How difficult is it to cook in manila 2-d, has anyone done it on the ppc6800 sprint titan. Is it possible to get a copy of it. I have tried numerous times to use the ppckitchen buildos app, but I keep getting an error that I am missing the XIP folder in this extension: "C:\DocumentsandSetting\M541378\ApplicationDat a\hI qInc\PPC-BuildOS\9.05.3.0Temp\ROM\XIP" thank you anyone who can help.

There are some issues with the new BuildOS. Let them sort that out first. You should be able to build it in. I am running NueROM3 Pre3 kitchen with M2D. Swapped it back to my normal NueROM3 Pre3 because quite frankly I think M2D blows. But thats my opinion.

EDIT: After using M2D I actually love it!

Also, what build of CE OS are you trying to use in the kitchen?

Also, if you absolutely cant get it I can whip something up for you. Tell me what else you may want in it?

i'd like to check that rom out myself scrosler...not wanting much in it, rather clean. with the...

manilla 2d ui
nueusb
titlebardatehack

that's pretty much about it.

Clean is good, most folks have all the cabs to dirty it up themselves.

thanks in advance.

**NOTE 2 Nov 2008, 2:30AM Central Time**
There is a new thread devoted to my latest release, Round 4. Please see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441716.,

Thank you all for your support and feedback. I am no longer supporting the first three rounds but they will eventually get a link on my new download links in the post noted above. For now I have removed the links from the site and this post.
**END NOTE 2 Nov 2008, 2:30AM Central Time**

Ok,

Let me make one thing clear: None of this is my work! This is compilation of great works from all over the internet. If you see a screnshot that is your product please let me know so I can give appropriate credit.

Shout Outs go to:

First and Foremost
DCD, GC, and No2Chem - I learned quite a bit just by reading there posts and disecting the DCD kitchen and of course SEARCHING ;c)

But no less important
DogGuy, and Dutty (NBH Tools), All the artists that made these bad ass themes and pics that I bootlegged from all over the Internet and everyone else who made this stuff possible! Especially the guy that Made M2DC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392)

Ok, I have posted ROM's for all. Please download and enjoy.

I also made these ROMS using the PPC Kitchen. Please visit there site and try there kitchen then donate if you got the spare cash. Its great! http://ppckitchen.org/

Thanks for taking the time to download my work and try it out. I value all feeback but would prefer not to get my ass handed to me. Please be thoughtful ;c) It takes guts to post this sort of file to the web. I understand how important these devices are to people so I want everyone to know that I have tested the core of this ROM for over a week with no major issues. I also reboot daily (by choice)! But as always;

*USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES WRONG!*

*You also need to be on Bootloader 2.40 or 2.47 with a GPS radio of 3.3x.x and higher*
If you dont have that then please read the stickes at the top of the forum main page and go tot he Titan Wiki page to learn how to get there. I cannot help you with that part, just my ROM and its functionality. Here is a great tutorial from GAMedic at PPC Geeks that will walk through the steps of setting your phone up for a custom ROM.

GAMedic Tutorial: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33857

Im also VERY up to suggestions for additional software and possibly removing unwanted items in the rom.

Here is the of OEM's list I used. I made some myself and modified others yet while leaving some just the way they were.

ROM with M2D active has about 20 Megs of free RAM (everything disabled except active sync and M2d)
ROM Without M2D active has about 25.75 Megs of RAM. (everything disabled except active) It runs VERY nicely with out M2D.

Just remember M2D is a memory hog but looks sooooo good!

Thanks again! Enjoy!

Round 1 - OUTDATED but still a popular choice!
Links removed

Round 2 - TOO BUGGY I HAVE BEEN TOLD but runs fine on my phoen- NOT RECOMENDED for anything other than testing purposes- Apps shut down alot when not being used because of REg tweaks I got from No2Chem's OEMS. I like this feature, alot of people dont! This ROM has the typical issue of TouchFlow shutting down when the device is under high memory usage as reported by some users.
Links Removed
Different Skin this time (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2709784&postcount=1535), minor bug fixes. Camera version 5. Latest 20755 CE OS. Newer build of Opera 9.

Round 3 -First Round based off DCD 3.2.6
Links Removed
This ROM was rebuilt from the ground up and based off the DCD 3.2.6 Kitchen. Its missing Opera, Audio manager, the Diamond dialer and the Diamond comm manager (Most people are happy about this) and has no custom boot screens as I did not want to start tearing apart the kitchen. It seems to be the most stable so far! More free ram at boot as well. Download, enjoy and provide feedback!
It was found that YouTube is not working proper on this ROM. No other bug reports thus far.

Round 4 - Coming Soon! Alpha testing is underway. This will be a "barebones" M2D ROM that is ready to run on first boot. It will include the CAB files that are needed to custoimize it to the way you want. I have added extra themes for M2D, the latest customizer, and all the M2D apps that people have asked for.

And I was just asked to post this by a user. If you like the ROM you are using and have a some spare change then by all means..... Otherwise donations are not mandatory to download, use, and get support of my ROM!

Hey sorry to bring newbieness into this thread, I am trying to upgrade my phone HTC P4000 (Telus) my bootloader is saying it is version 1.01.0000

The website I am reading doesn't list anything about 1.01.0000,

t the tri-colour bootscreen you will see the version number installed.

* if it is 1.04, 1.06, or 2.07 then you must unlock your phone and upgrade to 2.40 or 2.47. Olipro 1.20 is not necessary at all when using newer ROMs/Radios.
* if it is 1.20 then you have the pre-GPS ROM bootloader and must first flash to one of the older ROMs and associated radio to boot into WM, get an ActiveSync connection and then upgrade to 2.40.
* if it is 2.40 or 2.47 then you have the correct bootloader and are ready to move on to the Radio Upgrade in Section III.

Can someone direct me on wether I need to upgrade or not? Also what radio rom should I be using with this for telus?

thanks,

ren

Sorry that I did not specify this in the post.

You will need boot loader version 2.40 or 2.47. I recomend the 2.47 as it can be installed form the device. This is a GPS enabled ROM.

Read the Stickies at the top of the post. They will guide you on how to get there.

Here is a really good post from GAMedic that guides you step by step.

Can you try flashing teh SD method? It must be a permissions issue on your computer as no one else is having the issue. Im not sure what else would cause that. Where are you running the utility from? Desktop? Root of C:?

Also, did you synch with ActiveSynch before running the utility? I did have that problem a while back because the cable became disconnected right before I went to flash. Also double check to make sure 2.47 is installed.

Yeah, just in a documents folder on C. I'm not too familiar with the SD method, but I'll look into it.

I am assuming that since you have differnet ROMs for each carrier that this already has the carrier cab in it? What about the Radio? I only ask because I am currently running DCD 3.2.6 and have the bootloader and the radio that is working for me but I am temped to try this REALLY NICE Rom. Well done.

Yes definitely. If you want to wait a few minutes I can download it myself. I have an insanely fast connection to it. I need to wrap up some stuff for my own phone first.

If you want to try without waiting that is certainly fine. Let me know either way so I should test it or not. I beleive others have had success with Sprint so I think the file may have corrupted in transit.

Thanks

Thanks! Please feel free to try. If you are running DCD 3.2.6 then you can drop this right over what Radio and Bootloader you have as this means you are already upgraded.

The carriers are built in. These files are from the PPC Geeks Kitchen which forces you to have a carrier. If I knew how to do UC with PPC Geeks That would save me a hell of alot of time! Any suggestions from any one on this woudl be great. I havent searched yet but plan to for my next release of this ROM.

I am trying to learn how to build in the animated weather panel in Manilla 2D and I want to add a couple themes to the ROM itself so users have choice when they first get the ROM no need to download anything to start modifying ;c) I hope to be done that by next Friday night. Well see though.

Thanks again for taking interest in my ROM. Hope you decide to try it out!

Well, I tried the USCC version, had some issues. It would not automatically pull up my connection settings so I had to set them manually, also even after configuring push mail settings, it would not sync correctly with Mail2Web, it would start, run for 5-10 minutes and then just stop with no data. Turned on WiFi and tried again, still wouldn't sync.

Flashed back to my DCD image and it synced up in less than 2 minutes just fine.

So there are a few minor issues on the USCC one.

For now I will wait for the kitchen to arrive so I can do a little more configuring before flashing, maybe this will resolve some of it.

It does look very nice, and I really like how the theme is carried thru on most of the programs, makes it look very professional.

Work out the bugs, and I'll gladly use your rom :)

BTC

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate that quite a bit. My goal was to have a rom that looked good and flowed all together. From your feedback it seems I have acheived that. Thanks again for trying it out!

About the Kitchen: Here is what I have and or did...

I took a Stock PPC kitchen and extracted the OEM's I wanted to modify for this. After that I removed the PPCkitchen OEM's RAR file from my project file so it wouldnt load (Just too much bloat). I modified the OEM's so they are as they appear now. Next I just built the ROM with the stock kitchen 20748 Files.

Basically to recreate this kitchen you just need use my selections.txt and my OEM's. If your willing to beta test the effectivenes of this method and can help me determine if we can successfully "create" a kitchen using this method I would be very greatful.

Hell, if anyone wants to try let me know and I will start zipping this stuff up.

Thanks

Yes definitely. If you want to wait a few minutes I can download it myself. I have an insanely fast connection to it. I need to wrap up some stuff for my own phone first.

If you want to try without waiting that is certainly fine. Let me know either way so I should test it or not. I beleive others have had success with Sprint so I think the file may have corrupted in transit.

Thanks

Ok, I have tested the download and it went perfect for me. Something must have happaned to the file in transit. Go ahead and download again.

Good Luck and Thanks!

The mail icon does not seem to recognize the Outlook email account setup with Verizon's Wireless Sync client. It shows new messages, but it when you pull up the link it says 'No Accounts', and you have to navigate to the messaging program to view the email.

SMS works great.

The weather is great, but the last update info is located in the clouds and cannot be read very well.

Touchflo does not seem to apply to Pcoket IE, only Opera, which has the keyboard issues.

I am missing the 'lock/unlock' for the keys functionality. I came from DCD 3.2.5 and this is obviously much different, so I may just be missing it.

I second the idea of a kitchen because there are a lot of programs on here I don't personally find useful, and others preferences for alternatives like Live Search vs Google Maps, and Spb backup.

GPS works just fine (I wouldn't think it would be affected anyway).

Just some feedback and/or comments. This is an awesome looking rom (to all who contributed).

Yeah, I got it downloaded and working nicely, thanks! It looks good. I've played with the GPS, on googlemaps and Live Search, both work wonderfully.
Only problem I've experienced thus far are going landscape with the keyboard out, and then going back. Occasionally the image sticks to the top of the screen and need to soft reset. I'll let you know if I come across anything else. Thanks again! Keep up the good work

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I noticed that screen problem as well as another user. I personally think it has to do with low memory but cant say for sure. It doesnt happen very often at all for me. I have my ROM built off the no2Chem NeuRom3 Pre3. It adds "tons" more memory and seems much more responsive than a standard basekit.

Thanks again for taking the time to try my ROM!

I love the ROM and it's pretty fast, but here are some little problems I have.
I do love to use Enlarge Start Menu and Enlarge Title Bar Apps.
But when I am using M2D, the smaller start Menu Bar is dorminant. How do I reverse this so as to install and use the Enlarge Start Menu successfully.

As for the enlarge title bar, that does appear when I click on it, but also disappears immediately. Like I said, they are minore, but they make it easy for me. Enlarge Start Menu does give me easy access to recently used items.

Your help will be most appreciated

Great ROM! I am very happy with it, however i would like to share some of the things that i noticed.

The speed is great and seems very stable but I can not wait for a kitchen as I use s2v, s2u2 and s2p rather than all the htc stuff and would rather not have them in there.... Is there anyway to uninstall these?

The one buggy thing that i noticed is that every time Manilla2d relaunches (if I am in a landscape application like slingplayer of typing an email) the orientation changes to portrait. Is this by design? Can i tweak it?

Thanks alot for all of your hard work!

That has to do with the fact that Manilla 2D uses a good chunk of memory. When memory gets full it shuts itself down so that other apps can run more easily. Once you go back to the home screen it relaunches. This is by design and not sure how to stop nor do I think you would want too. Our device has a little amount of memory and this program was desgined to run on a device with twice as much (128megs vs our puny 64Megs).
On thing you can do however is use M2DC to remove tabs you dont need. I did this already and chopped out a few tabs. before I cooked the roms or ir would have been even worse.

AS far as the HTC Programs; A couple people has asked me about those. The reason I picked them anb Google Maps, Opera 9, and HTC Audio Manager is becauce they are required for 100% functionality in Manilla 2D and that is what the request was for originally, 100% functional Manilla 2D ROM.

If you would like put a wish list together and I can see what I can do.

Thanks for taking the time to try my ROM. Thanks again for the feedback as well!

Thats a bug that I have observerd with the comm manager as well. Its not a bug that I induced. I think its the build of the OS. Others have requested that I put in the HTC X Button so on my next iteration I will do so. I think that will force the comm manager to close.

Is anyone else having issue with the default Outlook Email Account being recognized by the Manilla 2D Mail tab? It shows No Accounts even though an Outlook account has been setup. If I setup a new non-outlook email account it displays as expected, but it seems a link or something to recognize Outlook is missing or a bug.

The Outlook account itself works fine as messages show up as new messages (notification), but the mail tab of manilla does not recognize or display the account. The messaging button on the device navigates to the account picker, and so it is not a deal breaker, but an annoyance nonetheless.

I mentioned this in an earlier post in this thread with less detail.

If anyone else has seen this, let me know. Thanks.

Yeah, when I first tried Manilla2D, I had that problem. For some reason its with Outlook only. The other mails do do show up, but now outlook. The only way I got it to show up was to delete my outlook account through Activsync and recreate the account again, and it showed up.

I looked at this dialer. It is indeed spectacular. However the creator did not yet post an OEM. I could however take the CAB and turn it into an OEM. The only reason I dont is because I have had too many issues with dialers. The dialer that i have works as it should, flows with the ROM, and was already an OEM so I do not plan on changing that.

Sorry I could not fullfill your request (this time ;c)

I downloaded and installed the Sprint ROM last night. It runs great and I find it very responsive. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this work! There were a few items that I found problems with and wanted to pass them along.

I am unable to access the Wireless LAN settings from the comm manager menu. The phone and blue tooth both work as expected.

I lost the Sprint Roam Only option on the phone settings. I was able to restore it with a registry edit but was just an pain. Maybe this is could be included into the carrier ROM?

The carrier cabs are untouched from the PPC Kitchen. I am not too fond of them and if I had the knowledge to incorporate this with a DCD carrier cab I would have done it. Actually I would have made it with no carrier. In all reality, if DCD grants me permission to MOD his kitchen I could do this all in the DCD 3.2.6 Kitchen and distribute the entire kitchen with OEM's ready to go.

Everyone tells me about the battery. I think I goofed that one up. Not sure how. I'll be posting kitchen pack files soon so everyone can add and subtract what they want.

You could use resco file explorer to change permissions. I have not done that but can confirm after removing the SYSTEM and READ ONLY permission the file can be deleted (looks like its time for a hard reset hahaha!) I see the thumbnail .jpg files in the first page of this thread, but I am not sure if I can use that to put them into a kitchen myself or not (noob at this).

If you provide them independently as .png, .bmp, .gif, I think I could get them in a PPC kitchen pretty easily.

Been using the Verizon ROM and it is quite nice, Tried to install GC's comm manager over the top but it doesn't show up.

Is there a setting to get more than 12 people on the dial by picture screen? I like SPB Mobile Shell version as it gives three pages of 9 I believe.

Could you also add McMinnville, OR 97128 to your weather cities please?

Thanks,

WOW! Jambrose, I have been looking at your SPB screenshot for months now!!!!!! You checked out my ROM!!!!! OMG! I feel like celeb status now! I cant beleive this. Next I need some feedback from DCD and all will be good!

I recorded some video using the phone's camera/video recorder. It should be able to play them because they are (I think mpeg4) but it doesn't play but it used to with the official stock rom.

try recording a 10-second video clip with your phone, see if it plays, you should get the error I get. if it plays then something is wrong on my phone.

Sorry that you are having that problem. There is probably nothing wrong with your phone, More than likely it is the ROM. I never tested that function but will before I release my next iteration. I am not sure of a fix but I am sure there is one. If anyone can help us out on this I would greatly appreciate that.

Thanks for trying my ROM. I will try to get a fix for this. Sorry for the inconvenience!!

Yeah, when I first tried Manilla2D, I had that problem. For some reason its with Outlook only. The other mails do do show up, but now outlook. The only way I got it to show up was to delete my outlook account through Activsync and recreate the account again, and it showed up.
Hope that helps

Thanks. This worked. The thing is I don't even use Outlook on my laptop (I use Thunderbird...which is 10x better), but I apparently had to have Outlook email in Activesync to get the pocket Outlook setup in Windows Mobile. I don't sync my email on my laptop with my phone, I just get email on my phone when my laptop is turned off (traveling), and then I get it again on my laptop itself when I finally get where I am going.

The reason I use pocket outlook on my phone is because of Verizon Wireless Sync Client, which I use to push my corporate email to my device. I should probably look into a different app to push my email because I have a feeling WSync and push email hog a good chunk of memory and a different push client might be more efficient....who knows.

Thanks again.

You could use resco file explorer to change permissions. I have not done that but can confirm after removing the SYSTEM and READ ONLY permission the file can be deleted (looks like its time for a hard reset hahaha!) I did a fix for the "Big Weather Icons" but it breaks the freakin clock. I dont get it! Arghhh......

First post...longtime lurker, been running DCD 3.2.6 with AGPS, HTC Home etc. etc. It was pretty good but still felt like computer, still felt like windows - I loaded up your rom on a spare bad ESN titan last night, and it kicks ass! I can tell you that you achieved your goal of a rom that feels integrated and consistent...until you have to go into the settings menu or similar, it doesn't feel like windows mobile anymore, and that's a very good thing! And as others have mentioned, the rom feels very snappy and responsive. I really like how everything is so intuitive now, with finger-scrolling through all menus and screens, swipe your finger to rotate a picture, etc. I see this as a huge step towards getting the titan to be more of a sweet, feature-packed smartphone and less of a small computer...keep up the awesome work!! :)

I did notice that it was using the Camera ver. 4 drivers instead of ver. 5. I have the OEMs for both if you want to stick them in the kitchen. 5 doesn't use the flash but a much better camera picture wise.

Ok, the Kitchen Pack I created is uploaded. Here are some things to keep in mind;

I am not an expert at this so I did the best I could. You must have the PPC Kitchen with the Titan 20748 Basekit installed and working. I have not tested this kitchen pack on any other build but in therory woudl work. The OEM's are not all my work and some may have duplicate GUID's as what is in the kitchen. To eliminate this I disabled the PPC KItchen.RAR file in my Projects file. If there are OEM's int he PPC Kitchen that you want you can always grab them out and put them in the USER OEM folder. Thats actually how I did this to start with. I was finetuning these OEMS for a while. Fixing grammar and other little issues with them.

AS always use them at your own RISK! You could of course ruin your device. I will try to help as much as possible but ultimately I may not have an answer or solution for you every question or problem.

Thanks for taking the time to try my work

It is in the zip file. Just stick both in your OEM folder and then you can pick which one at build time (I think, I only use DCD kitchen so not sure with PPCGeeks kitchen). If not then just stick the ver 5 folder in your OEM folder of the Kitchen.

I don't post often, but I'd like to thank you as well. I'd tried installing m-2d myself, and it didn't work out too well, and you made it a lot easier by just being able to flash a ROM. I'd suggest you make a thread on its own though letting people know you've made one (this thread seems more like a request for one, rather than one where it is actually posted already). I'm sure you can see how two threads one saying - "Somebody please make a m-2d rom" and one saying "Here's a m-2d rom!" would have vastly different numbers of clicks.

It could be the files that I uploaded. Do you have to he 20748 kitchen running without errors first? The only thing I did was modify the selections.text to exclude the PPCKitchen.RAR file.

I'll try it again on a fresh installation when I get home tonight. Also what version of PPC Kitchen are you using? I did not test this on the LATEST build as it had a couple issues when it came out.

You can also use the OEM's in other kitchens / projects.

Yes, it uploaded and seems to be running real nice. I'm restoring all my PIM stuff now. 'll check on the build as soon as the restore is done. Btw, I could not deselect "Google Maps". NOTE: If you select Manilla 2D it will FORCE Google maps, HTC Album, and HTC Audio Player to load with the ROM. You may or may not be able to select them but they should turn colors when you select Manilla 2D. Dont worry they will load. Its tied in to the option.xml. If you want to override the Option.XML just edit it and remove those three <requires> tags and you can pick and choose those as you feel. I tried to leave it as Stock as I could other than the custom theme I added from the board.

You got the kitchen to work as well? Awesome!

I didn't touch the page pool. I only modified the OEM's. Thats it. Then I created an exclusionary package so the GUID's would not conflict. Im working ona way to make it so the modified OEM's will get along with the original.

I think I can do this by renaming all the DSM / RGU files as well as mod the pointer in the XML file.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

In a previous on this thread on this post someone has linked to the large Start Menu and the HTC X button a few pages back. You can always install them and be all set.

If you want to customize the Home page of the phone then I have included the Customizer. You can download any of nearly 100 skins for this ROM and install without issue (although I cannot support other skins). Also... a question and a comment...
1) Is there a way to stop activesync from launching itself every minute or so? I do not sync to my PC Outlook but I do connect for file sharing and flashing ROMs.
2) It "seems" like Opera run once will cause M2D to do the "tap to launch TouchFlo" all the time. I ran the default IE and it did not cause this problem.

As far as opera shutting down M2d thats memory related. Opera takes alot more memory. I am sure they will find a way to make this work with IE eventually but righ tnow thats the only browser that M2D works with.

Id like to be able to have that small task manager always in the corner like on the default rom. So i know if anything is running with a quick push and i can quickly see the mem usage.

Any idea how to keep it there? I saw some other m2d roms with it in all the screen shots, figured if i installed it, it should be there always.

Id like to be able to have that small task manager always in the corner like on the default rom. So i know if anything is running with a quick push and i can quickly see the mem usage.

Any idea how to keep it there? I saw some other m2d roms with it in all the screen shots, figured if i installed it, it should be there always.

Id use quick menu instead of that application. You can do alot more with it and its got a smaller footprint.

Quickmenu does the same thing with M2D.....but you can have it show in the middle....only problem is that it is right over the top of the messaging and voice mail icons when you receive one so you cannot see those when a notification comes in...

Did you check the options of the X BUtton. There is an option there to allow it to always be visible or not. I forget where to find that but that sounds like the problem.

I will cook it into my next rom this weekend if you still cant get it. I am also putting the large title bar in as requested as well.

Those are limitations of M2D. Someone is working on tweaking these. Look at the M2D Customizer thread in Hacking and Development. They have a whole slew of requests like this. Once they are implemented I would implement them in my ROM.

Hey Scrosler! So far so good. My observations with only a couple of days use:

1 - BT to a stereo headset (S9) seems to be perfect! In the past I had many drops. Sound quality seems to be better than before.
2 - Battery life looks real good.
3 - I like the sound the phone makes when you end a call and close the phone app. Makes you aware that it is closed.
4 - Memory is still low but I got VC running and normally I never use that. I know that besides M2D VC is a memory hog. I'm using WKTask to try to control this issue.
5 - Do I cook PIE instead of Opera the next time I make a ROM? Or is Opera non-removable? Opera is great but uses too much memory. Using the default IE now.
6 - I like that I can play music and turn off the phone. Cool.
7 - Can you have a default or home screen come up when you cycle power like spd does? I like the home screen but I have to switch to it manually every time.

The ROM is great and makes the phone a totally different tool. Kind of changes it from a PDA to a smart phone aka Diamond/Touch.

1 - Haven't tried it but believe you. I streamed music from the phone to my blue tooth enabled PC and it sounded perfect. I was shocked at what a cheap bluetooth adapter can do.

2 - Battery life can also depend on Radios. I am currently runnign 3.42.50 but feel the native VZW radio gave me even better battery life.

3. Yes I loved that.... At first. Now it is sorta of blasé. But I do like knowing when the phone is hung up.

4. Memory will always be a challenge. One of the reasons people never get M2D to work right on there own is they leave everything enabled. I disabled the useless tabs like Location and Favorites, etc etc. Those are memory hogs. I left what I thought was essential. You can always experiment with the customizer that I cooked in to see what combination works best for you. Once you get it the way you like copy the settings.xml from the phone to your kitchen and then you can cook your settings in each tim. Thats how I got the tweaked version. I just tweaked it with the Customizer then copied the settings over to the kitchen and cooked. Also, keep your PNG and BMP files small. The smaller the graphics are (hence I choose a black and white theme) the faster the device will be and the smoother it will run (less memory!).

5. Yes, I put Opera in there because M2D calls for it. If you want to add M2D without any "restrictions" like that then you have to Mod the option.xml file and delete the three lines that start off with <Required> If you delete those then you can forego Opera. BTW: IE is ALWAYS cooked in.

6. That is cool, heh?

7. I wish it would do this as well. As far as I know there is no way to do it. I'm sure someone with more skills than us is working on something like this. It seems like a pretty reasonable request.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback. Once again, I appreciate it.

I got plans to post a new ROM tonight or tomorrow night. Prolly tomorrow night so I can test. I am going to build off the new kitchen. See how that goes...

Thanks!

But other than that anything i dont' like it out of ur control, like the youtube thing.. awesome just wish i would be complete full screen like tcpmp does.

So in terms of UR ROM.... amazing and thank you again.

Hey Scott,

I'm just fooling with installing M2D over another rom vs. your rom, and I'm wondering how you were able to get the touch "finger scrolling" to be throughout the whole OS - for example, in the "Programs" menu, etc. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong with my M2D installation?

Thanks,

Thats not M2D, thats the version of CE OS that does that. Its something new MS started with the later builds of WinMo

That I am not sure about as I can only test VZW. Im sure there is a way for you to do this. I used the standard carrier cabs from the PPC Kitchen. As I stated in earlier posts I am not too found of those carrier files and wish I had the skills to use the DCD carriers (I do but it would just take too long, the kitchens are so differnet!). You could always try to install a DCD carrier over top what you already have. It wont hurt at all and if it does just hard reset. Actaully give that a try and let us know how it works. I would appreciate you testing this if yo dont mind.

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback!

Awesome, Cant wait to try out the second version of your ROM. I cant believe the speed with the Manilla 2D. Dont know how u did it, but you ARE THE MAN. Never felt so happy using M2D. IM alomost done setting up my OEM's. I actually am I am done. BUT Can you linnk me the latest google maps OEM? If not I can try and create one. I am also including a later version of Opera because the one I had wasnt the latest. Dont know how I did that.

I already added the HTC Task Manager (X Button for those who call it that), Large start menu. Im also working on a new M2D theme. Not much differnt thatn what i have but a larger clock with no analog view. Actually its this one right here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2709784&postcount=1535 I want to integrate the clock but nothing else meaning keeping the icons on the bottom the same color as well as the bar the same color. This is just a bit too black for me

I may add Large Start Menu to final run.

I'll keep everyone posted.

I created the OEM if that is what you are asking. Dont quite understand your question? Will have it in the next ROM that will be out soon. I am also modding the OPTION.XML for Manilla to no longer force you to include any items. I will build the ROM as stock XML file though.

UPDATE!
I got the Camera Verion 5 working both video and pics
Large Start Menu has been added
X Button has been added and is working
Updated to CE OS 5.2.20755 (Build 20755.1.4.0)

I just installed the older version of the ROM (not the pending update) and so far its awesome, exactly what Ive been waiting for. I upgraded from VZW MR1 so I even gave up GPS for it! The only problem I have is the font and scrollbars are so tiny. My eyes arent as good as they used to be. Ive been searching the forums for how to change the system font size in the registry and found lots of information but none of it very helpful. Anyone got a link to a decent set of instructions?

currently running this new updated one, seems ok so far havent messed with it much yet, but the task manager in the corner is great, thanks alot.

I also was able to add my own city for the weather. If anyone else wants to do it its not that hard at all, just gotta edit a file in notepad and load it to the phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2820586#post2820586

If you cannot load it back to the phone install total commander and it will let you copy/move the file into the windows directory. If you still need help read the post or i might be able to assist you.

Anyway back to mess with this updated rom, thanks alot.

just checked the camera out and its pretty cool, but.......... is there a lack of flash for it? I couldnt find the flash option. Dont use it much as it usually white washes pictures, just wondering.

Using new rom right now...so far so good. I like how you changed to the digital clock from the analog. Wasn't a huge fan of that!

I'm sure this will work well as did your previous!

Thanks a lot!!!!

SO No Flash in Camera then. Oh well, I hardly use Camera recently, but if anyone knows how to turn it on.

Quick Question, anyone knows how to Disable Opera as the Default? I have programs that require IE to work correctly. Thanks in Advance

Its not based off anything. It was however created using the PPC kitchen over at www.ppckitchen.org.

Yeah, I understand. I would prefer to use a basic kitchen over the PPCGeeks Kitchen as they are so much simplier to maintain. Unfortuneately I do not have the skills yet to do this. I do plan on creating my very own kitchen one day but that wont be for a while.

In the meantime check out ppckitchen.org for help on using the kitchen.

i just did a fresh boot and had 59% with active sync on and 58% with it shut off. Even in the 70% used range the rom doesnt slow down much at all.

With the leaked 3.56 Sprint rom and everything i had i was at 59-60% on startup so its not that bad.

Not seeing it. I downloaded at a rate of 1 meabyte per sec. Extracted to my desktop just fine. I dont know what to tell you on this one.

Could you try disabling any download managers or any anti virus while downloading and flashing?

EDIT: ALso, make sure you have the latest version of winrar found at http://www.rarsoft.com/download.htm

Ok, here is what I am thinking. You should be able to install a DCD carrier cab located on his threads. This should set up your Carrier better and allow that option. Sorry but I do not know a fix for this other than trying that.

So a couple days later, tried both ROMs and awesome job my friend.

THE ROMS ARE AMAZING, period!! The new build "touchFLOs" a lot better thru out the whole OS. Opera now works better for sure!, and I love how my album art actually shows up on the main screen! (which i didn't personally get with throttle launcher 3d) (still was a good cab!!)

A couple questions when it comes to comparing the two (new and old) ROMs:

1. I'm sure its a simply theme download, but nothing nicer than having it cooked in lol but is there a reason why you switched from the white manilla 2d to the gray? (and included in that is the color "hold down scree" which i thought was cool and unique)?

2. Is there anyway to have the analog clock? I must say everyone one else hated it, but I LOVED IT, the analog clock with the digital real small to the right. Very unique.

Of course the simply solution for me is keep the original ROM, but then i would lose the benefits of the upgrade Google Maps, Opera, and Camera oh AND OS/CE Build cause the touchFLO scrolling thru out the OS works better in the new build.

I probably just typed a lot now that I think about it, if there is a simple cab for the analog clock and white theme for m2d lol!

Possible weather cab for Westerville, Ohio 43081??

Is there a kitchen file for the 2nd rom??

This rom is by far amazing, everything is running well except for a couple of issues after having it for a day:

1. "Tap Here to Restart TouchFlo" shows up after I run certain programs like SMMS, the Camera, Picture Video Viewer, etc...

2. Some programs just stop for no apparent reason, and goes straight to the homescreen.

These issues didn't happen on your last rom where I believe it might have to do with "Task Manager" program that is added to this current one!

It's not a biggie to me as I'm moving to the Touch Pro soon, but just a heads up for your records. Also, You're doing an amazing job...I will donate next week!

The .exe file runs off of the others and uses information from them.
