Hi everyone,

I don't install this ROM [I'm still with my M-Amine 1.0], so I don't really know how it works but I just wanna ask something.
With my ROM, I have 56MB RAM and sometimes it slows down [if I run 2 softs at the same time [S2P and a game, or S2P with an Office application].
At the first page of the topic, there is :
84.71 MB RAM 41.12MB Free
My question is :
41MB of free RAM is enough to run some softs [at the same time or not] ?
I understand the interface is really fast [cause it uses 40MB RAM], but for the others softs ?

Yesterday I flashed to "c_shekhar_Final_JPLEdition"
Now the people are still available after soft reset.

Only the calendar for all day events aren't displayed correctly in the Manila Home tab.

I've got TomTom Navigatior 6 now working on this ROM. I've extract the ttn.cab from the Original HTC Polaris WM6.1 German ROM (with viewimgfs on my with pdocread dumped Original ROM), which runs perfectly on this ROM without crash/hanging on the start.

Here's one thing I believe you should add to your flash instructions. I fought with the flashing for about an hour until I got this figured out. Basicly, the flash would hung at 0%.

When installing with Active Sync on Win Vista the user needs to change the properties of every file to UNBLOCK. Vista security blocks, or sets to blocked, all downloaded application files. Once I UNBLOCK the files the the flash worked fine.

I have one question outside of this flash. I have a Touch Cruise (WM6.1) and when I USB plug the phone into my PC (Vista) for a sync the sync changes my time by one hour. I am in Arizona and we have no daylight savings. I have turned this off in both the Outlook 2003 and in the phone. I have disable auto time update. I also have a problem with SMS messages received by local AZ contact and the SMS msgs are one hour off.

Anyone have a solution?

There are problems with all the ROMs having 3.13 drivers while running the UPXed files. Some run and majority not..check this out...

Which radio rom do you use? Try to update to 1.59.42.15 or 1.59.42.23. Camera works fine for me.

I also got the camera problem.. I am trying to revert to the original radio version.:confused: The receptions very bad as well .. I only get 1 bar for the cell signal.

apparently, 90% of my games don't work. PDAmill stuff, worms to be precise.
call of duty 2 also has insufficient graphics acceleration, so even in low detail
mode glitches as hell. spb brain evolution works though.. gotta be smart then.

as for the speed, it is amazingly fast.. really responsive.. though you should still tweak the biotouch. :)

I've a little problem. No game, especially ScummVM works with the ROM. The games start and crash after a second. I think it could be because of the 3D-drivers because everything works with the Official O2 Rom where no 3D-drivers are integrated. Or am I wrong? Has anybody an idea what I can do?

You need not worry about the free RAM so much. 35-38MB of free RAM is more than enough for any application to RUN.

I use approx. 1200 MP3 and WMA files on my 8 GB microSDHC card.

Hi. Been using the ROM for the past few days. The ROM is truly quite stable.

The only issue I face so far is once I have installed Yahoo Go! 2.0 (not 3.0), and when I try to login Yahoo Go! 2.0 will terminate suddenly. I use Yahoo Go! 2.0 to sync my address book as it allows 2 way sync.

Also, is there a lite version in the near future. That way, we can have more memory as the memory seems to run out very fast especially when I am using Opera.

Thanks for a great rom. My HTC touch cruise is ALIVE! Like a new phone...
But i got two problems wich nr one is easy:

1. Need tha localization (cab?) for norwegian. Where can i find it?

2. My camera does not work. When i start the camera it hangs a couple of minutes until it displays that 'device can not be found'. One time it even shut the speaker of. I tried a soft and hard reset.

Updating your radio version fixes that problem. Also this is a WWE rom, so I don't think there's a localisation for you.

First of all: thank you for your rom very much.

Unfortunately, I have found two bugs (so far):
1.the game Snails does not work properly. Black screen appears, there is initial music but nothing happens. Just black screen - seems to be a kind of problem with drivers...
2.wi-fi switch in connection manager is in grey, unless, since the last soft reset, I turn on the wifi from settings (then I can turn it on/off from the connection manager)

This is my first cooked ROM. In general I'm very pleased with its quality. After 4 days of usage I didn't find any major bugs, all my apps working fine and I don't experience freezes upon incoming calls as was with official 6.1 ROM. Manila is looking awesome and also blazingly FAST but it is not the most convenient UI in my opinion (I prefer SPB MS+PS). Thank you C_Shekhar and Jpl for this wonderfull work.

Issues that I've found so far
1. Sometimes when I go to message or e-mail screen by clicking on it's tab (and not by sliding) and then I want to slide to another tab the sliding doesn't work. I mean that when I slide the finger the tabs are not changed and when I lift the finger it jumps to another tab
2. Appointment for today is displayed as tomorrow in home tab
3. When I go to the weather screen I get message "unable to retrieve data for selected city" and few seconds later the weather is correctly displayed
4. Scrolling doesn't work in "all programs" when accessed from programs screen
5. There are 2 task managers. One in programs and another in programs->system tools. This is confusing, may be better to remove one of them
6. Call history invoked from programs is not displayed correctly, the lower part of screen is not redrawed

Aahh! Too many questions.....however I shall try to answer few of them..

There are problems with some of the games on all ROMs using ver.3.13 drivers released by HTC. I have noticed that problem exists (Mostly) with those programs which have UPXed dll or exe. So it needs to be checked in case of the non-working progs if they have UPXed files.
There is no relation between first soft reset and comm Manager. as long as the TC is connected to your PC through ASync the wifi in comm Manager remains disabled. You should know that...


the suggestions are good and may attract the cooks may be in next release..;)

nice feedbacks from a user point of view..But many of them cant be said as problems... for example..

The manila Tab resting at mails tab:- You see when you reach the mails tab or music tab, the programs tries to cache-in the info. And it would happen mostly for the first time you reach that tab after cache is cleared. That time the resting on the tab normally ocuures..
The exe in manila prog is patched for retrieving the data related to your custom city. (original manila does not allow the custom city). Thats why sometimes it show that way..
Yes there are two task managers but they are all together different from each other..the one inside program->system Tools is made by dotfred and is a legendary program. (Hats off to Dotfred my friend). So it is better if bothe remain..

My guess is that this is why TomTom6 and maybe old versions of iGo fail to load! Is there a solution?

Your rom is the best I've ever used but its frustrating that TomTom 6 doesn't load :)

One more thing: Settings -> System -> Soft key does not work. I mean, whatever I set up there, I still have on the Home screen "Phone" and "Programs" options. It seems that Manila 2D takes its settings from different place than Soft key sets them.

Hence 2 questions arise:
a)How to change these settings manually and effectively?
b)Maybe you could try to change the Softkey to modify the correct registry settings? I mean generally: to make it work ;).

P.S. Is there any upx specific for PDA or can I use the "normal" one to try to decompress executable files?

As for the battery - I have completely no problems. 80% after the whole day, including listening to music via my headphones.

Make sure you are not walking around with wifi, bluetooth, gps turned on. Maybe some of the programs turns it on automatically ?

I have noticed only one problem with this ROM. Twice now I've sent a sms message and when the deliverynote/receipt has come in the phone beeps and vibrates, but then the vibrate does not stop, and the screen slows down and becomes unresponsive.

When I reboot/reset the phone I then get "null" displayed in the M2D new message screen rather than the latest message. Once I get a new message "null" disappears.

I wonder if you can help me with this problem that relates to the amount of program memory. I have about 14MB free with more than 60MB of storage memory.
Quite often all my programs shut down - even m2d. I assume this is due to running out of program memory.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Would you place here the list of progs you are using?
Are you using the task manager to close the progs?

beacuse in my case despite installing abt 12 cabs of third party progs I still have 32-34 MB prog mem free. And I do use the task mamaner to close the progs on clicking the 'X' button.

Can you nerrate here which program icon you added how?
For example I have iGO8 on my SD card. I created a shortcut to iGO8.exe in Windows\Start Menu\Programs (using Resco File Explorer) and then added iGO8 to programs screen as usual. After soft reset it disappeared from there

Issues that I've found so far
1. Sometimes when I go to message or e-mail screen by clicking on it's tab (and not by sliding) and then I want to slide to another tab the sliding doesn't work. I mean that when I slide the finger the tabs are not changed and when I lift the finger it jumps to another tab

OK, figured this out. You must start sliding from the current tab. If you start sliding from another tab then sliding does not work. I guess this is manila feature, not something specific to this ROM

The programs I regularly use are emoze, contacts, calendar, opera, calculator, total commander, tomtom navigator, and slingplayer mobile.

I have started regularly checking the memory usage after opening and closing these programs and it seems that, slowly but surely, the program memory disappears as time goes by. Is there are memory leak?

I will stop using the programs one at a time and see if I can discover the culprit.

I always used to use task manager to close programs on a long press of the X and allow the os to sort out memory usage but recently I have changed it to close on pressing the X.

I too suspect that one of your prog has memory leak. because I use iabmic vehicle manager, handy shoppers, resco explorer, PCM keyboards, mapking, mortscript still have 30MB + left. but do use task manager.

With all respect to my friend shekhar...:D 931 is out but still needs some adjusts and tests. It seems to be the faster one but the build around is being translated to 409 coz is 804. So, you guys will probably have news ahead soon....

Contacts dont disappear after soft reset. For setting the contacts into the cube, you slide your thumb from bottm towards top . the quickdial (Cube) pops up. then you can set the contacts there..

7)removed samples of music&pic&vid...
8)clean some valid sections in you initflashfiles.dat...
