A lot of problems regarding flashing emerged. If you still want to test it go here (http://www.qooy.com/files/QDJKQBIX/rose+edition.rar). A new ROM will be out next week.

If you can find a dump with german in it, it would be no problem, but right now, I don't have all the languages files for German to make it work properly!

Yes to both. I am not using the new xt9, but the old from Vox. It's in the old SYS (if you downloaded the whole kitchen).

Sweet work. If you archive it, really no need to MD5 hash it since ZIP and RAR have do a CRC, but a hash of the NBH wouldn't hurt anything.

Once it's uploaded to MediaFire, I'll toss it on ShareBee which should span it across a few distribution sites.

Here are two md5 hash files. Could somebody please test it. I used WinMD5 (http://www.blisstonia.com/software/WinMD5/#download). The first is for the rar file, the second for the nbh. Just drag and drop the rar archive and the rar.md5 / the nbh file and the nbh.md5 into the WinMD5 window and look if it says good or not.

Don't know about SDHC, is it formated right? FAT32.

BTW: I always flash from SD-Card, so I would not notice problems with normal flashing!

The cold boot takes veeeeeery long. Don't be impatient at that point. I made one (I think like beta 9 or so) where it wouldn't boot no matter what I did! Since the hashes are fine and I am running the ROM I can't do anything else anymore...

Don't know. But I used the 1.16 SPL and not the newer ones. Maybe that's the problem?? No idea.

Well it probably is the 8GB card then. Too bad that it doesn't work for you. Get another ROM, like Dr. G's and try if you can flash that from SD-Card!

...having never ending flash.

The flash via async did not work

so I put the nbh on an 2Gig SDMicro card (fat32) and renamed it as written in the wiki

Starting uspl results in "SD Update image? press power key.

When I press power key the progress bar on the bottom fills red quickly and then it resides on 100%.

When i switch off the phone then it boots, shows slider and starts sdconfig etc.
After completion it reboots and tells me the power lost during installation. Pressing YES OS starts and again starts the sdconfig process.

Then reboot and loop,,,

What can i do?

It did but with sim in it, it never passed loading operator config.txt. Rom is in very early stage I would not recommend it to anyone. I am going back to Dr. Gonzo's rom.

Well to be honest the ROM works perfect here. Without bugs and pretty fast. But I might know the reason for all the problems. It was cooked under Vista, which caused problems before. I will set up a virtual XP, cook it again and then we'll see.

no htc album
and as in your rom [ i tested it] you cant turn on audio booster...
else is pretty good...

so can u tell me specific steps to make landscape mode keys to work...
and what have u done with the oem packages??? did u delete some of them?
add your own???
modified them?
maybe if we work together we can make something out of it..:)


oh and all u beta testers tell me if u want to upload my rom... you can flash from pc but it has all this bugs mentioned above...

Look if there is Tornado Power control running in background as a process...
if u go below something..let's say under 140Mhz...connection with active sync will not work...

thank you for suggestion. I have checked whether it is running or not. In my case - VOX OC is not running and it is not installed (not included in the rom). I still have a problem to connect my device. I tried 2 laptop restart and also device restarts but without any success.

I had this kind of problem too. I had to close the Windows Mobile Device Center process each time. I might be able to upload a new version this night.

What I noticed so far is that Vista is more tolerant if it comes to build mistakes. If I cook with XP it is not able to cold boot!

I tried flashing the ROSE ROM and my experience is as under:

I flashed from a 512mb card. Everything went smoothly, It showed loading from config....txt file and the scroll bar went back and forth showing autoload shortcuts etc. Suddenly the phone restarted and on booting the screen showed "ERROR - Sudden failure of power while loading etc etc.".

I repeated the process thrice. On the last ocassion, i saw for a moment "Resetting device" which meant that loading of files were complete. I was glad that now it would be alright. But to my surprise the same error screen was flashed again.

I am going back to my earlier ROM - HIKEY Chinese 8.2

Take your time with this, trying to rush something through because of demand will cause silly errorse to appear in the ROM.

Downloading it now will update on wether or not I am successfull with Flashing.

Unlocked my phone and get image file is corrupt message when flashing from Laptop, going to try sd card flashing.

was glad to have an original vodafone update that i cud flash from the sdcard by pressing camera on poweron.

Now I'm with Dr. Gonzo's 19700 build agn - that I modded to look like s740 (just dark grey bg, core bronzeres, some reg keys).

The only thingy - not missing that - is the weather plugin.

I do not know why sum ppl cud use the rom source.

Good efforts frauhottelmann though creating a stable release. lookin forward to a fresh build that does not have the 20mb mem lack as 19700.

I have finally succeeded to install the ROM 15 minutes ago. :) Nothing special was done. Last night I tried thrice but couldnot. Today it installed in one shot. I think there are some glitches somewhere. Today I flashed fom a 1gb card - the only difference.

I am testing the ROM and found the following
1) Comm manager is not running from quicklist.
2) Internet sharing is working.
3) Active sync is conecting.

More if I can find something.

2. HTC Album (You can install it yourself then it works)
3. Sliding Keyboard

The comm manager is not working from settings-connection as well as from quicklist menu. Its only working from last chome panel only. I am thinking of making a shortcut in case I use today screen other than chome.

no problem. I thought that it is a bug. You do not have to include CommManager except that the menu should be updated with default wireless manager (wrlsmgr.exe). Is there any option to change it after flash? Registry?

Nothing to be sorry man. It happens. I was just pointing out the lacunae so that in the next version it can be rectified. Don't take it otherwise. Anyway I have pasted a shortcut in the Start menu.
One more thing I noted is - the phone refuses to make calls in quick succession. That is after making one call one has to give a gap of around 15 to 30 seconds for the next call otherwise phone shows error. Is anybody else facing this problem ?

I may be way off in left field here, but I noticed last night that the S740 dumped OEM folder is missing some of the driver files that are in the older VOX Roms. Specifically, I noted that in OEM>oemdrivers>keybrddr> there is a .dll in the older version that is missing the new OEM folder. I also noticed the same type of missing dll files in OEM>oemdrivers>camera and OEM>oemdrivers>htccamera>.

I don't know if the missing keyboard dll could be causing the problems in this ROM or not, but I thought I'd share just in case.

Nice observation i saw it tou and tried to copy the old drivers with no luck...
the only weird thing is that the .bin file is HRSA on the s740 dump and in the older rom is RSA.
i think it is some kind of encryption.
maybe the s740 dump is not so succesfull after all...
