Hey All
i have a problem with me GPS

i just bought my new TyTn II from egypt and they are disable GPS i cant find GPS setting or connect to it throught any gps program.
when i try to use any of those programs it tells me that their is now GPS device connected

i think they block the GPS by the software i notice that from the registry

a DWARD called EnableGPS was set to 0

so i turn it to 1

and also try to update the ROM with WM 6.1 i download it from HTC.com it work good and the only new thing that happen about GPS is that the quickGPS ,but when i click download it go for a long connecting

I dont know what to do else to make that GPS work

I believe that Egypt (and most Arab countries), have banned the use of GPS for obvious reasons. It's a pity, but there you have it. The device should still pick up a GPS signal if it is enabled. It should be set for Com 4 and 4800 baud. You can try a freeware GPS app like noniplot.

hey man am from egypt and i got a tytn II
you have to change the ROM you can install any ROM you want to because in Egypt they disable the GPS from the ROM
and you can also download the original ROM and if you want the maps and programs send me a private message and i will send them to you
have fun and congratulations for the tytn II
enjoy :)

i dunno if you are up to it, but try flashing a new ROM, that should take care of it, as the problems you are facing are usually caused by software limits set in the Egypt ROM.
