Radio ROM Update failure but CE and Extended ROM successROM and

I tried to update the radio ROM on my Universal from 1.18 back to 1.15 because I have had problems syncing under Vista since I updated from 1.15 to 1.18

I've got Windows Vista 64 Ultimate but am using VMWare Workstation with a Windows XP virtual workstation for both ROM updates and synching. This setup works fine for synching with Activesync as well as updating CE and Extended ROM updates to any version I desire.

The problem comes when I want to update the Radio ROM, the update fails every time. I've read the Wiki and tried the MTTY task 28 55aa routine with no success. The update even fails if I try to update with the same 1.18 Radio ROM so it's not likely to be a corrupted ROM image.

For Your Information: The last update I tried was Tomal 8.2. When I reboot the device it still reports ROMS as R 01.18.00, G 42.54.P8, O D.08.20 TML

Has anyone any ideas why the Radio ROM update fails.

mtty do not do any thing to Radio.

Try updating Radio over a XP machine (not virtual instance in VM ware), looks like Radio firmware stays in a separate chip inside Uni and takes time than than CE ROM or ExtROM upgrade.

One thing though, if you dont face any issue with your current radio version, do not change it, as it is 'not required'.

Somewhere in this site I read .. 'if it isnt require fixing, never try to fix it'
