Ok folks i spent lots of time modifying my Touch Pro.
I would like to share my icons here


PLEASE READ ALL MY NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING!

Instructions:
1. Download my file and unzip it on your Storage Card on your mobile
2. Disable TF3D (Settings-Today)
3. Open Total Commander and navigate to the extracted folder
4. Right click on the manila file that you want to use (you can use the ctl button on Total Commander for multiple selection). Do NOT copy the whole folder containing the manila files; copy ONLY the manila files instead!!!!!! For extra information on the way i organized the zip file check Note 2
5. Click on copy/move. Then select the Windows directory on your phone & overwrite if prompted (Caution: your storage card might also have a windows folder. You need to select the one on your phone!)
6. Re-enable TF3D[/B].
7. Soft reset (only if it is not working yet)




Notes:
1. Landscape mode will NOT work on the Diamond by default (only if its modded to do so. Do not ask me how to do it, i have no idea)
2. Folder Content: The zip file contains separate folders each of which includes the files for a different mod. So for example, the folder "Fire Slider" ONLY includes the files required for the slider to work. you ONLY need to copy the manila files. I included the PNG icons in the zip just in case someone wants to mess around with them.
3. In case the icons don't work, use Diamond TF3D config-->Appearance-->Restore Default and then follow my steps.

i added a couple of custom backround for those who are interested.
Everything you need is in the attachment. To change the background, copy the manila files found under the "Other Backgrounds" folder

UPDATE 24th October

INDIVIDUAL THEME TF3D MODS!! - A small collection (some of these are spread on the forum)
MADE TO MATCH THE BLUE THEME

Place the manila files in your windows directory to get the following to work
1. BLUE TF3D SELECTION (Excluding clock)
2. HOME TRANSPARENT SELECTION (so even if you select it looks like you didnt..keeps the looks clean)
3. BLUE GLOBE WITH BLUE SELECTION (This is only for the GLOBE!!) (copy the manila AND the pictures to get the globe to work!!!!)
4. Transparent Top Curtain (just put it as an addition to a cleaner TF3D)
5. PHONE BLUE SELECTION - Do the following Registry tweak: HKLM\Software\HTC\Phone\highlightColor (set to 0080C0 hex) to match the colour in the screenshot below) Soft-reset to get it to work
6. Blue Volume Bars (Bars by Prewien, Colour modified by me)
Place the File in your Windows directory and soft reset to get it to work

it doesn't work for me . The pc can't copy the file 499b699fe into the windows folder of the pro. Do you know a solution because I like your the a lot

Dont blame me for it not working as it is written clearly that this will only work on the touch pro by default

there is a method to make it work on the Diamond but i cant help with that...there is a thread about it though

anyway, as ALSO mentioned in the first post, this thread will include PORTRAIT icons (which i am working on now), which makes it suitable for the Diamond section

i really would like to help in that but i can never test it as the touch pro has landscape by default..it is possible though, maybe Mar'Cel would like to share how he got it working :D

anyway, Blue Portrait Theme is quite far.. I just made most TF3D icons. I need to make one for calendar and call history for those using them...here is a little teaser of the current status :D :D

2nd. way: Add the Landscape menu as a seperate tab in TF3D --->Link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2658030&postcount=6)
and then use any Screenrotation software u like and enable it for Manila...
But via this way u can only switch to the LAndscape menu when u are in that tab... and it caused some crashes on my Diamond so this is no good solution...

you can use the search function to find those files fast

if you only want to replace them then you dont need to find them individualy. This is what i do
Copy on my storage card
Close TF3D

Overwrite if prompted.
Start TF3D
VOILA! :D

i could but i am not at home now and i wont be until monday..but honestly speaking i dont have all the original files (some i do)

there is a quick fix though...you can delete those manila files from your phone with total commander and the rom will automatically restore the original files..
another way is to use Diamond TF3D config, which can restore the default manila for you..

search in the forum, there are many threads about this..(i think you can searxh for d-man's manila mods

as about cabs i am working on it..i am following the instructions but for some reason i wont work..so it might take a while to figure out.. by the way im using quickcab and vista64 (in case anyone can help)

sorry, my hands are tied on this one at the moment..

i have tried using quickcab, made a proper settings file but quickcab just doesnt want to make the cab file under my vista64

im gonna have to figure another way to do them. Anyway i am open for suggestions. I really want to pack them in cabs

Is there any way if this is made into either a cab or a theme file that it would include the battery and the start icons? i tried to get it to work by using total commander to move the manilla files about but it didnt work and im not sure what ive done wrong. im just gonna be patient and wait and see what happens with this because it looks like the best icons set i have seen so far on here.

It's amazing how nice those icons are on my TP.

By the way, wanted to ask you if you were planning to port the TF3D icons as above in the fire theme. Using RomOS and with the red default background, fire theme would be nicer :p

Anyway, I allready adopted the landscape fire theme and mixed it with handwrting font

as i said, cab creation hasnt worked yet for me..i am following the instructions but i cant get it to work...

I dont know what has happened, total commander moved the files fine. Nothing seems to have changed i get no new icons for either battery, 3g or even the TF3D tabs. I dont mind waiting till it is all in one theme pack.

you had to disable TF3D before moving the files and then re-enable it...

since it seems you didnt do that, do a soft reset and it should work

As about the 3G & battery icons, you are not supposed to see them as they are not included in any of the files above...

I turned off TF3D and ive done countless SR's since moving the files about, any chance i could get a link to some detailed step by step instructions to how to do this?

Sure!

1. I downloaded the theme, transferred the folder to my documents in my
touch pro
2. Disabled the TF3D
3. Soft reset the phone
4. Used total commander to copy all the files to a new folder i created in the
windows directory on my phone
5. Enabled the TF3D
6. Soft reset

Also not sure if this will affect it but a while ago I previously tried to install another theme named 'ken diamond' through 'Diamond TF3D Config'. Would this have something to do with it?

Oh and what doesn't work is that the theme, icons etc are not appearing at all it would still show up as my original theme that came with the phone.

there have been some cases where other themes interfeer. you could try uninstalling the theme first, install my icons and see what happens

How would i uninstall the other theme? as i used total commander to copy that particular theme's files to the windows directory of my phone?

So basically that theme and your blue and white theme are at the moment both in my windows directory...

anyway try these

2. If everything fails, use Diamond TF3D to revert your theme to default. Once that is done you can try and see if my files work for you

I have read every thread. I have been able to transfer manila files to change the clock transparency and slider. but for some reason-i just cannot get your themes to werk, i turn of tf3d restart, instal with Total com. Then enable tf3d and restart. Along with several variations of that. Maybe if I uninstal the diamond tf3d program first?

Oh ok thanks for clarifying, i assumed that when selecting icons in the bottom menu of the TF3D it would instead have a transparent/glass effect instead of a grey/black square. No worries thanks again :)

Just one more question how would i remove that option? (Transparent selection) Would i just need to delete those manila files? I started to delete a manila file e.g. (00ad7edb_manila) associated with this option but then a saw another manila file with the exactly the same code... I just want to make sure i don't delete the wrong files.

if you delete exactly the same files as in my zip it will restore to default

the good thing about manila files is that all of them are stored in your ROM. So even if you delete the wrong one it will be replaced by the original file

if everything fails, you can try to restore the default theme with TF3D config and then install my icon set.

there should be 2 files. 1 is responsible for the Tray icon and 1 for the Hero (the selected icon)
you can try this. Copy the manila files of your phone on a folder on your pc..then use manila editor. When you open the folder within manila editor, you will see on the left the names of the manila files and on the right you will see what icon is in it..So basically you want to find the ones which have the same sprint TV icons that you have now...

if you can post those 2 files for me, i can modify them with some fire icons

I do have a "tweak" problem though.

I tried the blue and white theme... I opened up the PNGs in the folder and did some editing ((mostly hue changes)) and saved them , all file names the same.

THEN

I copied over the manila files and the PNGs, it loaded up as you said they would.....BUT its displaying the original blue and white PNGs ??

I tried to open your Manilas to see what the problem could be they seem encrypted ?

as its mentioned in the instructions, you do NOT copy the png icons, ONLY the manila files.

the manila files contain the pngs, so you have to use manila editor to edit them

I have done this. Manila editor cuts off my icons. Ive tried my own and Ive tried the ones you included. Nothing seems to work. Any tips ?

I noticed that you have a lot of mods for landscape mode when it is already there, but do you know which manilla files make the landscape mode appear at all? I have a couple of themes that don't have the landscape mode used by the Touch Pro. I guess that would be fine for the Diamond, but I need the landscape home screen also.

as soon as you are using png icons of the proper size it should work...(by the way, for landscape mode its 128x128)

If I overwrite an original manila file using Total Commander, how do I restore the original manila files and revert to default? Will the Diamond TF3D Config's "Restore Default" option work even though I didn't use its "Select Theme" function to change the theme in the first place?

Related question: if I delete any given manila file, will WM6.1 automatically re-create it on next soft reset (like when you delete an IE index.dat file, XP re-creates it on restart for system stability)? If not, are they restored on hard reset?

whenever you delete a theme manila file, the ROM will automatically replace it without the need for a reset. (diamond TF3D requires you to soft reset though)

Thanks. After installing the manila files, the icons in the tray are good to go and look wonderful except that whenever a tray icon is selected, it's my default icon. Any thoughts?

I copied all the manila files from the "Blue & White Portrait Icons" zip first, and I had this problem. So I thought by copying the files from the "Blue & White Portrait IDENTICAL TABS" zip it might fix the problem, but the problem was still there (screenshot as shown).

This theme is exactly what I was looking for! Easily the best theme I've found. I'm a noob, so I've got a few questions if you'll bear with me... This was the first time I've edited my Reg or installed a theme of any kind. If there is a forum specificly for Noobies, please direct me to it...I looked and didn't see one. fyi- I'm on an Alltel Touch Pro CDMA.

Question one: The Slider on my TF3d doesn't cover the full icon. It's about 25% too narrow. Is this normal or is there something I can do to fix this?

Question two: My windows bar at the top and bottom of the page are still the default colors. Did I do something wrong when loading the theme or is there a way to manually change these to black? (Same question for the bars in landscape as well as the background color.)

Question three: For some reason my background image is still the same. And the image only appears on the Home screen. Is there a way to make that image appear in the background of of every TF3D page?

Question four: how do I get the image in the background of my start menu to corospond with the rest of this theme?

Again, I am very sorry for suck noob questions. I looked all over for a noobie thread and didn't find one. I truely love your theme (at least what I've been able to do so far). Thanks again.

1. i doubt its normal.the slider is covering the whole icon on mine..im not sure why this is happening though.
2. this theme did not include any modifications to the taskbar (icons and colour). The black taskbar that i have is from the htc black theme on my touch pro
3. Background image can be changed manually (on TF3D scroll to settings and then wallpaper
4. this is a more complicated procedure. The resolution of the image for the rest of the tabs is about half of that in the homepage. (im not sure if full res works properly). This means that if you use an image with high details it wont show very nice. i have attached a background which does show nicely. Follow the same method as the other modifications. If you dont like it you can delete those 2 files from your windows folder and it should revert to the original

Thanks for the backgrounds! I've have to take a second and throw them on the phone. I was trying to change the today background in windows settings...I completely forgot about the TF3D settings. Sometimes it just takes Mr. Obvious to help me figure stuff out I guess.

I also noticed that when I slide over a TF3D icon, the image inside the slider actually reverts to the system default icon (except for the internet icon). Could this problem be tied into the same issue that I'm having with the size of my slider? Or is this normal? As soon as the slider is off of the icon, your themes icon reappears.

Also, is there a place to tweak the windows color schemes? The preloaded themes with my Alltel Touch Pro did not include a black theme. It would be nice to have control similar to the Advanced Apperance controls in windows desktop properties. As it stands right now, my phone appearance looks pretty strange with your icons and my color scheme. (It'd be even better if I could make them transparent.)

I still can't for the life of me get the background image on my start menu to change. Am I missing something totally obvious there too?

And finally- If I use Manila customizer to change something (ie the slider), then want get back to your slider will I have to reinstall it. Or will your slider return by defaulting TF3D config?

I think that's all the questions I have. Thanks for the patients in dealing with this noob. I'm hoping tht I can actually contribue to this community in the future. Just need a little help getting started.

yup same exact problem with me and I was sure to follow all instructions. Also i was unable to delete the manila files as instructed to restore default using total commander..said could not delete file. I was sure to disable touchflo 3d first.

edit - I was finally able to delete the manila files by copying empty files (text documents with no data with same name) into /windows overwriting the existing manila files, then deleting those and soft reseting. That restored my landscape icons to default.

I then tried once again, disabled touchflo, copied the manila files into /windows as instructed, re-enabled touchflo, and still only the web search and tasks icons changed. The rest stayed the same. (using blue and white theme)

I then tried again this time using blue and red theme using same steps described above. Same results, only web search and task icons changed.

I then tried a third time using the reset default theme option, same results.

I then gave up and restored all my landscape icons. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

one other detail, even though the other icons remained the same the highlight color of all the icons changed according to the theme. Red border around default icon for example.

this is not normal but seeing the problems with the sprint touch pro, i would assume that the altel touch pro might also use some difference files and/or settings that may cause this behaviour..

for windows themes you can try ThemeGenCE..this software allows you to tweak many colour settings.

Background image:
TF3D-->Scroll to settings-->Wallpaper-->(would you like to use the default wallpaper? "No" then search for your picture and select it..thats it basically

TF3D config will also restore the slider:)

Dont worry, everyone is a beginner at some point..wasn't too long ago that i had no clue about windows mobiles:D:D

I downloaded your Blue Volume zip to my Fuze. I unzipped it to my My Docs and then tried to copy it over to Windows as you instructed. Should I copy over the folder or just the HTC Volume Control file within the folder? I tried just the file, but there is already an HTC Volume Control file in Windows directory and it wouldn't let me overwrite.

All you have to do is select all of the manila files then archive them as a single .zip file. Once you have done that, just right click/rename and change the file extension from .zip to .theme. That should allow you to use TF3D config tool to install the theme.

Noone has really answered lbhocky19's and my own question: we can only get tasks and internet to change when copying files over, it apparently has to do with sprint stock rom. Any ideas of solutions? I don't know what to rename the manila files in order for it to work :(

hmm if im right the windows folder contains a screencapture exe

you can do this:
open total commander (or another file explorer..) and search for Screencapture..TC should find an exe in your windows folder. now when you click on it it automatically makes a screenshot which also is saved in windows folder with the name screencapture.bmp i think. So in other words you have to search another time for screencapture to find the image..

Alternatevely, in order to make the procedure faster for the next time, once you find the exe, tap and hold, then click on copy/move and copy the file to an easier to access location on your phone (lets say on your Storage card or under a folder in your program files..whatever helps you)
This tool will ALWAYS save the screenshot in the SAME folder as the exe



Personally i use Capsure which takes it a step further..you can decide the storage location, format (jpeg too which makes the file smaller..you can set the name for the file..you can also have it countdown to capture (lets say capture in 1min or make a screenshot every 1 min up to #of shots)

Yes I'm not a noob sorry I should have posted what I tried. I tried exactly like it says overwrite files with tflo off turn on look not working soft reset done that not one icon or color changes. I'm using a cdma sprint tp does that matter?

Hi im trying to get the blue and white portrait to work on my Fuze with TF3d config

I extracted all the manilla and png files out of the Blue and White Portrait Identiacal archive file (except those in the backup directory). Then put them in a single directory zipped that up and renamed to a .theme. I copied that into my theme directory. When I tell the TF3D config to enable that theme it goes through the process but then when I reboot it has the ATT Fuze theme running instead. Did I do something wrong?

Ok, so i seem to have hit a brick wall. I have almost everything as i want it now exept fot the blue and white icons off the first post. I have installed total commander and followed the instuctions for copying the manilla files into windows on my phone but it says it cant overwrite. I also tried converting the zip file to a cab file but that wouldnt work either (doesnt help thaqt my work PC is utter crap!) If anyone is nice enough to make just the blue and white icons into a cab for me i will be eternally greatful.

as mentioned in the first post you have to do it with total commander (or any other file explorer that allows you to overwrite system files)

I tried with Total Commander already, I dont know what it is that i am doin wrong. I was able to get the top bar mods (batter, bluetooth and signal meter) to work with overwriting manilla file but it wont let me do anything with this!

Ill keep trying and see what happens hopefully i can get it to work.

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to the touch pro. i was able to copy over everything, however the tab icons and the globe in the later post are not working for me. everything successfully copied into the windows folder, so i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong here. any help would be greatly appreciated! this is by far the nicest set of themes i have come across in any forum. great work!

just to confirm, you copied the manila file and the 2 image files only? you shouldnt copy the actual file containing the images..

it COULD be an altel thing but first of all make sure that you are not copying any folders. You have to copy the manila files only

got the manila only. to make it easier for me, i extracted all of them into 1 folder then moved them in mass. is there a piece of software that can be used to assign the icon to each task bar icon as i pass over them? they are right until the slider is moved over them, at that point the over icon reverts to the stock one, and does not show an identical icon to yours. the only one that is correct is for the web. the large icon above the task bar is correct as well. love your work. wish i was that talented :) my experience lies with the PPC6800. i didn't do anything with my Touch or the Diamond that i had. i appreciate you help

i do have the same issue as hawkingsright...i have alltel as well. if you find a solution please post it.

also the green/blue color on the rest of the tab backgrounds is apparently alltel thing too. all the themes look amazing with the black default from another carrier, then i get that dang green/blue color mixed in. I have read for the most part that im stuck with it. but i did find one post with a file that changed the background for all tabs. i am a noob too, so i am wondering if anyone has any other fixes for that as I didnt overly like the only one i found. or easier on others...the file contains 2 manila files and a thumbs.db, how could I change those to get what I want.

So I figured out what's up with the Alltel touch pro. The way it works, is, when you slide your slider bar over a tab, the icon goes from matte to glossy. This, of course, means you have to have two separate icons. I copied every single one of my Manila files off my phone, and I will soon be able to Upload .zip or .rar file of all the right icons (For all of you using the blue theme, you will have to change it yourself. I'm using the fire theme.) For people with the European version of the phone, your icons on the slider don't do this, so you only need one set of icons. If I'm lucky, I'll have it done by the end of today.

sorry the green/blue was the background color and the semi transparent bar at the top and the bar on the tab icons. i found a theme that changed the background and those bars though so i no longer have the ugly color lol.

i did mess with the touch pro also and found the same thing as m4xx0rz. i ended up making my own icons and just copied the same icon for the two different manila files that alltel uses.

this thread is great and has helped me to get my phone look like i want it. for those making the icons and/or themes, you guys are great. i learned its time consuming and often frustrating (at least for a noob). thanks a bunch!

Kinda new to Landscape themes... when i downloaded the.. Blue & White Portrait Icons.zip it works but when i open to landscape mode every icon name has IDS_ before it ie:IDS_EMAIL any idea how to fix or what i can do to change that? cuz on the picture its just Email, Messages.. etc no IDS added.

sorry to reply so late..just saw your visitor message. I have everything made on the UK version but honestly i dont see a reason why it should matter..The files that i provide are just icons and the language does not matter..
I suggest that you copy and replace my icons again and see what happens..I once got something similar on my weather tab where it said ids_sunny or something like that. I didnt know how it got there..I used TF3D config and restored the default theme and it was back to normal. I then installed my themes again and it was fine.. You can try it if you want and see if it works for your too

honestly i do not know what file is responsible for displaying the bars. It looks to me that my file is still there so thats not the problem. You could try restoring the default theme with TF3D config and see if that fixes it..Otherwise you can search for HTC volume and see if that brings up anything..

Giannis86, Wow! your themes are amazing!!! I ordered my Sprint Touch Pro and i will receive it tomorrow. I cant wait to get it so that I can install your Blue and White Theme! Best one I have seen in the past 3 days that I have done research. However, I was wondering if there is anyway to install the taskbar icons you have in this snapshot to the Black and White Theme. These icons seem to be more 3D looking. That is the only thing that is making the Black and White theme from being PERFECT for me. Thank you so much for your hard work!

Sorry tu bug,

I think I'm doing something wrong, I downloaded the Fire Theme with Calendar and Call History, followed all the instructions precisely using Total Commander (great tool by the way) I copied all the Landscape Manila files and Portrait Manila files to the Windows Directory and they all overwrote with no issues. (I did disable TF3D before doing this). Finally I soft Reseted and enabled Tf3D. All icons are there and the Theme seems to be applied, but:

1. The Calendar and the Call History tabs not working (Are this tabs supposed to be at the buttom curtain?) Or are these the ones just under the clock?
2. Landscape theme is not working (This is weird because I never had trouble using my TF3D in Landscape mode) I did read on posts saying that Landscape needs to be activated, but since My landscape has always worked, why would it get disabled when applying this theme?

I have an ATT Fuze which is the HTC Touch Pro rebranded.

I really don't want to miss-out on this amaizing theme in Landscape mode

One las thing, does this theme come with a Clock? or do I need to add my own. (I don't see a Clock in any of the Pictures)

EDIT-->Nevermind about the LandsCape issue, I used Diamond TF3D config tool to reset my defaults and now my landscape works.

Now my issue are:
1. My font letters are all Black since that is the default of the ATT Fuze TF3D.
2. Also I still have that ugly stock Clock, Would be nice to have a Fire Clock built by you.
3. In addition my Home Walpaper is whatever I assign, But the screens for the other tabs continue showing tha uggly AT&T wallpaper, I would rather have it be black instead of that ugly Grey AT&T sphere, (can I have your background that displays on all the Screenshots in this thread?) and, is there a way to change the background of the other tab screens?

Noob question.....
So it says to copy the manila files into my windows folder. I assume i just drop them in the main folder. Also, there are files in there with the same name and it is asking me if I want to overwrite them. This is what it should be doing, correct? Sorry for sounding like an idoit. I can do CABs, ROM flashes and regedits, but this makes me nervous.

I have the sprint touch pro. im trying to use total commander the pc and phone versions but the phone version wont let me copy the files over and the pc version wont find the windows directory on the phone just the stuff on my storage card. Any suggestions?

Are you getting an error or what step are you having problems with?

Once you open TC browes around the folders to your Storage Card. Once there push the CTRL button on the program and highlight all the manila files. Then theres a dual window icon that is for copy / move. Select the windows DIR and select move.

My problem is that is getting rather annoying is once copied nothing changes O_O. It asked me to overwrite every file in the win dir and once done and Tf3d was turned back on nothing was different. Rebooted the phone back to the stock setup.

Retried 3 times now with no change.

Is there a special way to disable TF3D or is just unchecking it from startup good enough? Do you have to change themes to this?

Edit : I have it partially working, the mode with the keyboard out updated but not the regular tf3d section. I shall keep trying through.

First, let me say that this is most impressive Icon pack that I have found so far so thanks for the great work!

I have a couple of questions.

1) I have both a "Sound" and "Communications" tab on my touch pro. What do I need to do to change those icons to match with your other icons (screenshots below)?

2) I like the icon pack that has matching toolbar and larger icons, but there are a couple of them where I like the other icon. For example, for your email icons, I like the mailbag better. How can I adjust the manila files so that both icons are the mailbag instead of the pen and ink bottle?

got it all loaded finally but i have a few questions

I cant get my TTF3D config to work, gives me an error when i try and open it so i cant get the icons to pull up like they are on the screen in your pictures. Also, i went into phm regedit and under the phone tab i didnt see a "highlightcolour" so i cant change it to red.

Any idea how to get tf3d to open so i can change the way the icons appear and how can i change the color to red?
