View Full Version : Upgrading Trinity with cracked screen

On January 4th, my beloved P3600 cracked in my pocket while in Dubai. So I bought an iMate Ultimate 6150 -- a terrible decision.
My iMate was stolen last week, and I need my Trinity to tether to AT&T'd 3G network. I was able to get it working by installing SOTI's Pocket Controller, and forcing a Bluetooth tether connection. It works fine.
But I'd like to still upgrade the darned thing. I'm going to order a new screen but they supposedly take 15 days from Hong Kong, and I'll be lazy in the install time.
Has anyone upgraded the ROM on a Trinity with a cracked screen?

Don't think you can do that, once the new rom installed you won't be able to bypass the align screen page.

Try MyMobiler at http://www.mymobiler.com/ . I believe once you get to that align screen, activesync is already working for the phone. That's all you need for this program.

My Mobiler is an Awesome program, but I just tried it for Align Screen, and it does not work. The screen needs to be physically touched... :( For a second there, I thought you had figured it out for him..
Update: I could not even get My Mobiler to run in a new Flash. Just tried it. Activesync did not connect that early on. Are you able to get the screen to accept ANY input? Maybe you could tap your way past the Align Screen, even if not tapped correctly, then use My Mobiler to run it from there... ??

There's a registry edit somewhere that toggles what occurs on first startup, such as password setup, align screen, etc. Look around for it, I forgot exactly where it is. Try disabling the align screen then.

But he's trying to get past it on a NEW Flash. It would not be capable of starting a registry editor at that point. :(

Yes, but it is possible to modify a rom's registry before flashing. Or else what would be the point of these regedits as they're only for the first run?

Ah, now I understand... Sorry... :o That may be the trick!
