If you're looking for a hardware update, then the Treo Pro (also known as the 850 internally) has been released and works on GSM networks. In the US there is the 800w on CDMA.
Software-wise, there has been no official update to WM6.1 - but there is a very good "cooked" version for the 750V. If by any chance you are after a Palm OS update then you're completely out of luck - PalmOS is effectively dead in the water.

I'm actually looking for a Treo with WM os. I hate palm.
To be honest, I like the ergonomics of the treo 750, but it lacks built in GPS receiver. I currently own an HTC Artemis 3300 which rocks, but I l;ike the keyborad of the treo.

Well you could try the Treo Pro. I have just upgraded from a 750 (which was great) and it is a really cool device

Hi johntaylor,
I can't find any info if the Treo Pro has GPS receiver. I can only find websites saying it has GPS, but I'm not sure whether oyu can use GPS navigation via GPRS or 3G network just like the stupid iPhone.
Can you confirm that it has built-in GPS receiver

Thank's for the link libal, thats where I got confused.
Down the bottom of the link, it says:
"Email, web, and GPS require an account and data services at additional cost".
I really don';t know whether this handset can be used as stand alone GPS receiver, or it only works as "A-GPS" which means its at an additional premium.

The Treo Pro GPS works well with Google Maps. I haven't figured out how to get turn-by-turn directions for free yet but the GPS receiver doesn't require a subscription to utilize. I used it to navigate almost 200 miles in to upstate New York and I found that I had to page the directions it would automatically scroll them. For what it is I think it works well. I hope this helps answer your question.

I think that if you use a software like IGO or TOMTOM or others you do not need data service

Hi NM8,
The tro pro has full GPS and does not need a data connection to work. It does however use an internet based service to download ephemeris data for the GPS satellites to speed up getting a fix. I use Tomtom and TGPS software on my pro and both work aboslutely fine. I have a data connection, but just for fun I deleted all the data and got it to fix without it.
As an aside, the ephemeris data is valid for a week and the phone is smart enough to download it via activesync and can be prevented from downloading it over cellular data.
I've had the pro for two weeks now and love it - it is an all-round fantastic phone.

That answers all my questions. Thanks. I use HTC Artemis P3300 and the ephemeris data can be downloded via activesync, gprs, or wifi. So the treo pro works the same.
I have decided to wait a frew more months or wait for a new treo model. I don't like how the treo pro looks. I actually prefer the design of the 750.
Thank's a lot.
