Very slow GPS on new DCD/Radio

So, I have the latest GPS Radio and latest DCD ROM and I still seem to have very slow GPS. I've been reading different things about people trying programs and other hacks to speed it up.

My question is... is there something stable that works consistantly?

I'm a kids magician and many times, if I'm lost, I need to get directions quickly without alot of hassle or wait.

Any ideas?

Have you done GC GPS fix? Also define what you mean by slow..
