Hello!
I bought a Diamond for a few weeks ago, unfortunately it's not working very well. Suddenly at random the audio disappears, often when a USB cable is connected. The two solutions i've found is to listen to an mp3 song in wmp for more than 5 seconds, then the audio will pop and scratch and then work again. That works 2 out of 3 times, and the other times i have to do a soft reset. I upgraded the rom to 1.93.413.3 SVE (that is the swedish version), radio is 1.00.25.05, SPL-1.93.0000. I contacted HTC and after explaining that i've done a firmware upgrade, they told me that it is a hardware issue. I contacted my retailer, but they've taken over a month without any response. So my question now is, have anyone had any issues like this? Should i try other firmwares? Radio? If i do, can i easily restore everything back so that i can leave it for repair without them noticing? Is it a bad idea? If i brick it, i guess i'm screwed..
I know some of these questions are answered here, but i couldnt find anything about my sound issue, except some SMS sound issues, that is not the same problem i am experiencing though.. Also, if someone calls me when i have no sound, neither me or the one i am talking to can hear anything.
Thanks in regards
Johan

sounds like a Hardware issue, do anything you can to get in contact with the Vendor, Phone calls, emails anything.

try the attached driver + sound parameters.
taken from ATT_RAPHAEL_1.94.19971 ROM
It seems this driver handle 2 new audio setting files that were not present in the diamond:
FilterFile and PreProcessFilterFile
It is a new sound driver tested on my Diamond and working fine, less glitches, better sound but doesn't change the poor hardware HP unfortunatly.

Can you provide instructions on how to use and what to insert where in the device (diamond)

Hi TekTonik,
I have tried these drivers on my Diamond but it crashes whenever a sound plays. I copied the contents of the OperatorPKG folder to \Windows then replaced the wavedev.dll. I also added the new keys into the registry (FilterFile, PreProcessFilterFile and AcousticFile).
Are you using a cooked ROM with these drivers or did you update them manually? If so, any ideas what I am missing and also which ROM/Radio are using?
Would it be possible to post your registry settings for HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev please?
The reason why I am trying these drivers is in a hope to fix the infamous sound lag which you can read about here:

Hi.
I am also having the same problem. bought a new set, but there is no sound in standby after about 10 minutes. whatever i do, the music player, screen taps, sound settings - still there's no sound.
the only solution is a soft reset - but that too, works for ten minutes, and then again the unit goes deaf n dumb.
Have tried the thread above (to remove the lag), but still, no improvement.
is there a solution to this problem? can anybody guide me? please?

I have exactly the same issue on my SonyEricsson Xperia X1. I really wonder if that's a hardware issue. What I also figured out: When you do the WM Player workaround have a look at the reception indicator. When the sound comes back my reception is lost for a short time. It seems to me the phone module performs a reset.

I have the exact same problem, and also in my case it only comes back after playing a music file for more than 5 seconds. Has anyone found a solution yet?

I also have the exact problem above on my diamond. Actually, I feel HTC is really not responsible for their product. Their diamond has been released more than 3 months, till now, still no positive feedback to this.
I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THEIR ATTITUDE. IF I CAN CHOOSE AGAIN, I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM HTC.
