Just finished flashing.
Everything is working fine here. No bugs or slowness or anything. Acts just like V13 except for the enhancements. Will test this way for a while then load my favorite apps.

I did find one thing with the GSM dialer. Although I like it better, it has an annoying lag on my CDMA phone. So I've been using the CDMA dialer with the volume control cab. It's fast and I hardly miss the GSM dialer.
I also had the mega dialer installed and it would miss calls, it was soooooo slow. So I'm guessing the mega GSM dialer, as posted in another thread, is only for GSM.

OK, maybe I am a little harsh on that. I did not find this mentioned in the faq either. :) Anyway, this procedure has been mentioned hundreds of times in this thread though. Reflash to stock, then flash custom rom 3 times. I used to skip the stock flash, but there was always some strange bugs following that. Once I strickly follow that above routine, my phone has been 100% bug free since then.:D

I am pretty sure that excepte the hardware issues, most of the issues complained by the incomplete flash procedure in this thread will likely be fixed by following the 1 X stock, 3 X custom procedure. You might be lucky so far if you haven't got any problems by flashing 1 time.

Actually that's not 100% correct. You don't hard reset 3 times, you actually re-flash the latest version 3 complete times. If your first flash didn't install 100%, hard resetting will not help the already faulty flashed ROM.
So again:
Flash to your stock ROM and let customizations run
If wanting to upgrade the radio, follow the procedure for that.
Flash NFSFAN's 6.5 V14 Rom 3 complete times, letting customizations run.

Update:
I have been playing with the new V14 ROM since installing it a couple of hours ago. It has to be the fastest and smoothest ROM yet! So far flawless, with the exception of the known (NOT ROM RELATED) manila settings tab wallpaper settings and not being able to add tabs to Manila. I t is so stable I didn't wait and installed my splash screens and all my programs, Sprint TV, TomTom, Select Radio and more. My screens seem to slide better as well.
So for me, this is a home run. Thanks again NFSFAN

While it is always best to flash to stock, you can flash 3 times without flashing to stock first. However, if you experience things like no gps, intyernet or phone, random re-booting, automatic hard re-setting or just plain sluggishness, go back to the egg..

I've actually skipped the flash to stock myself, so I didn't have to upgrade the radio. Since NFSFAN's ROMS have gotten so good, I don't do weird tweaks to my phone anymore. So I try to skip the first step and if all goes well, I'm good to go. If not, I just start all over. I can honestly say I have been batting 100% with his ROMS.

Actually the 100% trouble free way is to flash back to stock. Since I am in the business, I have played extensively with various ways to screw up a phone or be successful. Shortcuts usually equal headaches. But sometimes we get lucky.

I can confirm the wired headset problem, has been around for me since V12 (some claim sooner, it did work in V10).

As stated, person you are calling has problems hearing you. Yes this is wiith the supplied HTC headset out of the box.

If you read back a few pages (you know, 20-30 with all the useless sh####), you'll see many of us were discussing it trying to come up with a solution.

Awesome ROM from the 30 minutes I've played with it.

This has been discussed many, many times.

Here it is again:

1. NFSFAN reccomends flashing from bootloader mode, letting all customizations run, then hard reset. In the past when some people have had problems he reccomended to reflash to stock first then follow the above

2. This eventually morphed into the procedure in CB's FAQ.

Not everyone follows it, but if you do I can guaruntee you 150% you will not have any annoying small problems like alot of users report. With one of the 6.5 updates alot of people were claiming small bugs, I purposfully flashed ONCE from active sync and surprise surprise....I was able to recreate a bunch of the "problems".

AT LEAST follow NFSFAN's reccomend (bootloader / hard reset), you'll have a smoother ride.

It depends on what screen it is. My phone shows 4 screens. The first 2 are usually embeded in the ROM. The last 2 are png files in the windows dir. welcomehead.96.png is the last screen you see. I changed that one but could not find the others.

Seeing as the system and xip didn't change I don't doubt that. I did not flash back to stock for this reason as well, so far after 3 hours of extensive testing (LOVE the new email setup), everythings rock-solid. If the build version of 6.5 changes it's better to follow CB's procedure for a guarranteed solid flash.

Are you guys using the HTC supplied headphone adapter, or are you using a wired headphone that has the direct jack? I was using an HTC headphone that didn't use the adapter, and I thought it was bad and tossed it - didn't try a set with the 2.5" jack that plugs into the headset adapter - did you try both ways?

1.HTC supplied Headset. WITH dual USB also.
2.BT headset, BT car sync and BT stereo system.

Then i test the phone itself, Speakerphone/normal.

i've only ever flashed from Win7 (starting with v9) and have flashed various roms in between versions of NFSFAN's roms, and i only have ever flashed one time. haven't had problem 1 with any roms that weren't known software bugs.

I'm using Vogue on Sprint as well. Never required/needed to install the sprint provisioning. All things worked perfectly on V14.. GPS + Data + voice.

That's not a ROM bug. Manila has a few migration problems where not everything works. That is one of the problems. There may be a way you can hack the registry to change it, but using the customizer won't save the change. You cannot add the TV tab and a few other features won't work as well.

PEOPLE, When posting a problem or glitch, please be as specific as possible. Mention your carrier, the method you used to flash your phone, what other tweaks you performed on your phone, etc.Typing "I have no GPS" or "My phone's not working" doesn't give us a lot to go with. Most problems are carrier or installation related.

Go to Start / Settings / Connections / Connections / Manage Existing Connections / Edit / Next / Next.
Type in your username, password and domain. The username and password is what you gave Sprint, when you signed up for Sprint mail. The domain is sprintpcs.com. For some reason, and only occasionally, you have to fill this in or you get no Data whatsoever.

Another weird situation is, sometimes when I flash, I cannot use any data services, while connected to the PC through USB. Other times, like now, I can have the phone plugged in and still use data services. ICS has always worked either way, which makes it more puzzling. I have never been able to figure these out.

Neither of these are ROM related, but more like Sprint related....

I see NO bluetooth notification when disconnecting. I get a little headset symbol at the top of the screen and it goes away when disconnected.

so far v14 has been the best ROM to date. i miss the scroll arrows on the menus and the default email wizards are a little funky. call response is soooo much better. BT calls were a nightmare. can't wait to try that out.

6.1 V:1.12 can not run Opera 9.7b1, pages do not display porperly and it hangs up. Ran fine on the stock Sprint ROM. Is there a fix for this? I need full PC page browsing to check my banking info and PayPal (IE6 does not display my bank webpage correctly)

Or is there another browser that will display full desktop pages such as ebay and paypal (not mobile) that will work with 1.12ROM? IE6 keeps wanting to give me the mobile webpage versions...

another bug i noticed (can some confirm pls) - when clicking on Sync Data in the Settings Tab, it opens up Mail setup and not active sync...

also, when I connect my phone to PC, it displays a dialog for activesync, disk drive, etc.. and i click on active sync, my phone does not connect via active sync like it should...
but if i just leave it alone and dont click on the active sync option pop-up, after the pop-up goes away on the phone, active sync normally starts up on my computer..

can anyone pls confirm the above two bugs.. i am using windows XP with activesync 4.5, sprint vogue...

ok... i am completely stumped by this. i have never been able to get the sprint provisioning .cab to work for me. when i first loaded v13 i thought maybe i did something wrong. now with v14 i still cannot get gps or sprint tv or anything. when i load the nfsfan sprint provision it tells me that the file(.cab) was designed for an earlier version of WinMo and may not function properly. can anyone help me?

Go to Start / Settings / Connections / Connections / Manage Existing Connections / Edit / Next / Next.
Type in your username, password and domain. The username and password is what you gave Sprint, when you signed up for Sprint mail. The domain is sprintpcs.com. For some reason, and only occasionally, you have to fill this in or you get no Data whatsoever.

Another weird situation is, sometimes when I flash, I cannot use any data services, while connected to the PC through USB. Other times, like now, I can have the phone plugged in and still use data services. ICS has always worked either way, which makes it more puzzling. I have never been able to figure these out.

Neither of these are ROM related, but more like Sprint related....

I see NO bluetooth notification when disconnecting. I get a little headset symbol at the top of the screen and it goes away when disconnected.

It's a really nice bt notification that basicly says that the handset has been disconnected, and to use the phone directly..

i got the BT notification too. message window, pops up, says disconnected, place phone to ear. i can see how this can be annoying. don't see how to turn it off.

There is NO default Chinese support in this English version WinMo, what did you use for Chinese support in previous versions? Try google search to find sunglobe.cab and then A4_PPC_SIP_QVGA_v2.0.45.rar, install them in sequence, and you will be all set for typing and reading Chinese!:D

Just upgraded to the v14 WM6.5 ROM. No problems flashing, everything works great.

Only one problem for me... I don't know how to get the Manilla2D interface back :(

When I go:
- "Start --> Settings --> Today", Toggle off "Windows (Default)" and toggle on "TouchFlo"
- Then "Start --> Settings --> System --> Manilla2D Customizer" and load one of my M2D themes, then apply it...

... all I get is the message "Loading TouchFlo" on a "Blank" Today Screen background. I never actually get the TouchFlo interface back.


Sorry if this has been explained somewhere... I searched a bit and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

then you might have had a bad flash. V14 has been extremely fast and stable from my testing, the Chinese support using sunglobe and a4 has been working perfectly, as before. It has worked perfectly in all previous versions I tried. I would suggest flash back to stock rom, and then reflash 3 times the V14 rom. Or you can send me message for the issue with the Chinese support, see if I can reproduce it on my phone. Cheers.

NFSFAN, I tried adding the custom XML file with more Canadian cities for the Weather Tab in TouchFlo but when I try to add the city, I get the following error:

"Unable to retrieve data for selected city."

Anyway to fix this? I am able to use the same city in the Titanium weather panel and it works just fine. I am using the latest v14 ROM.

so far v14 has been the best ROM to date. i miss the scroll arrows on the menus and the default email wizards are a little funky. call response is soooo much better. BT calls were a nightmare. can't wait to try that out.

my "oringal blue" m2d theme doesn't work. anyone know of theme that will?

I never even saw scroll arrows, so I guess I won't miss them. My email wizards seem to work the same and I love the M2d theme that's the default. It has kind of a 3d background. I use classic blue as my today theme, as I like the blue better than all the rest.
I have used the phone extensively with V14 installed and have not found one flaw. Battery life for me seems way better. This is the BEST ROM to date for sure.

6.1 V:1.12 can not run Opera 9.7b1, pages do not display porperly and it hangs up. Ran fine on the stock Sprint ROM. Is there a fix for this? I need full PC page browsing to check my banking info and PayPal (IE6 does not display my bank webpage correctly)

Or is there another browser that will display full desktop pages such as ebay and paypal (not mobile) that will work with 1.12ROM? IE6 keeps wanting to give me the mobile webpage versions...

The rest of the ROM seems perfect, very fast!! I'm very pleased!!

You can change IE to use the mobile browser or desktop. works perfectly for me.

the new TF is finicky. You cannot use your old themes. You also cannot add some tabs.

At first I felt the touch response was not so good but I kept on with it. Then it froze up on me and soft resetting it acts like a hard reset and makes me begin from scratch. To be fair I re-flashed to a stock ROM then flashed v14 3 times even though that makes no sense whatsoever and its still a slower/less stable ROM than VIN's No Manilla from PPC Geeks or WDM's Mega ROM. I don't see how this is the fastest or best at all. I can't even do much on the phone without it slowing down or freezing up. I had this same issue with an earlier version months ago (V4 or V5).

I'm actually sending this message from Android because when I try to use IE the phone freezes after I start typing and clicking on icons/links

And why can't I install Opera? I used Total Commander which froze up my phone the first time I tried it and was able to install Skyfire but Opera still won't install. Its the same Opera I use on Vin's or WDM's ROMs.

I think Touch Commander is your problem. Every time I have used it with one of NFSFAN's ROM's I've had issues. As soon as I get rid of it and re-flash all is well.

NFSFAN gives you a choice on his ROMs of which interface you want to use - the "honeycomb"/Windows 6.5 is the default - to change, go to settings/today/items/uncheck "windows default", and check "touch flo" - close out and you will be good to go

open up m2d customizer, click on the bottom tab called restore, then click on restore home settings, this should fix your problem;)

there is no honeycomb interface, thats the new 6.5 today interface, just uncheck windows default and put a check mark in the touchflo box and you will be set

If you flash once, you may have success, even for a while. there have been reports where the phone is stable for a couple of days, then starts locking up or reboots. Some argue here, ( a recent post claims that flashing 3 times makes no sence), that flashing 3 times is a waste of time. But I can tell you, from experience, that if you don't take short cuts, you will have 100% success.

It sounds to me that you may not even have a Vogue, or you have a hardware problem, or you are just flashing wrong. Because everything you claim is not happening to 90% who have already flashed their phones.

If this is not some ploy to smear or attack NFSFAN, and you are telling the truth about your problems, then I suggest flashing back to stock and flash your phone 3 full times. Oh and make sure it is a Vogue.

Hi. It's not a big deal, it just happened once. It's probably just something that hang the system, maybe a software I installed or something else. Anyways, it does not really matter, it's probably the first time, since V1 that something like this happend to me.

For now, V14 works great for me, I love it!!! Only complain is that bluetooth disconnect notification that happear... I posted another message about it.

My Windows 6.5 default is not honeycomb at all. My start menu that is the default from the ROM, is a clean angled 3 columns with a white lighting on the selected icon. I have the phone booting into TF2, but also use the start menu a lot.

This is a new issue - it actually seems to take root in the installation of the Flexilis program last week - It didn't work, so I uninstalled it - since then, the "location" bullseye indicator on any dialer I use has an line going through it, like my location is not on - this behavior has continued with the new flash to V14 - I went back to square one, re-setting the radio using the original AGPSwiki instructions, and flashing all the way back to V14 - GPS works, i get good locks, texts, phone calls, etc. - all is great, but this indicator is bugging the heck out of me - I've tried turning the location setting on and off, and the indicator will lose the line, but when I restart, the line through the indicator comes right back - I've attached a screen shot - any ideas? Did flexilis to something the radio? I haven't tried making a 911 call - should I?

No one said there was a need. This is a suggestion to eliminate problems and bugs. 90% of the people who don't, are the ones here posting problems they are experiencing. And it doesn't matter what other chefs say regarding this ROM. You will find mention of flashing multiple times in the support sections of most manufacturers websites. When HTC released the last official ROM for the Vogue, they suggested a double flash to eliminate problems.
Trust me, you can flash a ROM chip many many times before the chip will malfunction.

Well, last night before I went to sleep the hard reset problem happened again. So this morning I got up, flashed back to the Telus 6.1 ROM, did the unlocker again, and then did this:

1. I would go to the rainbow screen (I know it has a technical name, I can't recall it), it said Coke 2.31,
2. flashed up v14,
3. let it customize,
4. repeat 1,2,3
5. repeat 4
6. did a hard reset

And that's where I'm at. It's been running trouble free now for about three hours. I will say that, other then the hard resets, v14 is running... well, frecken awesome. Man, it's smooth as silk. My only other snag is that I can't get my GPS to get a lock. I did run the Telus provisioning cab. In gps viewer it can see anywhere from 4 to 8 satellites, but it never locks. I'm not to concerned about it though, all the other improvements totally trump not having gps.

Every time I flash, I run the NFSFAN Sprint Provisioning.cab and the NFSFAN Sprint GPS Registry.cab. So I'm assuming that dcd_Sprint_Carrier_20090109.cab is totally different. I haven't had any problem with provisioning or GPS, but this would explain why some are having an issue. Thanks for the tip.

lol... has nothing to do with your ROM!
Android removes WM from the RAM when you're launching... change your panel type to 3 in the default.txt...

So it took me forever to flash mine, Kept getting the 262 error. Finally ran it from the zip followed the dos prompts, then followed the RUU update utility and it worked Great!!!!! I have a XV6900 which had 6.1 on it. I updated the radio, then updated to V14.

Some problems with the V14 6.5 I'm noticing are the keyboard in text messages, I use the compact qwerty and when i first type something in and hit space it dissapears, then the other thing is when i select something from the word suggestions, I have it set to put a space after it, It doesn't. (nvm Camera does work, Soft reset fixed whatever was wrong)
Anyone else notice??

Anyone else having problems having the audio manager scrolling work properly. I flip the screen to scroll up, but it doesn't work correctly until the 3-4 flip...then it finally flows more than a page worth. Even then, the scrolling doesn't seem as fluid/kenetic as the Start Menu screen. Similarly, is there a way to set the Windows Media player as the default for that tab?

By the way, I've been using these ROMs since around V10 or so, and I must say that this one is tops...the added features/touches are awesome and bring new life to my phone. I tried other ROMs this past week since I knew I was going to flash V14, and I must say, the appearance (down to font and icon size) and functionality you add tops all. And to be honest, I didn't typically use the Manila theme on previous builds simply due to appearance, but this one has caught my attention and has become my norm...nice work NFSfan...much appreciated.

On the phone or the card? you need to hard reset if its the phone... an app must have corrupted or you had a bad flash.

You probably have a bad flash. Try a hard reset first to see if it corrects the problem. If not I would re-flash the ROM again.

What was your exact method of upgrading? What version ROM did you have before upgrading? If you were running a factory ROM, did you hard reset first?

Did you unlock with 0.41 or 2.31? Should be using 2.31. Mine did the same thing when I used 0.41. I re-unlocked with 2.31, then went through the entire flash process again...haven't had a problem since. Weird thing was, mine would reset when I unplugged the USB cable; if I left it plugged in, I was ok...but as soon as I pulled it...lights out.

I swear these ROM's (I'm using v13 right now) make me love my phone more and more everytime I use it. V13 is working so well and I like the color scheme (I chose Rod Aran Orange), threw on TomTom, Opera Mini, SelectRadio, Astraware Boardgames, MusicID, and everything works flawlessly, at least as far as I've noticed.

Has anyone tried to get Midomi working on their Vogue yet?

You guys crack me up... I have never flashed more than once and have never had an issue. So the "YOU MUST FLASH AT LEAST 3x!" is BS...Just do it correctly and your going to be fine. After each flash I install the carrier cab as well as the MMS (Verizon) and the GPS provisioning and no problems, ever... Also a little tip to make your life a little easier post-flash. Before flashing your phone copy your Start Menu folder in the windows directory to the SD card. Then after you flash just copy the folder from the SD card back to the Windows directory and boom you icons are back to normal, no more re-installing icons and moving them which is a pain in the arse...

The changing sound with top bar is not a bug, but a non ROM related program change.

Weather is working fine here as well. The bug, as some choose to call it, is really a non ROM related weather module problem.

I haven't found one bug, resulting from my upgrade to V14.

With regard to negative comments:
They can get very irritating and upsetting at times. Some go as far as laying blame, go on the attack, become demanding, etc. Everyone is a critic and most don't know what effort goes into the work. This ROM has been out for a couple of days, and there are already complaints about slowness, dislikes, bugs (most don't exist), missing features and programs, colors, icons and more. The paint is still wet on this one and we already have (My favorite) "when is the next ROM coming out, Can't wait".

I'm enjoying the heck out of V14 and am 100% happy with the performance of my phone. While I like seeing new ROMs as much as the next person, and would miss new upgrades, I would be totally satisfied, if this was the last ROM he ever created for the Vogue.

No one ever said "YOU MUST FLASH AT LEAST 3x!" It is a suggestion to help resolve any malfunctions that someone may be having with their phone.

You are one of the lucky ones that have no problems. It's nice to be able to brag that you flashed 1 time and achieved success and claim any other suggestion is BS. But this just isn't true for some. Some that have problems can flash over and over again and the problems remain the same, until they flash multiple times. What would be more helpful is if you type up your exact flashing method, so you can help other users achieve the same success you did.
Also, your suggestion to save your start menu only works part of the time, as you may find that some of the links, for the icons shown on your start menu, will not work.
Sometimes you can hard reset and flash one time with success. Other times there will be problems. So, it's safe to say, that if someone is not as successful as you, and they are experiencing Anomalies, they should try an alternative method to achieve success.

upped to v14 from v13 and my email counter stays with one new message unread on the counter in touchflow manilla and wont go away.

and when i unplug my usb connection the sync arrows stay active instead of going back to 3g.

- Manilla themes that use rectangular graphic blocks behind the digital clock on the today screen don't seem to fit anymore. I was using the Diamond Gold theme that worked great with v13. NFSFan's default theme looks fine, but the graphic is a little smaller. Is this related to a font change or something?
- The manilla internet tab no longer seems to work with browsers other than IE. It seems to ignore the alternate browser link you specify in Manilla Customizer. I always used /Windows/OperaL.exe.
- Audio Manager font is so large that the song title obscures the start and end times a little.
- Launcher program icons are blank for applications included in the ROM. Icons seem to work for 3rd party installed apps.

I had that. If you go into Outlook and open up your "Outlook Email" folder you'll likely find a Windows Tip and Tricks email in there. That's your one unread email. If you have set up another account, like an imap gmail or something, this email appears twice, once in each account.

update to my post, I love this sOOOOO MUCH, What a big difference from 6.1 from Verizon.

Still having problems with the GPS, Maybe someone could offer some help. I just flashed for the first time. 2.31 unlocker, then to V13, Then I noticed the next day V14 and flashed that. Then I was trying to get the GPS to work. Seen about updating the radios so I followed the steps for that with the GPS hack. Flashed HTC Sprint update, didn't let the customizations run. etc. Then I reflashed to V14. Got the phone set up. I went to follow the Agps hack here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VerizonAGPSFix. But i cant get the phone to be recongized as USB, like it says, I would like to try getting the GPS up any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other than that no problems with the rom!!!! except it doesn't add the space after the word suggestions when you select them all the time and the first word dissapears sometimes when entering a text,but its random and only the first time though when it happens.

yea that pretty much means you jacked up your m2d. unless you made a backup of the theme you had before you're going to have to hard reset. unless someone else knows a better way...

I'm with Bell, i never had to get any provisioning cab installed before.
Now i just did try to install Bell provisioning cab, no success.

GPS viewer showed fine for me, I installed TomTom, used Google maps and it locked the same as before.

I am halfway through my "Mega BlacK" theme. It will replace all the brown with the old green from V13, but keep the colour icons. A few other cosmetic changes as well.

For all those installing other themes, everytime a new version of Manilla comes out generally (not always) old themes stop working. If while installing a new theme you change your HTChomesettings.xml file you will garble your homescreen or mess up TouchFlo enough that it will no longer launch.

When my Mega-Black is ready I will include the "Mega-standard" for those who like the new look. It will be fully compatible with the new Mega version of Manilla (M2d 2.0) hence the name.

I can confirm it does the same thing. We're not talking about email but rather messages. I installed and looked through the new HTCHomeSettings.xml to see if I could find the problem. It's not a ROM bug for sure. For now I just tap "all messages". It may take time to find and fix the manila problems that are being discovered. The new fixed HTCHomeSettings.xml fixed a couple of bugs, but not that one.

UPDATE:
I installed the Sprint_Arcsoft_MMS_5_1_.0.82.79.cab and now you can tap the icon or use menu / new in the Messages tab and the new sms/mms screen will pop up.

After installing the ROM, go to Start / Settings / System / Manila2D Customizer / Restore. Use the backup buttons to backup both Settings and Theme. Then you can go back to the same place and use the restore buttons, if you mess something up.

Ok ... i finally got an issue .. when I open file manager ... i am seeing a lot of corrupted files. I think this is why my phone has been locking up. I have only installed Arsoft, Provisional Cab for verizon and loaded my contacts using myphone app.

I finally finally fixed it ... looks like i had some old files that in memory. I flashed back stock vzw ... did not let customizations run and then flashed .14. I have't had any corruptions what so ever in the last 5 or so hours.

I found that I needed the Sprint provisioning tool 'IOTA_1128.CAB' which has all of my data features back up and operational.


Go to Start / Settings / Connections / Connections / Manage Existing Connections / Edit / Next / Next.
Type in your username, password and domain. The username and password is what you gave Sprint, when you signed up for Sprint mail. The domain is sprintpcs.com. For some reason, and only occasionally, you have to fill this in or you get no Data whatsoever.

Another weird situation is, sometimes when I flash, I cannot use any data services, while connected to the PC through USB. Other times, like now, I can have the phone plugged in and still use data services. ICS has always worked either way, which makes it more puzzling. I have never been able to figure these out.

Neither of these are ROM related, but more like Sprint related....

How do I change the default browser set in the Internet tab? I want to use Opera as the default one and I tried changing it through Manilla Customizer but its not doing anything. Its still opening IE. I also edited the registry value but it doesn't seem to work.

It's not a ROM bug but a dialer bug and the icon has a mind of its own. You can turn location off then on and the icon is correct. Then you can re-boot or even close the phone dialer and re-open it and it may be back to the disconnect icon. I would just ignore it, as it does not affect any functions.

I can confirm that bug, and it happened on v13 too, but it's pretty minor and not much of a problem.

I can also confirm that clicking the new message button in the M2D tab does nothing.

Now what I consider a major problem: I am 100% sure the wired microphone bug is still here in v14.

I can confirm it does the same thing. We're not talking about email but rather messages. I installed and looked through the new HTCHomeSettings.xml to see if I could find the problem. It's not a ROM bug for sure. For now I just tap "all messages". It may take time to find and fix the manila problems that are being discovered. The new fixed HTCHomeSettings.xml fixed a couple of bugs, but not that one..

UPDATE:
I installed the Sprint_Arcsoft_MMS_5_1_.0.82.79.cab and now I can tap the icon or use menu / new in the Messages tab and the new sms/mms screen will pop up. It's now fully functional. So it appears some sort of mms cab file needs to be installed to make it functional.

It happened to me before when I installed a theme that didn't work correctly with the V13 build. Did you install a theme recently? If so, I would uninstall the most recent one you installed, go back into the today screen settings and select one of the included themes, then soft reset.

Yes same for me, all texts gone usually after a restart. Also M2DC's internet tab doesn't work; if you change launcher to 4 rows the icon name is crunched/unreadable, and couldn't get custom cities to download. This was the fastest and most stable 6.5 NFSFAN roms that I have tried.

Well pretty much the same.
Notable things that i immediately recognized:

NFSFAN put in htc mega stuff.. Theme
The settings tab in manilla 2d is similar to newer touchflo 3d devices (what i mean by this is the sound tab is skinned by htc as opposed to the clunky windows look.)
Performance To me this build seems alot snappier/faster. When i click on contacts on the manilla page it opens faster than any other build ive used.
The notifications menu (when u touch the top taskbar thing) its rhodium/topaz style. Also new text msg that appear on your screen from the bottom is skinned just lik newer htc devices.
manilla 2d's program tab actually has the name of the program (before it was just the icon...now its icon and name)


These are just some of the major things that ive noticed that differ from build 13 and below.

Uninstall it and see if it fixes the problem. If not do a hard reset. If that doesn't work, re-flash and do not install anything until you are sure your phone is stable. 90% of problems are caused by 3rd party apps and utilities.

I suggest a re-flash, as none of those problems exist with this ROM. Usually, if you experience unusual glitches, it is caused by a bad flash or an installed cab. Some of the new manila cabs that are floating around are not 100% compatible with the Vogue. I installed the new HTC GSM dialer and thought all was fine, until I started getting phone calls. There was such a lag I couldn't answer the phone before they hung up.

First get the new HTCHomeSettings.xml file and copy it to your windows directory using Total Commander, as this fixes a few items like messed up message numbers. Then follow the posted directions and you will get your city to work, if supported.

ok, heres the deal, the manila used in v14 is a new version of manila2D so there for, older manila 2d themes will not work, some apps will not work, etc... until new releases and fixes come out. just be patient. these program and updates came from the new htc mega which is a gvga device but wasnt designed for the vogue but developers like NFSFAN is working diligently to get these new updates to work for us. Are there going to be bugs, answer, absolutely! but can these bugs be fixed, answer, absolutely, but NFSFAN and otheres need time to come up with fixes and patches. the bottom line is, v14 is the fastest and best cdma vogue rom there is, if you can find a better one that offers more stability and newer updates then go ahead cause i havnt found one yet. but i will say this,plz donate for the continued support of our vogues...hint hint:rolleyes:

With Manila Disabled the notification enhancements are still there meaning when you tap in the top bar you get a (very nice) new skin showing the top bar info such as battery % and evdo connection as well as a nice list of message notifications.

Also with Manila Disabled you do not get the menu notification, which is a new skin when you tap a soft key and the menu comes up. I personally like the standard winmo 6.5 menu than the manilla menu

Also the "first post" , which happenes to be on page 238 would be a good place to start if you want to know changes in this rom fro the last.

Lastly, I am running sprint vogue with 3.42.30 flashed 3 times after stock and I was wondering if there is a way to disable the menu enhancments with m2d2 running, and my new message button does not work as well, and i get the phantom messaging screen that others have been getting i should add that i still have these problems and i installed sprint picture mail.

I renamed iexplore.exe to iexplore1.exe first just so I can put it back if I wanted to. Now when anything looks for explorer it launches Opera (or Skyfire) and works with no problems at all!

Thanks for that - I feel somewhat better - I have another questions - I was concerned about 911 working properly, so I made a test call, which put the phone in "Emergency" mode - there was a message that said to push "exit" to get out of emergency mode, but after pushing everything I could, the only way to get out of emergency mode was to soft reset - is that what's supposed to happen?

Alright I'm so happy with this rom.... Really stable!!!, I finally got the GPS to work, Should have walked outside lol, It was working the whole time, Just not Agps, which is no big deal...

So Other than That I have had no problems, I am wondering I have read the link you provided, and searched, But with the compact keyboard, The first word i type then hit space the word disappears, then after that when I click on another suggested word, I have add a space set in the T9 settings, it doesn't add the space, Any idea or direction you could point me to fix this??

The MMS cabs are carrier specific. I'm with Sprint so I used the cab specified for Sprint in CodyBear's FAQ. I would check there for more info pertaining to your carrier.

There is NO default Chinese support in this English version WinMo, what did you use for Chinese support in previous versions? Try google search to find sunglobe.cab and then A4_PPC_SIP_QVGA_v2.0.45.rar, install them in sequence, and you will be all set for typing and reading Chinese!:D

I read through that process last night but I don't see how it would be any different than updating the cities xml file.

I was able to clear out the cities on the weather tab. Went into the registry and wiped out the cities that weren't working.

Going to try a few things with the xml file and post my findings if I have any success.

Chinese is not supported in the US version. There may be a way to get Chinese support, but I do not know of it.

There is no analog clock available. You have to perform some modifications in order to get an analog clock to work. I would search XDA for a solution.

Auto mode is still there. From TF2D, go to Settings Tab / Sounds.

Oh, the status bar shows 3G instead of EVDO for my Sprint phone. Looks a bit weird. Is it normal?
