View Full Version : [THE] [28-SEP-09] TF3D Portrait AND Landscape ICON Theme
marios96
28th September 2008, 02:53 AM
I have wasted a long night sleep to make this one, so please throw in a good word for it=p
It's basically an icon theme, but I managed to change also the Landscape Icons, which is rare. In the theme I included all manila files, so it should work with every ROM. (I use ROMeOS 1.05)
I also changed the background in landscape mode. I just made it a bit grey, but every other color option is available...
Here is a screenshot:

Attached:
The wallpaper I use in my screenshots in case anyone wants to use it
glassclockback - (It just change the backround, not the numbers)
GlassClock - The whole clock with the numbers
Glossy Black Bars.zip - Rename to .exe first and execute
LINK: http://rapidshare.com/files/148968022/Theme.zip.html
PS.: Thanks to the user who created the glass clock background.
EDIT: As you may have noticed the Landscape Theme is actually ment for Touch Pro, although the rest should work just fine on a Diamond. However, someone with a Diamond should try to make it work. Consider changing the registry string value "EnableLandscape" under HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\.
Change it from false to true. If the string value doesn't exist, you can create it.

Very pretty, certinaly makes me wish I hadn't gone for a rom without TouchFlo 3D. If only it didn't gobble resources as badly as it does :'(
I LOVE the background picture, do you have a larger version for use on a desktop? Could do with a copy that's 2560px wide if that's possible please...

I'm sorry but I only got that specific image. I actually I got it from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2664268&postcount=273). Maybe the original uploader can help you...

i don't understand what you mean by landscape theme?
when we rotate our screen, instead of the touchflo turning landscape, that menu shows up instead? looks pretty amazing if that's the case!
can you elaborate alittle more on this landscape mode?
--
agh i just noticed your carrier bar and it says "unreals PRO" i guess you have a touch pro.
will this work for the diamond? i don't see why not!

Well... The theme is actually made for Touch Pro. (It seems that I was too tired to mention it, sorry:p).
But, as I think about it, it should also work on the Diamond. I mean, all the files are there, why not?
If someone is willing to try it, please consider changing the registry string value EnableLandscape under HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\. Change it from false to true.
If the string value doesn't exist, create it.

1. Download the zip file from the link above.
2. Unzip it in a folder in your phone
3. Use Total Commander (http://ghisler.fileburst.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.exe) (It's a file explorer that allows you to change files in the windows directory) to copy the manila files, in the Windows folder.
4. Disable and reenable TouchFLO 3D in Settings -> Today -> Items
You can also use Diamond TF3D Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749) if you rename the .zip file to .theme.

Thankyou for that. Now, How can I backup my current TF3D theme?
You don't really have to. It is stored in ROM. So if you want to restore your original theme back, just use TOTAL COMMANDER to delete all manila files in windows directory. (Don't worry they are all close to each other).
Again, you can use Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405749). It has a restore function which do all the work for you.

The thing is, if you used a diamond theme to make this, it might actually be that even thouch you changed the landscape mode, it might not work on the Pro... :/
I will give it a try though.
marios96
28th September 2008, 04:01 PM
Actually it was made from a Pro Theme. And ofcourse I've tested it on my own.
I'm not sure if the landscape theme will work on the Diamond though! I will test it as soon as my gf comes. She has a diamond...

When u extract your Manila-files and load them in the Manila Editor 0.2 there are some files in a category Landscape... I was wondering if these files can be used on our Diamond.
I think the files are there with some reason... or not? Hope we can figure it out to run TF3D in Landscape! That would be absolutely great! :-)
I will keep searching for something like that :-)

(obviously the latter it only the back of the clock, but in the the first would i be correct in thinking that the numbers are also see-through)
thanks for help

Although that would be a great idea, no, glassclock provide clear background and white numbers. As the screenshots...

It should work, yes. Copy the files and you should get the transparent clock with the white numbers...
Or you can uninstall glassclockback to get the original clock back...

Hi,
I have tried using this on my Diamond but it is way too bright (see picture below, it looks a much brighter on the phone than it does in the picture).
Is there any way to darken this like the one in the first post?

It will change the color instantly.

Thanks, that's a bit better but still a bit too bright for my liking. The standard black theme can cause problems with some older apps like TCPMP where the icons at the bottom are invisible (because they are black when not selected!).

Hi, I've tried to install your theme on my Touch Pro using Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7.
After the Config has copied the files I need to restart my device. After the reboot I still have the original TF3D theme by HTC.
I really like this theme so I would like some tips on how to install this theme because i think i'm doing something wrong :(
By the way, i tried installing other themes with Diamond TF3D Config and that works fine.

i downloaded the landscape and glossy black zip files to my pc, renamed them to .exe, copied them to my documents folder in my TP and opened them in resco explorer by double tapping on their file names. Then i disabled and enabled TF3d and yet it still shows the old theme.

1. Download the THEME from the rapidshare link in the first post.
2. Unzip to a folder and copy the files to your Windows directory using Total Commander
3. Download GlossyBlackBars.zip, rename it to GlossyBlackBars.exe, copy and execute it in your device.
If you are trying to use just the landscape files, you should know that it may not work with every theme out there, since most themers use different base theme...

You have to use a theme that has the round 3D top and bottom bars. If you use a theme with flat bars it will not work...

But (i thought) that's what the .exe is for... to convert flat black bars to glossy round 3D-like ones!
If i use a theme with that... what's the reason of existence for that file?

Very, very nice. But could someone turn this into a .cab file? I just spend the last half hour tapping "yes" in Resco to the question I was overwriting a ROM file and that could damage my system... Very annoying, and I haven't found a setting to prevent screen either.

You can't really find themes with as black bars as the exe gives you. You could try it with any color theme, it would still make them black and glossy.
Try it with the Windows Mobile default theme...

Tried that too, it just didn't copy the ones not yet overwritten bij Resco. If there are versions present other than the ROM ones, both programs copy fine. If a file is only in ROM, TC doesn't copy (but doesn't tell you either) and Resco pops up a confirmation box. Annoying. :) Hence the request for a cab.
But, the effort was well worth it. Very sharp looking.

Change the Windows Mobile theme first. Under System -> Today choose another theme, it can be whatever color you want. And when you execute the glossyblackbars.exe it will make the bars black and glossy. If the bars are flat, it will not work.

THanks for the theme. I am a semi-new PPC user (had a 8125 for a while then went to the...gasp...Iphone). NOw I am using a Fuze. I "installed" this theme utilizing total commander. Still can't seem to get the top bar to be black (mine is still grey) but I am sure with more research and learning I will figure it out.
Thanks for posting (and the work involved) your theme mate. Looks really nice.
