View Full Version : Sprint Diamond - RAM and memory on first start w/ touchflo3d enabled

First, I did a search on this and did not find the answers i wanted; so mods, please delete/move this thread if you don't approve - thanks

My question is pretty much in the title of this thread... I know the specs, but the amount of RAM/Memory after the phone runs its default processes and apps is obviously much different than what's stated on the fact sheet.

So, how much RAM and internal memory does the sprint touch diamond have after it's powered on straight out of the box with touchflo3d enabled?? Also, how much RAM if touchflo is disabled? I will be upgrading my mogul soon, so I'd like to know what I'm working with.

Please post any useful info, thanks in advance!

it doesnt matter you will hate the stock rom so bad. (its got dick all for spacke with all the sprint crap on it and its slow as hell) that you will flash a custom rom very shortly after your realize this.

I have to disagree. While yes it is full of bloat, of the custom roms I've ran (/made) it was by far the most stable. I didn't have it freeze at all over the course of a week, while with the custom ones, there was almost an immediate problem I found within the first hour of playing with them.

All we need is a nice clean sprint rom to remove a lot of the bloat, and it will be a great place to start, just with all the sprint crap on it, there isn't much storage space. And to comment on it being "slow" all the roms seem about the same speed, I wouldn't say its much slower at all.

To top it off, personally I like the sprint theme more than any other (just needed the flip clock to be perfect which you can download a cab for that).

hate to burst your bubble, but if your getting freezing on the custom roms as opposed to the sprint one its something your doing or you have not hard reset after flashing. Juicy's sprint rom is exactly what you just described. its got all the crap removed. and some speed tweaks. its about 10x faster then the sprint rom or the telus stock rom with better then stock battery life.

again i say, your smoking the bong pipe and u need to put it down for a few and actually test my friend because any one here is going to disagree with your statement i bold'd above. I went back to the telus rom last night to test and was disgusted by the slowness. i became accustomed to my custom rom.

good cooked roms are much much better than stock roms IMHO

i have flashed a fair few and the bets ones do not freeze on me at all ;) they have less memory leak and run faster as well as being leaner and get the best out of the phone ;0)

flash and flash some more, have fun see for yourself, but be safe :D

when my device boots it has 144 MB free ram. that's an ass load more then the telus rom.

this back and forth dialogue about different ROMs is quite amusing, but I just want to know how much RAM out of the box - even with all of sprint's unnecessary features and what not. I'm just trying to see how much we actually get to play with. With the mogul, I had about 25-26mbs free out of the box of the 64 total. I know the diamond surpasses that minuscule amount greatly, but like i said, i just wanna know how much we're actually getting...
