I'm having another issue with the 1.07 Sprint ROM. I've had my phone freeze on me twice today. I believe I was using Opera 9.5 beta 15233 both times. I also have ThrottleLock 0.4 running in the background as well. Think it is one of the apps causing the issue? I'll do some more testing and try to report back.

Yes it does remove all your data. It acts like a hard reset. Download and use PIMbackup if you are concerned about this. I don't worry about it because I use mail2web's free exchange server.

HEY NFS.
Great work with the ROMs, have been using them since they first started popping up on PPCGeeks, great to see you over here now.
With the new rom, is there a way to make the keyboard work with the newest version of Opera? the letters dont seem to work :S
Keep up the good work.

Quick question for you or anyone else who might know... been looking around... what is new in the 21009, 21014, and 21109 SYS/XIP? I hear there's some unreleased WM65 stuff hiding in there? Are they significantly faster or different?

21109 is a fake hex edit build. 21014 is real, and it has better battery scaling, boot time is shorter, and overall responsiveness is better.

MMS is still broken, but now you have the right version. :)
Take a look at those provxml files in that OEM i gave you as they provide the correct settings. SetMMSD.exe seems to be required as well on startup.

Hi NFSFAN,
My Bell HTC touch pairs with the car no problem. But every time a call ends. The BT pairing will turn off. I have to do it again manually. Has the been an issue in the later versions?
Thank you.

OK, I will put the OEM exactly as you gave it to me. However, the Alltel MDN is in the registry. I just used a different method to input it. Can you please check where I screwed up on the MMS thanks.

I know you are not a fan on touchpal but i have a quick question for you. Touchpal seems to work perfectly in 1.09, however in 1.10 and 1.11 touchpal can no longer "predict addresses" in SMS on Verizon. I have done searches on this and i know there are work arounds that have a drop list form when you change the registry, but they are partially blocked by top bar. In 1.09 and previous versions, touchpal worked like the full qwerty installed in the rom, but not in 1.10 or 1.11. Is there any suggestions you can make?
Thanks
P.S. Hey Harley! I feel like a NFSFAN groupie following NFSFAN on tour!! NFSFAN, your ROMS are great and congrats on the Gators and Tebo's return.

This is because the tmail.exe was swapped for the older one which has multi-select. This is why your touchpal keyboard may not work properly.

Well I guess we found a bad side effect of the old tmail... I wonder which we should use going forward..... I think I'm okay without multi-select, or using a cab to fix it, but its up to you which direction you want to go.
I'll get beta 2 on my phone tday or tmorrow, and let you know if i find anything. Thank you!

Alltel_MMS_Settings.provxml has an error in it. It may be because it is referenceing a file copy of SetMMSD.exe to the startup folder however that file does not exist. You will need to remove that reference out of the provxml file and change the registry setting called "ReportAllowed" to "0". It is set under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1.
That should take care of the MMS settings for Alltel :)

Ok this is what I did. I installed the leaked Verizon WM6.1 rom and let the customizations run. I then Unlocked the phone with cokeman 2.31, loaded v1.10 of NFSFAN custom rom, and loaded the 3.37 radio. After this I found the links to the AGPS Fix, so I proceeded with the steps to install the drivers, use QPST to update GPSone, and then installed the CAB according to the directions in the post. When I run GPS viewer, it locates GPS on COM 4, but it never connects to any satellites. When I try Google maps, it attempts to locate satellites and also never connects. Any one have any ideas as to what I might be missing. I did very my location settings aren't set to 911, and so forth.
Thanks in advance. I have been looking through posts since yesterday and I think the little lady is getting pissed that I am spending some much time on this :)

Everything is working great now. Thanks for everyones efforts here. I am a newbie and this stuff is awesome. I used to hate my 6900, but now have a new love for it. Thanks again.

Well, I decided to flash to a custom ROM for the first time since M2D came out.
I must say, incredibly nice job NFSFAN. I thought my setup was fast, your ROM is way faster. The music sounds better in my car, my games play excellent (the ones that had a bit of chop don't anymore), and I never got the photoalbum working proper in the M2D cab installs. I was just using the old HTC album instead. This is far better. I did do the regedit to get rid of the camera noise though.
I also started TomTom to test my GPS (Mine has always been awesome).....6 sec from start to sat fix. I'll test it while flying and back home in BC to be sure.
My one beef is the slide to answer, Is it possible to change that to a button instead? I browsed through a few option menus and haven't found anything yet.
Overall....solid ROM, I'm not sure why I haven't flashed your ROM in such a long time. The new one is a night and Day difference. Outstanding job.

So you installed the VZW GPS rom... did you run customizations? If so, there are a number of steps you need to take to get GPS to work on NFSFAN's roms... I can post up a link latr if u need it.
As for the first attempt, NFSFan's rom wouldn't have booted at all (it would sit at the boot splash and stick there) if you didn't put on an updated radio first.
Yes. It was the lack of an updated radio that kept stumping me.
I actually followed these instructions and this worked out perfectly:

While researching a way to change the slide to answer/ignore slider to buttons I came across this:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=53600
The dev there says he fixed the broken data arrow issue for the CDMA version of the Dialer.
If you can "deconstruct" it and figure how that's done and it helps you out....great....if not, oh well, just trying to help.

He didn't dev anything. All that was done there was to rip the CDMA Dialer from a TouchPro ROM. This won't work on our phone since its VGA. We have QVGA. All that he did was package the oem into a cab, and the black style he photoshopped it to black.

Tethering is connecting a computer to your mobile device (via usb or Bluetooth) to obtain Internet connectivity for the computer using the mobile device's wireless data connection.

You need to use the program on the phone called "internet sharing". Hit connect with that when you have the usb cable connected, and it'll install the drivers, should just work on your laptop. To share out to your desktop you'd need to do some bridging stuff on your laptop that's beyond the scope of this site, but would be the same as if you were sharing any other network connection (google is your friend)

That's pretty much it. No matter what method I tried, I couldn't get Touchpal to stay as the default keyboard. It always reverted to the tiny Microsoft qwerty. I tried SIPChange, regedits, and every version of Opera I could find. However, OMJ just remade his M2D ROM over at PPCGeeks and I was able to get Touchpal to work with Opera build 15316 on that. Not sure what the difference was though. Might have something to do with the fact that I can build Touchpal into his ROM rather than installing through UC like with NFSFAN's ROM.

Hey guys me again, got a couple questions.
1. Tethering i cant seem to make it work this is what i am doing. In active sync i checkmarked the allow wireless modem connection thing. When i connect with usb i choose internet connection sharing and then i hit connect on the next screen. The computer shows the connection as there and connected but nothing will use the connection. It just acts like i have no internet at all.
2. Customizing the look - is there a way i can change the black background, clock look, weather pictures and possibly icons to something different, without messing up the keyboards and the tray bar at the bottom which i love. Now don't get me wrong i like the look i just want to know if i get tired of it can i easily change it back and forth.
3. this problem might be related. The music note on the little task bar forever just searches for my library and never finds it so i cant use it. Also my audio manager screen opens and then immediatly closes on me so i cant set anything or do anything in that program.
4. Possible bug, i was in a phone call today and i put it on speaker briefly, upon taking it off speaker i was getting an echo of my own voice in the earpiece, i had to actually hang up and call back to fix the problem, any ideas.
5. This one is probably easy, when you install programs they just install into the programs menu, is there anyway to put them from there into specific folders. Example i installed pocket uno and pocket racko and would like the icons for launching them to be in the games folder not the programs folder. Ive been looking through the folders a bit but i'm kinda worried about messing something up.
Off the top of my head that's all the issues i needed help with and would greatly appreciate whatever help i can get. Also i fixed my weather city problem and got it working. And i'm loving this custom rom.

1. You don't need to check anything in activesync. All you do is run Internet Sharing, and press connect, or run it from the USB screen that appears when u plug in the phone.
2. Yes, there are several themes here on xda. Use manila2d customizer to put them on.
3. Not a ROM problem. Check your music directory, and delete everything that is not a music file (omit jpg or album art). Also on SDCard delete XMEdiaLibrary file
4. No idea about this. I don't use a BT headset, so I don't know. Did you happen by any chance to use the Voice Command feature over bluetooth, as that will only be fixed in the unreleased to be coming beta.
5. Using totalcommander navigate to windows dir. Then StartMenu, grab your program, and put it into games.

Thanks for the response NFSFAN really appreciate you taking the time to answer my noob questions. I'm doing as much reasearch as possible, it's just slow going where i live there is only dialup and we only get 28k dialup so some pages can take 5 minutes a page to load, i should probably just use my phone more lol.
Regarding Number 1 again - My PC sees the connection it makes it lan connection 4 but for some reason i cant get the computer to use it. It just keeps failing to load any pages i try to go to. Wondering if maybe i have to do something to make the programs see it. I tried utorrent, firefox, IE and outlook and nothing would use the phone lan connection. So i'm assuming its some stupid little thing i just havent been able to think of yet.
3. Also on SDCard delete XMEdiaLibrary file - i think this might be the issue i remember seeing it on the phone.
*edit* so i tried deleting the file and there was really nothing in there other than the folders the songs are in when there copied. Gonna try removing them all and resyncing them **edit**
4. Sorry i wasn't using bluetooth here. I was just using the phone like normal no headset, then put speaker phone on and then took it off and then the echoing started. Like i said hung up called back no echoing, it coulda just been a fluke thing.

WMDC says vista only, im on XP. As long as i don't have to have anything set in active sync i must be a computer issue. I'm sure i am doing everything right in regards to your ROM.
Start the internet on phone
open internet connection sharing hit connect
connect usb to computer
thats what im doing in that order, so gonna go play with it a bit more see if i can't get it going.
*****EDIT**** Man i feel like a doorknob i was missing 2 steps. 1 i wasn't opening a browser and going to a page to keep the connection open on the phone. And 2 i had to disable my LAN connection.
Now if i could only get it to work with my lan connection up cause thats how i share my connection around the house.

I'm using the Alltel 1.01 Beta on two Vogues (my wife's and mine) and I'm loving the ROM. Only problem I'm having now is MMS's but I'm pretty sure I caught a workaround about that in this thread somewhere so I'm gonna look back through before I start asking a bagillion questions. Also, getting aGPS to work was WAY different than on an OEM Rom but I got it figured out... think I may even write a short Tut and post it in the thread if noone minds...

I'd like to try this on my Telus HTC Touch.
I'm currently running the most updated Telus ROM.
GPS doesn't work (I know there is a way to make it work but I haven't done it yet).
Is there a step by step set of instructions to
1. make the GPS work,
2. "unlock the phone" or whatever you have to do before you install this ROM.
Do I have to do #1 before #2 or #2 before #1 or will this ROM activate my GPS?
A "for dummies" tutorial would be soooo helpful for someone like me.
If anyone has a link for me, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

To get your GPS working you need to update your Vogue's radio (to at least 3.42.30)... search around and there are many guides on how to do this.
To unlock your phone to install custom Roms head on over to http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370 and download ImCoKeMaN's Vogue Unlocker (either 2.31 if your Vogue has GPS or 0.40 is your Vogue doesn't have GPS). Simply run the downloaded file and follow the instruction as they are presented to you on the screen. This will unlock your Vogue and you can then install any custom Rom you please, including NFSFAN's.
Cheers!

Well as far as I understand it, unless your carrier offers an OEM Rom with GPS enabled (as mine did w/ Alltel), you will need to unlock your Vogue, update the radio, and then update to a custom Rom. Like I said though, I did not personally have to do this so in this regard I would recommend some hardcore Googling before you do anything else...

aGPS Tutorial
---------------------------
After installing NFSFAN's Alltel Beta 1.01 on my Vogue, one of the first things I wanted to do was to get aGPS back working again. I used Shadow-Tech's guide to install aGPS on my stock Vogue rom, but when I attempted to follow the steps again using NFSFAN's Rom, I ran into some roadblocks (i.e. - ##3424, ##3424# would not put my phone into diagnostic mode and I could not find dmrouter.exe in the \Windows\ folder). I turned to my age old friend, Google, and came across a guide for the Telus. Between that guide and some quick thinking I was able to get around these impasses with ease. So, I'm noting my experience here so that anyone who wants to get aGPS working when using NFSFAN's Rom won't have to spaz out like I did.
Note that I am not taking credit for any of this. Props should be given to:
Shadow-Tech (and gc14) with the guide on PPCGeeks.com (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=402134)
TobeyChris with his guide on PPCGeeks.com (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=31437)
and of course NFSFAN for building some a Kick-A Custom Rom
Here we go...
--OVERVIEW--
We will:
Install a PC software package called QPST that allows us to edit a portion of our phone that contains gpsOne settings.
Install WModem Drivers on the PC.
Install the CDMA1X USB Modem drivers on the PC to allow it to detect our phone running in diagnostic mode.
Put the phone in diagnostic mode, connect it to the computer, run QPST on PC, edit the gpsOne settings on the phone.
Soft reset, install the Carrier-specific Cab on the phone to adjust the Registry settings, Soft reset, and test it out.
--REQUIREMENTS--
1. Windows XP computer (Vista should work, but may or may not. If the drivers install and QPST runs, your good to go.)
2. USB cable to connect Titan to PC (duh)
3. This Software Download: QPST and WModem Drivers (http://rapidshare.com/files/142205343/QPST_2.7_b215-Wmodemdrivers.zip.html)
4. This Software Download: CDMA1X USB Modem drivers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=139729&d=1230105470)
5. This Software Download: Zip file with Carrier-specific Cabs (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15285&d=1223954519)
6. Your GPS must already be enabled.
-If you run WM 6.0 see this thread to Enable GPS: PPCGeeks (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27180&highlight=alltel+gps+easy+way)
-Or flash the Official Alltel WM 6.1 ROM that is already GPS Enabled, 6800 Only here: Alltel Rom (http://216.139.227.226/alltel/RUU_TITAN_ALLTEL_WWE_3.52.671.9_RS_TITAN_Alltel3.4 2.50_NV2.02_PPST_Ship.exe)
--CONNECT PHONE TO QPST--
1. Run Wmodemdriverinstaller.exe on your PC
2. Click install drivers, wait, once it says completed just close window
3. Install qpst_2.7b215.exe on your PC, next click through it
4. Unzip "XP Driver" with CDMA1X USB Modem drivers to a folder on your desktop
5. Open FileExplorer on your Vogue and direct it to \Windows\
6. Find Diag2.ink in the \Windows\ folder, run it (this will put your phone into Diagnostic mode), and then plug it into USB port
7. When Windows prompts you to find the correct driver, point it to the folder on your desktop with the CDMA1X USB Modem drivers in it.
8. Run the Service Programming program under the QPST start menu.
9. Double click on the little globe at the bottom right of your screen.
10. Click on Add New Port, add COM* - USB/QC DIAGNOSTIC *(the COM# might be different for some people, just select the one that says USB/QC DIAGNOSTIC), then click OK.
11. Click 'Active Phones' tab. click 'Start Clients' drop down, then click 'SERVICE PROGRAMMING'
12. Click 'OK' in 'Phone Selection' window (code is 000000)
--APPLY THE FIX--
1. Click 'Read from Phone' button in bottom left corner
2. Click 'Save to File...' button don't change name and save to your desktop. (just to have a backup)
3. Scroll over to 'gpsOne' tab (upper right corner)
4. Click all the check boxes on the left hand side so they are all blank (yes all 9)
5. THEN Click all the boxes so they are checked (yes all 9 again, I know it's strange)
6. At 'PDE IP Address' enter: 205.142.19.100 ---See post #2 of Shadow-Tech's guide if your not on Alltel!
7. At 'PDE Port Number' enter: 8888 ---See post #2 of Shadow-Tech's guide if your not on Alltel!
8. At 'PDE Transport' select: IP
9. At 'Position Calculation' select: mobile
10. Click 'Write to Phone' (lower left corner)
11. Once completed, click the Taskbar on your Vogue and select DMR v2.28 to open it back up
12. Tap exit, then 'Yes' button on the phone
13. Unplug phone and soft rest
14. Exit QPST. DO NOT SAVE CHANGES
15. Once your Vogue is rebooted, install onto it the Carrier-specific Cab file you downloaded. When finished soft reset again
--SETTINGS--
Location Setting must be ON in:
Phone\menu\options...\Services\Location Setting
Check Your GPS setting:
start/settings/system/external gps
Program Tab: Com 4
Hardware Tab: gps hardare port= none, baudrate = 4800 baud
Access Tab: check 'manage gps automatically'
--TEST--
Test Using Google Maps:
Slide to the Google Maps tab using touchflo, click Maps to open Google Maps, and click 'Use GPS'. You should aquire your Satellites within 10-15 seconds, regarless of whether your indoors or outdoors.
I take no responsibility for what happens to your phone if you use this Tutorial: Your Phone = Your Fault. Once again, I'm just sharing my experience and all credit truly goes to Shadow-Tech, gc14, TobeyChris, and NFSFAN. Good luck all and Thanks!!!

Thanks so much for the above tutorial.
So do I understand correctly, that the correct order is....
1. "unlock" the phone with 2.31.coke
2. Install the new radio.
2. Install the custom ROM
3. and THEN.... follow the instructions above to activate the GPS?
Am I correct that I shouldn't activate the GPS and THEN install the custom ROM?
Do I have the order right?
Does someone have the link to upgrade the new telus radio?

Hey,
Just updated to the Bell Beta 3 rom and I seem to be having a problem after I restore a backup of my text messages using PIM Backup. The phone completly freezes and after doing a soft reset it goes to a blank M2D screen with no tabs. It doesn't even say "Loading Touchflo". I've had it sitting for up to 10 minutes with no change. Same issue after multiple soft resets.

I had a similar issue with the Sprint 1.08 beta - text messaging kinda locked up, but I was able to close it. The phone ran VERY slowly until I soft reset. It did come back up, though.
I switched the SMS view from Threaded -> Classic this morning, went in and looked at text messages, switched it back to Threaded, and everything seems to be fine now. You may give that a try, though I'm not sure if the cause is the same. :)

That's because the browser tab defaults to Opera Mobile, which isn't included in the ROM. You need to install that yourself. I recommend:

Are you running M2DC?
I have several skins loaded, they all work including my custom skin seen in my signature.
Make sure the skins are either .zip, or .m2dc files. Place them in your themes folder (program files / M2DC / themes). Open M2DC, goto the theme page, select the theme and choose "apply theme"
If they are cab files they are installed independantly like other cab files.

The ring volume control is not working for me in Sprint 1.08 beta. I can increase the ring volume to any point (it starts out at 0%), but the setting does not actually stick. If I open the volume control immediately after it closes, the volume is back at 0%.
System volume is working properly - those changes are persisted.
Anyone else seeing this problem in the recent round of betas?

Right, here is a possible work around.
1.Make a folder (preferably on your SD card) called "M2D Themes", or whatever you would like. Place all your themes in there.
2.Open M2DC
3. Click on "ADD" under the Themes tab
4. Navigate to your new themes folder, and choose the theme you would like to add.
Let me know how it works for ya.

From what I understand all Vogues have a GPS radio built into them but the GPS function is only freed once you've updated to a particular version of a Rom...
You can unlock the Vogue with an unlocker made by ImCoKeMaN available here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370
If his phone has GPS enabled already use v2.31
If his phone does not have GPS enabled already, use v0.41

I'm on MetroPCS. I'm trying to figure out which of these roms is the most stable/enhanced because they are all different versions. I know the Sprint has extra applications like Sprint TV, which I don't need. The Alltel rom is only at version 1.01, so does this mean it isn't as advanced as the other roms?

i updated to the latest one 1.27 for BELL
but i think it has some problems
1) when i get an incoming call sometimes it just goes straight to voice mail without even ringing or vibrating.
2) when theres a incoming call it declines the call by it self. before i even answer the phone.
3) when i m talking to someone on the phone it hangs up by it self.
other then that this ROM is the best one out there.... great work bro.

I don't have any of these problems. I wouldn't release it final if it had these problems. I've called around 10 times since I've posted this, and I've been called around 7 times. It never hanged up or Declined the call, neither did it go to my voicemail. Are you sure the caller on the other line didn't hang up early or anything like that.

NFSFAN: Thanks for the ROM. Sprint 1.08 rocks - snappiest ROM yet.
I'm still seeing the volume issue I mentioned earlier, but the ringer is actually working. So now the Ringer volume slider setting is just not correctly representing the volume setting. Anyone else see this (on Sprint or otherwise...)?
EDIT: Nevermind - My Incoming Call ring type got set to "None". Once I re-enabled it, the ringer volume is actually working. It would appear, though, that the "ActiveSync: End sync" item in the notification settings is pointing to the incoming call setting.

I can add the themes from where ever, and it shows the preview, it crashed the touchflo a few times, and others, it just changed the clock's font, and thats it.
I really want to put a nice theme,
like this one (http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/6599/twal8.jpg) the blue one,
Can you test it if it works?
Thats the link to download it, for me it just changes the clock and thats it

Right, here is a possible work around.
1.Make a folder (preferably on your SD card) called "M2D Themes", or whatever you would like. Place all your themes in there.
2.Open M2DC
3. Click on "ADD" under the Themes tab
4. Navigate to your new themes folder, and choose the theme you would like to add.
Let me know how it works for ya.

I kept coming up with solutions to turn ON the "vibrate on tap" option.
Your build (Sprint 1.08) has it on by default and I was looking to turn it off, as I would like to conserve as much battery as possible.

Thank you NFSFan for a really clean complete release. Coupled with your Opera build, I'm very happy with my phone, and again have no reason to up to a diamond.
iGO8's voice synth seems to be more reliable with the higher pagepool too, so yet another thing I don't need to worry about.

+1 any word on it?
Well lets see,
OS working fine and quick took 2 separate installs with hard reboots as well as running the DCD Sprint carrier cab 2 times as well with reboots to finally bring up the internet
Music page pulls up my music from storage card fast, VERY fast and thats always something that dogs super slow first attempts for me regardless of ROM
GPS is super fast for catching a lock and location here in Las Vegas, one of the fastest Ive ran across thus far
Internet is snappy, but no faster than most of the latest ROMs I've been trying out with any real deal maker or breaker in speed
the included TF2D is buggy, screen changes missing in areas and not refreshing the graphics - not sure why if this is a ROM on 6.5 the new GUI wasnt included (at least I havent found it yet, then again I am not sure of the interface program name either so I am digging about)
ok, the phone recognizes an incoming call but does not answer NOR will it allow me to answer and the screen is hung there until the caller hangs up before releasing the screen back to me, real nasty bug there but working on it
Texting, ugly issue there - sent a test text message from my wifes HTC vogue to mine and it froze with the GUI, indicator shows it arrived and all but I have to reboot to access it, real nasty as well
Will get back with more details as I come across them, but as stated this is an ALPHA so my expectations were not all that high for it at this point

Don't expect much, as the build is fake. The file sizes mentioned in the dsms do not agree with the actual file sizes. There may be parts of 6.5, but any parts present do not work. CMHome doesn't work. Outlook live doesn't work. Lockscreen doesn't work and neither do widgets.

My current progress on the WM6.5 21139 build:
*Fixed Office --Reverted back to old build
*Removed HTCVolume
*Fixed MediaPlayer -- Hexed the shortcut to properly load the wmusic.exe
*Fixed Customizations
*Optimized SYS
*Removed animations
In the works:
*Fix messaging
*Fix calling
*Fix ringtones freezing (may somehow be related to the device lock and CMHome freezing (cmhome.dll is the only important file which shares dependencies)) --> This I believe they share a similar dependency.
EDIT: After some extensive testing, I've come to the following conclusion: CMHome depends only on the following dlls that are in the 21139 build in order to start: ccore.dll & XmlLite.dll. All other 21014 dependencies agree with the 21139 ones. So I cabbed it up, along with the lockscreen and the rest of the files and registry pertaining to it, and installed. Guess what, it froze just like on 21139 build. The problem can be either that ccore.dll is not compatible with the phone somehow, or XmlLite.dll isn't. Or maybe they are broken

Sprint 1.08
Only problem is with Sprint Nav. I had to find the sprint-navigation-htc-mogulmr-2.0.15.cab elsewhere, so that might be the cause of my problem.
The full size QWERTY won't work in Sprint Nav. Select a text field, tap the keyboard, it opens and immediately drops back down. The small keyboard works just fine. I have the touchscreen feedback vibrate set to keyboard only, could that be the problem?
Am I using the right cab? Is there a Touch specific one someone pulled out of the official ROM?

I have 3.09.666.1 and it keeps erroring out at the load screen 0%
Did you unlock your phone with imCoke's unlocker?
If not search for it.

hi nfsfan - how have you been able to get the opal/jade dialer working in your ROM ?? Are there any Cab's out there for a CDMA vogue ? Even though I like the curtain, I can still without that if I can get the slide to answer for my CDMA phone, can you please point me to a link for that....
If I can just install the original opal/jade dialer and update any images for it to display properly, I would gladly try that. I was able to install mbarvian from ppcgeeks opal/jade dialer and but the in-call screen had background that was completely white and couldn't see any letters...
the least I can get out of this if not anything else, is a bigger picture when I receive a phone call or when in-call..

I have stock sprint 6.1 rom with build 19208.
That build originally doesn't support the proper functions in aygshell.dll. You can't use that Dialer with it. I suggest that you flash a new custom ROM. No shipped ROM for the Vogue will support that Dialer.

There are a lot of themes on xda you can choose from. If you want just the clock you will have to do a bit of xml editing, and take the clock images out from an existing theme.

So far 1.27 looks awesome - really like it. Thanks NFSFAN.
I have noticed one issue. If the battery drains to critical level and shuts down you cannot get it to come back on if the usb sync/charge cable is connected. When you start it up it shuts down again before it realizes that it is plugged in.
Through trial and error I've found the secret is to start the phone *without* the cable connected, and wait until it gets to around "launching TouchFlo" and then plug it in. At this point it detects that it has been plugged in and all is well.
I don't know if this is caused by the new sys or if it is to do with the battery tweaking that has been done. I hadn't observed this problem with older roms. Anyone else seen this problem?

2 things I observed though..
1. Activesync keeps starting up without a connection
2. My sprint data arrows are always on..
are there any fixes for these ???

2. is a known issue currently without a fix. It is caused by the dialer (which was designed for another phone), so unless a solution can be found we either have to live with it or go back to another dialer. Most people like this dialer and would rather put up with the stuck arrows.

The activesync being in taskmanager is not a problem. It is always on regardless. Other ROM cooks choose to hide it. If it is killed, push mail will not work properly.

I love the sprint latest update, The freezing problem i had with 1.7 disappeared, it is much more stable. Thank You!
2 things though,
1. I get the bell intro screen a blue background with a white bell logo on my sprint phone.
2. It uses a few percent more ram, 1.7 was using 30% 1.8 is using about 37% before opening any program.
and one suggestion, why not include a task manger that shows the running processes too? its not big in file size, and we all end up installing one.
otherwise I love it! one of the best I ever used.

hey NFSFAN, having a bit of a problem that I haven't had in previous versions...
using bell 1.27
1 - phone signal is cutting in and out by itself, not using the phone or using any apps. maybe this is due to the snow storm in toronto? not sure, just never had this problem before with your previous ROMs
2 - updating weather, sometimes i get everything blank (0 degrees), with no weather images loading. also never had this problem before with your previous ROMs, once again maybe something to do with the signal around toronto today?
thanks NFS, love all the updates

There is no way that you could have got 30% memory with 1.7. It has always been between 36-39%. The bell intro screen is because you flashed a shipped bell ROM, which you shouldn't.

I have been looking through posts since yesterday and I think the little lady is getting pissed that I am spending some much time on this :)
same here, mine is 3.42.50 bell rom then flashed with latest NFSFAN verizon custom rom. everythings okay, but agps doesn't seem to work...
when i had 3.37 radio with http://www.atwistedweb.com/xv6900/index.html long time ago, then used qpst method to get my agps working...it worked as a charm...awww....any ideas???
edit: i heared that if i had mr1 firmware, then upgraded to custom firmware again, it has the problem. i have to downgraded[?] to stock rom, but i don't know how to and i'm not that brave..:(
can someone help me??

First off I just wanted to say that I think this is one of the best rom out for the Vouge right now, coming from WDM`s 1.6 rom thats saying alot. There are many things I love about this that WDM`s rom didn`t have, its alot cleaner, love the opal dialer, and the large menus. One thing I noticed off the bat is lack of finger friendly scrolling that I had on WDMs. I installed Ftouchflo and indoing so disabled touchresponse, I was wondering if there are some reg settings I can mess with to get it back.

there is nothin hard u have to do jus do this:
1)after you download it just extract the file in a new folder
2) Then goto that folder and u will "ROMUpdateUtility" double click on that.
3) just follow the instructions that appears on your computer screen after.

Forgot a step there...
Step 1B) Unlock the phone using IMCOKEMAN's unlocker - this needs to be done as without unlocking the phone you will get to the rainbow screen and then an error code - search for it and you will find it, just dont use a locker or .41/.40 (cant remember the version right off the top of my head at the moment)

3.42.30 is just one level of radio versions that exist, Im with sprint and currently running 3.42.50 by flashing a bell radio flash/rom then doing a hard reset before anything runs and then flashing to the correct ROM I wanted to run on it (currently NSFfans ROM)
not a huge difference in the 3.42.30 to 3.42.50 other than some report faster GPS locks and better tower/reception usage and the like
But as long as the required level of at 3.42.30 or higher your OK, no need to up that level until you are more experienced at flashing ROMs and more importantly getting out of stuck or psuedo-bricked states LOL

Hi;
I have a question regarding using my mobile device as a GPRS modem for a browsing online an XP notebook. I currently use a Bell Mobility VOGUE100 Touch device with the NFSFAN V1.27 ROM. My question is; would my phone provider charge me extra if I use the Internet Sharing tool with NFSFAN's ROM installed? I also tried a trial version of PdaNet which worked OK and did later found out that Bell did not charge me extra. I find that the D & U packets are super slow @ 2.4Mbp/s connected.
An MS link states some providers might charge the users if Internet Sharing is used.

From what I understand the internet sharing tool works like PDAnet. You won't get charged from bell for tethering unless bell figures out a way to audit for that specifically.

It plays well with bookmarks off the M2D internet tab etc. I'm not worried about amount of tabs etc as opera:config can sort out many options.
Edit: did a search and came up with this thread, It doesn'tanswer all my questions (haven't found a change log yet) but it helps:

I also prefer the bottom zoom, really can't stand the side slider and preview pane (though that can be edited out).
What's new in the version you found? What previous build is it similiar to?
Thanks,
Jason

Thanks, NFSFAN.
Haven't figured how to change using the Customizer. :o No worries, the effort will teach me how to use it. As well, learning what footprints and IOLITE goodies are while reading thru these.
I'm on a roll with inquiries, did the RSS Hub get deleted? I better change my info and add I have the HTC Touch Vogue
Again thanks.

I use this one. You have to flash this, since it is the 2nd bootsplash, right after the HTC one that shows radio, rom version. It is a neat bell logo blue on black background. Only for BELL USERS!!!!!

NOTE: Because of the footprints addition in the new M2D, this will increase ram usage by ~10%.
This should only be when using the program, correct? If constant increase, is there a way to remove it? I am not overly interested in the program/feature, but love your 1.08 Sprint Rom, hoping to use your 1.09
