View Full Version : Bluetooth + Windows Media Performance

I just got my htc advantage x7510 and the only real problem I am having is that when I am playing music through Windows Media Player and using my bluetooth earphones the music tends to skip. It doesn't happen all the time, only once every 10 minutes or so. Using the task manager (which doesn't display the processor utilization for me?) it looks like I have plenty of memory available, so I am assuming this is a processor issue? Has anyone run into this and found a way to remedy the problem?

Some other misc questions if someone has the answer...
- I see in the forums that windows mobile 6.1 should have a task manager that displays the processor utilization... how can I get mine to display this?
- TCPMP (v.7 and the .v8) crash when you try and start them, telling you to have a look at some crash.txt file that doesn't get created.
- Is there a way to shrink the HTC Home thing when using 128 or 96dpi with realvga?

Thanks for your time.

I solved the tcpmp problem by using the cab in this thread:

Sorry to keep responding to my own posts here, but I think I am missing something entirely on my device. Both TCPMP and core player have trouble playing back video. The best benchmark I have been able to achieve with core player is 79% @ 448kbit/s.

I even went ahead and went back to 192 dpi in realvga just to be sure that the increased resolution size would not affect the performance of my device.

They only changes I have made to the standard ROM that came with the device are:
install quickmenu
install realvga
install .net compat v3.5 (followed some posts to enable this in registry and disable 2.0).
Installed Advanced Config, some relevant settings are:
- Performances
* File System Cache: Enabled
* File system cache size: 4MB
* File system filter cache: 32 sectors
* PNP unload delay: 4096
* PNP wait I/O delay: 4096
* Glyph cache: 32KB

With core player, opera and quickmenu loaded I have 60.04MB in use memory and 50.84MB free.

Some relevant settings from coreplayer pref's:
My core player settings are:
Video output: DirectDraw
Video quality:High
Smooth Zoom: on
Dither: selected
Acceleration:not selected

DirectDraw settings:
overlay with colorkey:unselected
use blitting instead of overlay:selected
use device stretching for blitting: unselected

Buffer Size:
normal buffer size:3392
preload at:70%
preload audio:64
Microdrive mode: selected
microdrive buffer size:56000
microdrive starts:1472

If anyone is successfully watching xvid/divx with 95+% playback in coreplayer, can you please post what you have done to get this working?
