How to cook your own ROM :

1 - Put your packages in OEM directory
2 - Launch 1_BuildOS.exe
3 - Go to BuildOS tab then Load ROM "Ignore all errors messages"
4 - Click on "GO" button
5 - Wait untill you have a popup windows then select "Create ROM for Polaris" --> OK
6 - When you have DONE in BuildOS program --> execute htcrt.exe
6.1 - Go to ROM builder tab
* in Device Choose polaris
* Change version and language
* in OS browse for os-new.nb in temp directory
* click on Build! --> give a name to your file --> ok

Custom Splash Screen


1 - Download and extract tools from Attachements
2 - Create or download your image "BMP 240x320"
3 - Execute nb_image_converter.exe from tools folder, click on load then search your image file :

4 - Click on "Save .nb" then enter name for your .NB file :

5 - Execute SplashTool.exe --> OK --> select you .nb file --> open :

6 - Execute htcrt.exe --> select "Rom Builder" tab --> From Device liste select "Polaris" --> Select your .nb file previously created in splash zone --> Click on "Build!" --> Save your file as "RUU_signed.nbh" :

7 - Flash your Splash ROM with ROMUpdateUtility.exe

You must have :

- Kitchen for polaris
- XIPPort tools "thanks to bepe"
- M'Reloc "thanks to misar"

I just downloaded ITA kitchen at home and extract it without problem.

delete it then download it again maby your have missed packets with your ISP.

Polaris ROM even with M2D and goodies. And some more
kudos for being so kind to create even tutorials and howto.
Most chefs protect their roms from dumping, maybe to protect
hobby cooks from themselves :D, maybe to get more donations :confused:,
maybe just for no reason. But you take up the cudgels for all of them.
This is what this forum stands for...community!

I have managed to use the Package creator and added "freeware" CABs to a base ROM.

My question is, can I add a program that I have purchased to the ROM? This means, is there anyway to include my activation code/serial code into the package before cooking the ROM?

This would prevent having to locate all the serials and such if I had to hard reset.

in this kitchen you can delete any programmes you want. all are in OEMAPPS directory.

Can I make one last question?

How can I install a package in your default folder?

Example:

In the kitchen have got this folder:
"\SPA\OEM\32_CorePlayer_PocketPC1_25"

With files as: "player.exe", "corehandler.dll", ...

How can I do that instead of copied all the files in the Windows folder, is copied in "\Program Files\CorePlayer\"?

In SYS folder replace all languages directory "xxx_lang_040x" by portuguese folders.

In OEM folder replace OEM_Lang_040X by portuguese folder.

I really like ur kitchen and it is so nice from u that u share this with us.

I have one problem and i want to ask u about it. In to ROM in want to put the program TouchLaunch0_0_4_9. I can do thins with no problem, but it doesnt work in opera. The thing that doesnt work are the titles...i dont know how to explain this but insted of settings i have all numbers...everywhere r just numbers.
And there is another thing that i cant really do...how do u make Package with 2 exe file...example: iContact, when i make the package and when i add it in to OEM and than when i want to make ROM... it tells me that i made a mistake. I am making ne skin in Touch_Dual_Dialer and i dont know where to find the titles (speaker on mute note contact end hold call history talk ), cuz i would like to change them in to black colour.
Do i have to add any of ur fix package in the ROM?

thanx for your kitchen i tried cooking ROM in it, it worked fine, thank you once again.

now i want to include opal phone canvas in it, i converted cab into package and copied in OEM folder and also deleted the Touch Dual Dialer folder from OEM folder now when i try to build it, it gives me 2 errors

1. double package or .DSM found!!! copying only from packages folder!!!, with ok button, when i click ok second error appears
2. Data Exception, with ok button

when i click ok, it stops

can you please tell me how to add this dialer and i also want to know how to add/remove manila and Opal Qwerty Keyboard.

I have managed to use the Package creator and added "freeware" CABs to a base ROM.

My question is, can I add a program that I have purchased to the ROM? This means, is there anyway to include my activation code/serial code into the package before cooking the ROM?

This would prevent having to locate all the serials and such if I had to hard reset.

Note: Is there also a way to insert the Owner information into a ROM as some of these serials/activation codes are tied to the owner name.

Same question, i would want to recook rom with my personal software so i need to change my owner information and to create a config file with reg numbers and option if possible. The program packed in the kitchen contain an option.xml or config.xml file for this (like core player) but i've no idea how to compile it for my programs.
