saying installation unsuccessful. I am trying to install it after downloading and saving it in the My Documents folder on the Omnia. iDialer and iContact are installed in My Storage. I tried uninstalling them and re-installing them in My Device and then tried to install idialer-config.cab, but it was again unsuccessful.
Please help. Thank you.

Is this still active? I can't find many Google Voice alternatives for the older Windows Mobile phone, but I did find a nice SIP client and am working great on wifi with no service (I have a Verizon Mifi, so I have wifi everywhere).
Anyway, I was hoping that iDialer would allow me to dial out, I tried gv, but it didn't ask for any callback info and never seemed to initiate anything (but never errored). So then after reading faqs I got the normal version (non-gv) and configured it with googlevoice and my callback number but now it just keeps saying cannot connect.
What's worse is I cannot even use IE browser anymore, it must have been idialer trying to integrate but I get cryptic error messages whenever I try to browse to google.com/voice.
What should I try different?

I'm using a HTC-TP2 running WM v6.5. iDialer use to work just fine with GV calling me back when I place a call. Now when I make a call, idialer goes off into la-la land and eventually returns the message "cannot connect."
I've installed the new version (v.54) and recreated the config file. Same thing happens. I know that GV works because I can browse to its webpage and make calls just fine.
My provider is Sprint and I know that they just turned on some type of GV functionality. I hope its not interfering with iDialer because when it does work, I don't use any of my minutes. It's great!
So does anyone have an idea of what could have changed and how the heck can I change it back?
Thanks!!!

update the webview.dll file on your phone with the one included earlier in this post.
power off/power on the phone afterwards and sign in to google voice on ie on your phone; then log out out of google voice. pain in the ass, but it always works for me

Alright, I put webview.dll in the windows directory of my phone, soft reset'd and then tried to browse to GV via IE and I get the error:
Cannot find 'w w w. google .com/voice'. Make sure the path or Internet Address is correct.
I can get to the site using Opera Mini though...
Suggestions?

Try logging into google voice through ie, then sign out. Next time you use idialer, it'll prompt you to sign in again. It should work after that

That's the thing, I can't get to GV through PIE. It gives me an error message that it cannot find the site. It finds other sites just fine. I'm also running Opera Mini and it can reach the site while PIE can't.

I love iDialer and use it for Google Voice calls, however the keypad on my i760 doesn't work with version 0.54. I press a number and iDialer doesn't show a number on the screen. Is there a fix/ workaround for this?? It's the only thing I don't like about iDialer, because I love the keypad on my phone.
Thanks!
EDIT: I found out that if I hold the number key for about a second, it shows up. A bit longer to dial, but I can live with it. Sorry guys

Try "Google Visual Voicemail." You should be able to find it in the forum.

When I use idialer, it does a ring back from my Google voice, which registered as an incoming call and cost me minutes. I don't see the benefit, or am I doing something wrong? :(

Call your provider and have them add your GV number to your "Friends and Family" type free access numbers (if your carrier has that type option).
