This is for ne one that is looking for detail in making their Wing/Herald hard spl'd

Please do not get mad at me if it does not work.. But there are a ton of success stories with flashing Wing/Herald to Hard SPL..

#1:
Ok first check your ipl and spl.. You can do this by entering bootloader. bootloader (push the pin hole right under volume slide and hold camera button) you will then enter bootloader.. It looks like 3 color bars and say's ipl 4.xxxxx whatever and spl 4.xxxxx same.. Whatever the 4.xxx is thats what ipl and spl you are.. In order to become hard spl you must at least 4. and higher.. So if you see a 4 then your good..

#2:
Ok now that we have checked, soft reset your phone again and let it load.. This will get you out of bootloader and back to normal mode.. I was very careful on flashing.. So i always reverted back to oem rom.. So get the oem Wing rom or Herald rom.. If you can't find it let me know because i have it.. So just flash oem and let it be stock rom..

#3:
Ok now is getting ready to start from the very beginning.. Now if you have the 3 cabs (canonyang.cab, aserpolicy.cab, disablesecurity.cab) just install them in order as writen . After they were successfully installed soft rest your phone again..

Ok now we start the flash.. Its a scary few moments lol.. But very worth it.. Make sure you are synced and connected to your comp.. I also was extra careful by resetting my comp and making sure all windows were closed and made it so windows weren't open.. But i was extra careful Check the circle and make sure its green or if you have vista it'll be the pda icon lite up.. now open your hard spl folder (the rar. or folder that you dl'd for from the main page) and click on ROMUpdateUtility. Now just wait for it to finish the flash.

- If all goes well then it will come up something like Yang something something.. You will see a dif splash due to you dl'ing a new rom that makes your phone hard spl'd. Let it finish and your good.. Soft reset and enter bootloader and see if spl is 4.70 yang.. If so congrats your hard spl'd!!!!!! fo sho...

* Now to flash other roms all you have to do is get your oem rom and right click on it.. Extract it and you will see its contents.. Among its contents delete the spl.nbh file. Not the ruu.nbh.. Now you click romupdateutility.. I would make the extracted oem a special folder because this is now your new flashcenter.. Ne time you would like to flash a new rom all you have to do is simply replace the rom .nbh of your liking in this folder that you made and run romupdate.. All done.. Easy flashing.. lol.. Welcome to hard spl world!!! Now you can flash at ease.. Ne Herald/ Wing rom you have is now flashable except roms designed for micro sd cards (trasflash cards) Just use the .nbh files..

Please if you are are not ok with my instructions and wish special help(detailed help) with this put it on this thread. Others will learn from others concerns.. Even if the ? has been asked a million times still ask.. Please ask ?'s before flashing if something does not go with instructions..

Once again i'm not responsible for ne thing that happens to your wing/herald.. I am simply trying to help in-detail and be at assistance in ne way possible..

I have a question, I hard spl'd my wing before but since than I got another one since it broke. Do I have to install the cab files in a special order? It seems that I remember doing this in a special order before. I hope I did not over look this question in your thread. Good post by the way.

O no man i wasn't coming close to taking it like that.. It was a big reminder!! Thank you.. Like i said thou i didnt do them in order on my other wing and it worked without a prob.. One little thing: "aserpolicy.cab" is actually "ASerg Policies.CAB" and "disablesecurity.cab" is "Disable_Security.cab" in the OEM ROM you provided a link to.

I just got a used Wing off Ebay. My IPL is 4.10.0002 and my SPL is 4.10.0000 and when I try to HardSPL I get to where the progress bar is but then it says it can't communicate with my PDA/PHone and dies on me.

I installed the CAB files in the order stated then soft reset then ran the ROM UPdate Utility. ActiveSync is active but it says it can't communicate. Did I do something wrong?

*** Edit*** Got this figured out. I needed to go to Settings->Connections->USB to PC and check the box for Advanced Communications then run the ROM Update Utility

I followed these instructions perfectly, I got the new "yang" splash, I checked the bootloader and it confirms the spl is 4.70 yang but when i soft reset to get out of the bootloader and try to start the phone up it says:

"Error-Device start up failed due to sudden loss of power. Please click Yes or No to continue."

But there wasnt a power loss, and it wont let me click yes or no. Anyone know what happened and what I should do?

Awesome. I was worried about doing this because everything seemed out of date and etc on here but I figured the hell with it, it's been months and so many hours this week and it worked. Thanks. I was a little worried about the spl because it looked like an older version and said wm6 and not 6.1. Well everything worked out great, thanks for this. After hours and days of reading every thing I could, this was the only that did not leave me with too many unanswered questions making me worried about doing this.

*UPDATE* So I I did another one today (or tried) and kept getting that 260 error and don't know why yet (I know; it is some place in the forums) and after having it do it about 5 times I checked (unlike you said to) and it never updated the spl etc :( I was in a hurry but I don't think the error was my fault. But now I have a question: What exactly are the 3 cab files for? At first I thought that was what did the hard spl but then after doing it and reading this again (I learn by doing not reading) I realizied it is not. And second question is: Why does it have to be flashed with that ROM to hard spl it?

It did allow me to click yes, I was just trying to touch the yes with my stylus but I had to click the left soft key. I dont know what caused the error but it seems to be working fine now and Ive successfully flashed 4 different roms.

Maybe post how in case this happens to someone else?I have done the same yesterday ... the thing was I've forgot the storage card in the phone. There was mess of previous installation (mostly WM5). Today I've made clear installation of the official WM6 with the card out of slot. It is working perfect now.

Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.

Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.

Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.

Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe

Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.

* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.

Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.

That's it. :-) Welcome to the flasher's world.

When you HardSPL a herald, you can only flash Herald ROMs. CABs are NOT device specific.
When you hardSPL a diamond, you use a DIFFERENT type of HardSPL, which IS device specific. Then you can only flash Diamond ROMs. (I mean, you can flash each other's ROMs, but you'll BREAK your phone.) Again, CAB's are NOT device specific.

This isn't a ROM thread. Look in ROM Development instead, you should be able to find a ROM there.

I am bit confused by the numbering system. Can I use any P4350 ROMs?

Is it necessary to flash the OEM before flashing other ROM? I just Hard-SPL and directly flashed HERALD.ASerg.12.WM61E.WWE on it, without flashing OEM.

I downloaded the official P4350 ROM, which is an .exe file. I can not extract it to find those files.

The cause of this error could be an CID-Lock... and in this case... I dont know what to do.

HardSPL'ing is a very powerful but very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing process. Please read more around the forums and all the guides in order to understand the process properly. If you do not know how what to do with a cab, you shouldn't be messing around with ROMs. You could accidently break your phone. I suggest you start reading around first. ALL the answers are here, it just takes a little searching. (Soon, I'll be organizing the forums and adding guides.)

Blah, I shouldn't be answering this but I will anyways. HardSPL lets you load a non official ROM onto your device without the device checking to see if the ROM is from your carrier. It essentially unlocks your phone so that it ignores wether the ROM is signed by your carrier or not.

As to the second question, if they came with a key that you enter or whatever then yes, but if you bought them specifically one time or they came with your phone then no. Programs from the SkyMarket and such are linked to your LIVE account and can be re-downloaded free of charge however many times you want.

Hi XDA first of all i wanna say Thank You for all the great tools that all of you hard working developers have given us in the past i admire you spoken from a developer myself ok formalities a side i just wanted to say this Do not download this software on less you want your phone to stay with it permanently there is no safe way to un do this ROM trust me i tried everything and as far as i got is a ERROR message and the unholy FROZEN screen i had to get a new phone (T-mobile wing) its a great device i love it but not enough that i brick it well this was my comment there may be a way to in do this ROM and i hope someone finds it but i didnt call me a dumass if you must but i tried i hope no one goes trough what i have with this program cool ass shit program but still bad well thats all XDA user and developers thank you again for all the great programs till next time.:):D;):cool:

This is for ne one that is looking for detail in making their Wing/Herald hard spl'd

Please do not get mad at me if it does not work.. But there are a ton of success stories with flashing Wing/Herald to Hard SPL..

#1:
Ok first check your ipl and spl.. You can do this by entering bootloader. bootloader (push the pin hole right under volume slide and hold camera button) you will then enter bootloader.. It looks like 3 color bars and say's ipl 4.xxxxx whatever and spl 4.xxxxx same.. Whatever the 4.xxx is thats what ipl and spl you are.. In order to become hard spl you must at least 4. and higher.. So if you see a 4 then your good..

#2:
Ok now that we have checked, soft reset your phone again and let it load.. This will get you out of bootloader and back to normal mode.. I was very careful on flashing.. So i always reverted back to oem rom.. So get the oem Wing rom or Herald rom.. If you can't find it let me know because i have it.. So just flash oem and let it be stock rom..

#3:
Ok now is getting ready to start from the very beginning.. Now if you have the 3 cabs (canonyang.cab, aserpolicy.cab, disablesecurity.cab) just install them in order as writen . After they were successfully installed soft rest your phone again..

#4:
Ok now we start the flash.. Its a scary few moments lol.. But very worth it.. Make sure you are synced and connected to your comp.. I also was extra careful by resetting my comp and making sure all windows were closed and made it so windows weren't open.. But i was extra careful Check the circle and make sure its green or if you have vista it'll be the pda icon lite up.. now open your hard spl folder (the rar. or folder that you dl'd for from the main page) and click on ROMUpdateUtility. Now just wait for it to finish the flash.

- If all goes well then it will come up something like Yang something something.. You will see a dif splash due to you dl'ing a new rom that makes your phone hard spl'd. Let it finish and your good.. Soft reset and enter bootloader and see if spl is 4.70 yang.. If so congrats your hard spl'd!!!!!! fo sho...

* Now to flash other roms all you have to do is get your oem rom and right click on it.. Extract it and you will see its contents.. Among its contents delete the spl.nbh file. Not the ruu.nbh.. Now you click romupdateutility.. I would make the extracted oem a special folder because this is now your new flashcenter.. Ne time you would like to flash a new rom all you have to do is simply replace the rom .nbh of your liking in this folder that you made and run romupdate.. All done.. Easy flashing.. lol.. Welcome to hard spl world!!! Now you can flash at ease.. Ne Herald/ Wing rom you have is now flashable except roms designed for micro sd cards (trasflash cards) Just use the .nbh files..

Please if you are are not ok with my instructions and wish special help(detailed help) with this put it on this thread. Others will learn from others concerns.. Even if the ? has been asked a million times still ask.. Please ask ?'s before flashing if something does not go with instructions..

Hi XDA first of all i wanna say Thank You for all the great tools that all of you hard working developers have given us in the past i admire you spoken from a developer myself ok formalities a side i just wanted to say this Do not download this software on less you want your phone to stay with it permanently there is no safe way to un do this ROM trust me i tried everything and as far as i got is a ERROR message and the unholy FROZEN screen i had to get a new phone (T-mobile wing) its a great device i love it but not enough that i brick it well this was my comment there may be a way to in do this ROM and i hope someone finds it but i didnt call me a dumass if you must but i tried i hope no one goes trough what i have with this program cool ass shit program but still bad well thats all XDA user and developers thank you again for all the great programs till next time.

You obviously did something wrong then. Number one, the only reason to remove HardSPL it to send your phone back for warranty service...and number two, you can indeed remove HardSPL very easily. You just flash the original carrier ROM and it restores your original IPL/SPL.

Trying to do the Hardspl on my wing. When I push the little button and hold the camera button, my phone just restarts. Directions say something about "entering bootloader. bootloader " first, but not sure how/where to do this. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks in advance!

I download the HardSpl_WM6.rar and there is a file named canonyang.nbh should a delete it before hardspl it,I saw somehere on the forum that i should delete any file .nbh on the hardspl folder it's that true?
To flash the room to my herald should the use the ruu from HardSpl_WM6.rar or should i use the one on the custom room folder?

I have almost same problem, but seems more worst, cause someone already tried hardspl with 4.70.Yang , and now device is almost dead. It is possible to enter it in boot mode , and i see IPL 1.08.001 and SPL as mentioned above -4.70. Could anyone help with solution to fix problem and upgrade device?

I am litle confused. I have WV 6.0 with SPL 4.0.1... and i want to install Open Touch V7.7. Do i need to hard spl my phone (to install cabs...) or just folowing steps:

. USPL

Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3.

Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.

Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.

Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.

Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe

Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.

* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.

Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.

That's it. :-) Welcome to the flasher's world.

Guys i have a question, i was using Nokia for along time then i decided to change to HTC some of my friends gave me HTC P4350,( HERA100 ) or Herald. He told me that " This phone was locked on Mobinil Egypt Network And Some One Unlocked It " i don't know how he did it but the phone works great with any SIM Card, but there is a problem it's running Windows Mobile 5.0 ( And It Sucks ) i Would like to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 or 6.1
