Size of contact pictures

I have some pictures i want to assign to some contacts - what is the resolution of the contact picture window that is displayed

I had a search on this forum but didnt find the resolution sizes that i need i keep trying but end up with either some of the picture displayed or its too small :mad:

Any help at all appreciated

The best size for contacts picture is 240x320.

Aren't they square at least in Touchflo? Does it make a speed difference when using bigger ones?

I think I read somewhere that if you assign them from within the Album program, they will be sized perfectly when shown in the contacts page.

it pretty much takes any size for contact pictures

just if your resolution of the original picture is too big.. when they shrink it as contact size.. it becomes a bit blurry

The photo frames are clearly square. 240x320 isn't.

240x320 is also larger than the size of the frame.

And if it shrinks the picture to fit, does it reduce it proportionally or does it distort the picture if you give it a rectangular picture and it needs to fit it into a square area?

Don't make posts implying you know the definitive answer when you're guessing or assuming, or you give ambiguous or imcomplete answers. It just makes more work for the rest of us trying to use the information.

and with you not answering the question asked here and picking on others' comments isn't gonna help either. At least we told him what worked WELL for us. Different ppl have different perspectives and different degrees of acceptance on minor things like contact pictures

for me, i use pictures i took from my dcamera which is 2048*1536. Works perfectly fine as a contact pics just a little bit blurry.

Sorry for bumping this, but if there are any better och worse resolutions I think the 256x256 pixels size is the best. That's because the default avatars are made in this size.
I'm talking about this one for example:

256x265 px

But, as I have experienced, the size doesn't really matter because the pictures allways seems to fit the contact frame thingy =)
