Beasty & Laurentius Final Rom Release, gift to all Uni forum

Hi all,

Well we have decided to give you all a final rom release from us both.
We thank you all for your support and appreciation of our work whilst on the Uni forum.:D

We will update this thread with more info as we progress the rom.:rolleyes:

Hope you all enjoy it.
We will cook the usual three flavours as we have in our previous releases.
Vanilla, as basic as possible, with only the necessary apps cooked in.
Business, as above with usefull Business apps cooked in.
Full Flavour, tweaked as much as possible with all the apps we can fit, updated themes, icons, dialers, sips, graphics and more.

No promises, but we will do our best to finish off the work we started on Video Call, it was us that brought outgoing VC to the WM6 Unis, and we were very close to finishing incoming VC work too.

We will try our best to finish this off in our final release.

WM6.1 with latest stable OS.

Yes, but we need to start from scratch.

Base must be a shipped Uni rom because of device drivers I think.

Build number we can take any. Also XIP is a easy port.

So many new tools and applications are Developed meanwhile.
But... I have some kitchen experience, a lot more then when I started with Uni. :D

It would be great to work with you again, I'm looking forward. :)
And let's hope we can make videocall work this time in wm6.1!

I have a few devices, one of them is HTC Elf. Flashed the latest Onyx 3.0 ( http://d.imagehost.org/0924/Main.jpg http://d.imagehost.org/0718/MainJr.jpg ) ROM on it a few days ago and so much in love with the look, would give anything to have similar working ROM on my Uni - it's like having a completely new toy to play with again. *HINT HINT* :p

i never look other device. but they make great ROM for us. sadly, when i have flash with WM6PROBUSSINESSVC_V3 my device goes blank :confused::confused::confused::confused:. until now i can't solve it. may be you can help me?

condition :
- blank screen
- when press power+record+reset button, screen still blank
- when press power+button 1+button 2, working normally, but still can't load device.

Read WIKI (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Universal) and looks like your device stuck at boot loader. Solution is very much detail in there and hope that helps.

I think its not important to have everything pre-installed on ROM. For me the first priority is the stability of ROM. If it crashes 3 times a day but run super-fast it doesnt make any sense. The priorities in my opinion should be:

1) Stability
2) Speed
3) Add-in features

When I first came to this site, with the intention of learning a bit more about my Uni, the first ROM I ended up flashing was an early one of yours - since then I've tried most of the WM6 and a few WM5 ROMs that I've found here, and really, I've always found yours to be the most stable and versatile.

I'll admit I've not really contributed anything at all, but all the same, thank you very much for sharing with us your skills and excellent releases. I eagerly await your final Uni release. :D

i dropped my uni and ended up f@##ing it up beyond recognition.

However, I managed to buy another Uni, almost brand new and am just as thrilled as the first time i bought one!!! Just cant seem to love any other device besides the Uni......!

That makes me all the more hungry for a new rom from my favorite cookers!!!

I think while we might offer the guys suggestions of what we may see as useful, asking them to tell us when is not going to be very useful.
They are going out of their way to give us a new rom that we can all enjoy and people trying to rush them and asking for an ETA can be seen as a little insulting, its like someone giving you a free car and then you complain about the colour.

Beasty & Laurentius take your time, i'll be happy whenever you want to release another quality rom, as i appreicate the effort you both have gone to to be able to enjoy our devices that bit much extra

I am sorry to be the one anouncing this news:

I recieve a PM form Laurentius a few days ago saying that it won´t be possible to have a last ROM form the masters Beasty & Laurentius because they are too busy.
However Laurentius will be cooking soon for the HD.

I know this is a bad news but we have to continue and wish the best for our dear master chefs!

My appologies, it was no joke.
We would really like to resolve Video Call for WM 6 on the Uni and release a final rom for everyone on this forum.
Unfortunately I just do not have the time to dedicate to it at the moment, I am still stupidly busy at work and still bringing work home to finish, this has been happening for over 8 months now and I really wish things would calm down a bit.

If in the future I have more time to myself I will look at it again, as I too still love my Uni and have not found a decent replacement.

I got G4 64MB uni and I'm not able to run any opera, i mean the newer one 9.5 maybe thats because I'm doing something wrong, i will check it once again ..

But I was unable to run it on newer (testing rom) and on older one as well :confused:

Same here, I simply cannot find a decent replacement, I like the big display & hardware-keyboard combination, it just fits well in any pocket.
