My O2 Xda Exec keeps forgetting the GPS hardware port, no matter how many times i set it... If i dont set it GPS fails to work in the likes of Tomtom. If i set it to Com 7 everything works fine, but it seems to return back to (none) in the GPS settings each time... does anyone have a solution to this?

It tried it before, so I know com4 won't do for the hardware port since the GPS com port is already set on com 4 by default.
There will be an error message saying that you cannot choose the same port for both: GPS port and hardware port.
Nevertheless, I didn't know that selecting com7 could help having the GPS work better. I'll try that.

If i dont set the hardware port to com 7 then tom tom etc dont work... they connect to a "gps device" (which i think is windows emulating a gps device of the correct type) but they cannot get a signal. If i have the port set correctly i usually pickup a signal within a few seconds... but it keeps forgetting that the port is set. Im guessing that its actually to reduce power consumption by disabling the GPS device when not in use.
