i have found the original taiwan Rom for the benq e72 (wm6 crossbow, but it looks there is a flash homescreen with something like orange plugin, it seems)
but i am not a cook and don't know how to extract, dump, load etcetera the rom in this phone.

developers, cookers are welcome, and we need them

did u know? - or u did know already - that benq e72 is similliar to kyocera solo e4000. maybe there are some resources bout this phone we can use too on benq e72.

OT, i find a Russian e72 wm6.1 rom... but it is for another e72 (AMOI e72)... beware of similar names but different phone /OT
OT2, i am not a coocker and really dumb in this stuff... but i am wondering how hard is create a wm6.1 rom for this device from zero... or copyng some rom from a similar phone (vox or tornado or anything...)...

Do you happen to have the first file (romdump.zip)? Files inside BENQ_E72.rar seem to be incomplete and all links on the chinese site are dead :( WM 6.1 is possible on the device, as Kyocera Solo E4000 (same phone for south-american market) already has it on board, see here: http://www.con-cafe.com/index.php/2008/06/17/usando-el-kyocera-e4000-wifi-cumana/. All I need are the ROM dumps to start playing with (need the asian one too because of cool homescreen ;)).

i am sorry i have tried to download these file several time, but it is impossible, with several browser, from different connections... nothing to do...

if you would like to get an official rom i could dump mine (if someone leanr me how), but it is english (bought on expansys)and don't carry the COOLEST HOMESCREEN!
i am looking for it since 2 months, but don' find nothing... i am sure that somewhere we could get it, but WHERE?


anyway could you cook from emulator image? are you sure that the kyocera carries the wm6.1? where to find the kyocera rom? maybe we could use it missing the benq homescreen...

I find a Chinese forum and I have tried a method, but I cannot upload it due to it is 80MB

1. Download XDAUtil here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=XdaUtils

2. Run "pdocread -t" to check for Disk Size

3. Run "pdocread 0 0x5000000 e72.nb" to extract the rom.

pls note that 0x5000000 is the size u check in pdocread -t

Downloaded the files. The first one is the same incomplete dump of asian E72 ROM as we already have. Three other dumps are from another phone (Amoi E72).

So, does anyone have the original and properly dumped asian ROM of BenQ E72 (80MB in size)?

No, it's present only in asian version. I have British Telecom branded version and there's no such homescreen.

it is right i bought my benq e72 from UK (unlocked operator) and there are NO stylish homescreen (only typical of wm6, and facade... no flash ui, or docked icons)

if someone could point us to this cool homescreen, or pst a full dump of asian rom... i will be grate forever :D

@znial, trying to work it out. It utilizes a dll file (vasce.dll), there are many other dependencies. Also, Adobe Flash Lite must be installed.

Yes, it does, I do have an English UI, it is even of better performance due to the fonts

It is branded by British Telecom, only english language. It doesn't have internet radio functionality (http://www.e72.pl/images/news/bt.jpg) and maybe there are other shortages I don't know of. It has following 3rd party apps preinstalled: QuickMark v3.3, Speech Commander v2.5.1, Fizz Traveller v2.4, Mundu IM. I'm going to flash the ROM jimmysyss provided and will post a guide if I succeed.
