when WM7 is released, what are the chances that someone will release a cooked version for the Kaiser? Is there enough RAM/ROM/CPU?

I'm sure someone will try, but I seriously doubt the HW is up to the Job.

I doubt we'll even care by the time it gets released - latest reports are claiming delays of up to 2 years...

I can remember the same questions being asked from HPC 2001 ->2002 and it only seems like yesterday we were asking the same question of WM5->WM6...

Patience....

I doubt it will, most devices will be fully VGA by then, and trying to get the OS and interfaces working on the kaiser (QVGA) might prove to be difficult.

For the time being...

I only re-itterating(sp?) what other people have said and by the tie WM7 is out i would iagine hat for 99% of people (including myself) using a Kaiser will be a distant memory and we will be using much more up to date hardware (in relation to the time when WM7 is out)

i meant, 'settle' sounds like last resort... like, "oh, well, I'll settle for android for the time being since there is nothing else at the moment...."

heh, i get the point, but my main worry is that it will be a while before the system and the apps are stable to use on a daily basis. and it will not be easy to get used to a new layout after using WM for the last 2 years.

one of the major things for me would be having proper accelerated 2d/3d drivers, but as i said, that might take some time...

also will be interesting to see if web apps can be developed and *run* on the phone... im learning Rails at the moment, would be cool to be able to use it in ways that i couldn't with WM.

Doubtful, since Android is linux based and windows mobile is based on the crushed hopes and dreams of many a microsoft programmer. ;)

I'm waiting for a dos based os. None of this gui stuff. :D Command line rules!

Nobody forces you to use the gui (like android) on linux.
ncurses-based phone app will be nice :)
