Here is the v4.0 of my rom.

Its "ofcourse" a m2d "sidekick" :) with polaris camera and touch dual dialer

2 socalled bugs----

There is no Album and Java, but I did forget to remove the links, so there is 2 dead links in the \programs folder, either delete them with total commander,or you do as I suggest and find a album version that will work for you. Also install a java version of your own choice.

edit: Opera is also missing (intentionally). You can find the latest builds in this part of the forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=260)

I think most of apps cooked in this is same as the other m2d roms, but some slight diffrences like in.ex sip-change...

The reason why the "bugs" are present is because I had a crash in my harddrive that contained the last version of v4, and so this version is the latest backup I have of it.

and, the new clock I had made, I dont have it anymore. But I will try recreate it someday.

Im trying to recover most of my HD, but 38% has bad sectors when I scan it, but I hope most can be restored, because I have tons of other important stuff there with no backup :(

sad sh.t, but thats life :(

So please dont yell about late release and this and that missing, because yes, its not complete, and perhaps it wont be ever.

But I have started on a clean new base rom, and are gonna build something new from it. But it wont be manila stuff..

Hey ITJE, sorry to hear about your HD crashing. Mine died about 2 months ago and i was not happy to say the least :p

Anyway just a quick question, could you give us a run down on what you have fixed? Or is it just registry tweaks and such?

And to Bastita, if its not too much trouble, and you are trying V4.0 Could you give your Manila Video fix a try and see of it works on V4.0?

Sorry for HD. I use a program called SyncBack which makes zip archives from folders I choose at times schadeuled by me. It free, fast and runs in the backgroud. So I backup my brograms 2 times a day directly on the USB Stick.

Qustion for this ROM: what build ?, what Radio ? How people feel about this compaired with last Touch version ?

Hi ITJE,
first of all sorry for any data loss from your crashed HD... hope you manage to recover all important data. Eventually try some Data Recovery software ... try them from ipmart (yyy.ipmart-forum.com) or (yyy.softarchive.net). Well if any serve you ... buy it, but after that invest on a bakup system or get 2 or 3 HD and connect them on a Raid formation (thats what I have and never lost data since).

... can you be more specific? "Not Manila"... what else? on HTC world? Is it for Polaris? (hope so!!!:D).
Since this new release won't be for tomorrow, I'm thinking about trying HTC official 6.1 Rom with SPB Mobile Shell 2.xx + Manila 2D Skin (yyy.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=290844).
What's your advice (anybody)?

Itje, just in case you don't know it:

Very often the hard disk itself is not destroyed, its just the controller. If you can not restore your HD, try this:

1.) buy exactly the same HD
2.) open both HDs - the new and the old one
3.) change the hard disks itself - that means use your old hard disk in the housing of the new hard disk.

Overwrite 2 times, sometimes it doesn't work, i'm sure.

After a little while on this ROM, I've found it to be good, but a little slow.

Photo and Email tabs are missing, but that was easily solved by installing M2D customizer and re-enabeling them (although as per itje's 1st post, there is no album present).

Only other issue is that I'm not sure how to change the background image. Changing wallpaper only has an effect on the home tab. Don't get my wrong, I like the girl, but....


All in all, it's a little slow for me, so will be headding back to 3.6

After installing the M2D on an official build i was not impressed with the performance at all. Now this rom is fast and smooth. great work!

a question though, i installed the latest opera, but the "launch browser" button still doesn't work... am i doing something wrong?

Only one issue to tell you, external to the ROM itself : after re-flashing and installing M2D Customizer 0.6.97 on top, Touch Flo is not starting aymore if I'm switching between themes. The workarround was to restore the orginal theme.

Not sure this is because of the manila itself or because of the customzier. Anyone got same issue so far? Thx for your feedback..

i am now missing the maps and email page too. it was there the other day... I now have home, weather, people, sms, programs, internet, music and settings. the internet page still wont launch opera even though i have installed the latest version of opera.

I use the default radio that come with rom, i think 1.59.42.15, yes, i hard reset-it, after flashing rom. I d'ont know if i have manilla 3d, or not, is in the rom? On wich one, 3.6, or 4.0?

Nothing important, I think, because my house is in one part of the town, with bad coverage, and i have, 2-3 lines of signal, outside my house, 1-2, or nothing, inside.
I hope i can find, a good radio version, to be able to have, signal in my house, but i still searching.

I'm experiencing same issue with 'Biotouch.exe', but in my case when I'm opening e-mail directly from m2d. The error with this file remain permanently on the screen.I can run other software but the error stays. workarround is to reset Polaris.I'm using as well touch-it 4.0.Itje, any reason why? You may have solved this allready. Download the latest version 0.28.233 of M2DC and use the background tab to point to the location of your png image, select it and hit Apply, it will change all backgrounds. Changing wallpaper from Manilla's settings tab will only change the Home tab's background.
