I hope someone can shed some light on this.

I have follow all the instruction that I could find to setup the aGPS on this phone.

The problem is, some time it only take about 10 to 20 seconds to lock on the satellite. Some time it takes a long time like 10 to 15 minutes, and sometime never.

I would like to get to the end of this. I have cooked and uses DCD's Rom, none of which makes any difference.

I must have flashed this phone for over 20 times and ech time with the same results.

It would work mostly in the day time (afternoon) but not at night or early AM.

Hope someone would be able to point me to the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

Update 10/17/08

Here is what I have done wrong. I have remove/delete my data connection from the phone .

"Wifi will not work with the PDE Server. It will prevent the agps data from being downloaded if it is on."

"This requires a data connection. It will use 100 bytes (1/10 of 1Kilobyte) when accessing the PDE servers."

Update! This Works without connecting to data!

Go to your Comm Manager, switch to Flight Mode, switch back to Phone mode, launch your GPS program.

Works every time for me so far. I have tried TomTom and Garmin so far.

We need specifics such as Radio Version, carrier, ROM version, SPL version, etc. Post all of this and whatever steps you took in the order you took them and we will be better suited to help you.

Thanks and good luck!

Now what have you DONE? Have you applied the TITAN aGPS fix found in the WIKI (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VerizonAGPSFix) ? You will need to find the Telus aGPS settings but the entire first portion is relevant. Try that and let us know then what happens. Also, make sure your location in "Phone Settings" is set to on. BTW, why a custom ROM when Telus has a pretty solid GPS rom out?

I also BELIEVE this is the correct IP and Port for Telus. I found it at this link from PPCGEEKS... (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36377&highlight=Bell+aGPS)

PDE IP Address = 216.198.139.92
PDE Port Number = 8889
PDE Transport = IP
Position Calculation = mobile

Ahhh, yes, that would do it. Why did you delete it anyways?

I'm not on a data plan. And was costing me $150 for the first month of usage.

Is anyone know if there is a way to get around about the GPS without using data?

Switching to flight mode is a way to clear any hung data connections.
