New Alltel ROM, still not posted, but comes from official source. Haven't tried it out, so don't know if GPS is enabled or not.

**CORRECTION: GPS IS ENABLED. THIS IS A GPS ENABLED ROM. TRIED IT WITH A TEST 6800**

Flash at your own criteria, not responsible for blah blah blah.

Credit to readzzz for giving me the idea of the rom name :).

I think it's 01_GSM.nb that was extracted from Special_4350.nbh, but I have to question it because it's named "GSM" and not CDMA... Anyone feeling like a guinea pig to flash this? lol

The radio is not typically in the special.nbh file. It's likely to be the 785.nb file which is extracted from TITAN_ship.nbh

I flashed it last night. Seems to be running fine. I'm not sure if this is the final copy. But I guess we'll find out when it gets released. I do like it though.

Quick look on this one. 25MB free RAM after the flash. As stated GPS works out of the box. Took a good minute to sync up to the sats but it worked fine with Google Maps. Feels pretty fluid moving through the OS. Other than that pretty standard 6.1 look and feel if you're used to a custom rom.

Also check now the limit for mms. 950 kb. Almost a 1 meg now :).

I believe 3.52.671.9 means this is Alltel's 10th revision of a 3.52 base. The release is older, but the revision is newer. A couple of the drivers seem preferable to 3.56/3.57.

so this would actually be the newest Rom version? how do you see the drivers and such?

After struggling all day to try to get the 3.42.50 radio installed on my Alltel phone, I found this RUU last night. It installed just beautifully. GPS worked out of the box. WM6.1. Updated radio. So far, all is great!

Does this update require olipro 2.40 or nueSPL 2.47? Or is it really legit/signed blah blah blah...?

This work with the standard SPL. You do not have to unlock your phone first.

I don't think I had to do anything extra to make sure the GPS worked. Perhaps I had to turn location service ON. Have you checked that?

The Alltel official rom has now been posted on HtC's web site. It appears that was was posted earlier is the same thing. I am going to flash mine this weekend when I have time to upgrade and reinstall everything again.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads-up.

A diff of the two files shows them to be the same. Sweet!

Is there any advantage to changing to the official rom? I have been using DCD's latest and my phone is stable & fast... no problems at all. Just curious... why the rush to change?

For me, I had problems with dcd 3.2.6. Specifically, I couldn't get SMS to work correctly. When trying to send a new message, the app would just hang when I clicked the New menu option. This might have been something with the way I built the kitchen, I don't know. But since I found the official version around the same time, I just decided to use it.

Additionally, I could not get the 3.42.50 radio to install. In fact, I can't get any ROM to load from the microSD card. (Kingston, 1GB, FAT32 formatted, blah blah blah. just won't work). So, the official ROM with the newest radio was a big bonus for me.

If I was working fine with dcd 3.2.6 and radio 3.42.50, I wouldn't bother making a change.
