Hi I downloaded Skyfire last week works good.. like how its pretty much a full browser with flash etc... But I had a question for other user of Skyfire.. I read online that we shouldn't use it for personal accounts like bank, credit cards etc. because its still a beta version and they track your moves.. any truth to this? Thanks.. works great though anyone else using it?

its not because it is beta its because all the data it sends to your phone is crunched by a server and sent to you and then you send it back to a server...... so all your data you send and receive is logged somewhere in a server. basically it a security risk because you are adding another middle man.

From wat I understand all pages go through their servers, and get funneled to you as a snapshot. That is how flash works. I would not be feeding any personal information knowing that!

Same here. I only use Skyfire for fun. Anything important goes out via Opera.

I didn't realise this. Is Netfront the same or is it ok to use banking and log into websites etc on Netfront 3.5?

Cheers,

DJ

Besides, why would you want to use Skyfire for banking, don't you want to be able to read the text? Meh.

Skyfire is cute for watching youtube...... that's about it.

The only real use I have for Skyfire personally is for following baseball. For those who wish there would be an app like the iPhone's MLB at Bat for WM, Skyfire provides a great solution. Go to mlb.com, click on the Gameday feed for the game you want, THEN click on Gameday Mini. Ouila! A full screen, updating game follower that's only about 10 seconds behind live. Haven't tested it with other sports.
