can anyone tell me where to place those sounds so that i can get that setup in my htc p3400i ?

You need copy *.wav or *.mp3 sound files for Ringing Notification to \Windows folder or \My Documents.

Sms notification [\Windows forlder]
Phone ringing [\My Documents, \Windows, \Strage Card]
