Hi, not sure if this is possible, but here it goes,
i just bought my self a Brodit HTC Touch Diamond Holder with 3 in 1 Adapter
http://i.expansys.com/i/b/b171509.jpg
which is great as it allows you to connect
your charger,
3.5mm jack (which allows you to connect your AUX to your car listening to music)
and also allowing you to add an Alternative HTC PDA headphone jack
http://www.hkhightechpro.com/images/Ebay_photo/Johnnyhs321/O2%20XDA/Adapter/3in1AdapterHTC1.jpg

but i went and bought me a HTCTouch Pro Wired Remote control RC E100 to allow me to change music while driving with the remote, (handy if u got TOMTOM running in the background)
http://i.expansys.com/i/b/b169486.jpg

but when i do connect it to the alternate usb plug, it doesnt allow me to change music??????? voice recognition pops up instead
why is that???

if i connect it direct to my phone it works like a charme but when i connect it to the 3-in-1 it doesnt work, just allows music to play through the AUX acting like another 3.5mm headphone jack

any answers?

The Remote is not compatible with the audio splitter

takin right from Expansys HTC acessory description.

Note:
- Your HTC device may require a driver for this audio accessory to function correctly. If you experience any problems, then please download the driver from here (http://i.expansys.com/i/drv/rcw100driver.zi), once the driver is downloaded, the file name needs to be renamed to zip.
- RC E100 is not compatible with YC A100 Y cable or YC A200 multifunctional audio cable

couldnt there be an driver update to help support the device,

as its currently running on a driver...

ps Ive also emailed HTC support in regards to this issue...

'Hi, Ive currently purchased a "HTC Touch Diamond Wired Remote Control RC E100", and also using "Brodit HTC Touch Diamond Holder with 3 in 1 Adapter", but had later found out that there not compatible,
was just wondering is there a driver update to help support the audio splitter, as its very handy to change music while driving etc...

kind regards"

HOPEFULLY SOME ANSWER

I assume its more to do with the hard wiring of the cable split. Not driver issue.

i would have to agree. the remote works off a usb signal. running the splitter essentially splits the audio signal to one port (right) and the usb/charge signal to the (left). and the remote needs to use the usb side to send data to the diamond.

well i guess that's why iphone had invented their own universal connecter rather than having to deal with mini usb... :(

well i guess that's why iphone had invented their own universal connecter rather than having to deal with mini usb... :(:mad:that has nothing to do with it. the mini usb is a universal connector there are 11 pins in there. its the splitter thats the issue.

I have an idea,
what if i bought (havnt found one yet), a mini usb splitter?

which will then allow connecting both devices like you would connecting directly to the device,

any suggestion where i could find one?

so far no luck my self

thanks,
s

the problem is that a miniUSB only have 5 pins, so it will only split power and data.. that's why the extUSB has 11 pins. A miniUSB and 3,5mm jack would be nicer, but we have to deal with it.
