i found that programmers where able to make this thing work on devices earlier then the universal, i contacted one of them and he said manilla 3d can run on softwere renderers quite good, so we just need the adequat drivers...

Are you sure you are talking about Manila 3D? Manilla 2D is running on the Blueangel and I don't see why it wouldn't run on the Uni if it was VGA but unfortunately it's not. Don't know if someone can make it vga or guide as how to.
On the other hand, Manila 3D is very resource hungry so I don't see how it could run on the Uni. It slows my Touch Pro down quite noticeably. Not to mention it's size. With Manila 3D you will probably have no space left for other applications.

VGA version of Manilla 2D already exist and it runs on Uni. But it is very resource hungry, it is not perfectly fluid, and it doesn't support landscape.

My experience also - once you load the VGA icons, etc you are left with pretty much no room in your ROM. Pity, particularly as the M2D version they are working on is a port from VGA down to QVGA as I understand it.

I´m sure it´s possible to run, but the question will be how slow my 64mb Uni will be with that app running?

I´m using HTC Home, Opera, Messenger, S2P, PCM contacts & PCM Keyboard and speed, stability and performance is in a good average.

Hope someone can give more advices

Cheers,

I see that you still use Tomal 7.6....was that realy that stable ? Maybe I should give a try because I star using Tomal from ver 7.7 and it drains my battery. Ver 8.2 taste good but I don't like the vibrate at the end of phonecall...could you point a way to tomal 7.6?
thx

Hi

Yes I found it very stable and no battery draining as fast as 7.7.
I´m sure once Tomal recieves his new Uni he will develop a new ROM better than the ones we have now, but till that time I´ll stick to a stable and fast 7.6.

all my battery probs with tomal 8.2 where resolved after i changed the battery,
the problem is that we should fully charge the battery before flashing the new ROM,
otherwise it will be damaged and it will start turning off @ high percentage like 50 or 60% or whaterver...

Any one can help, where i can get manila 2D for VGA?

Search for it in the Development and Hacking subforum. Be warned that it will use up A LOT of memory on Unis

I Dono If Someone Is Able To Work On Creating Softwere Rendering Drivers For Our Beloved Uni.

I'm Not Into Programming But I Guess Once The Drivers Are Created Manila 3d Should Be Able To Work Without Vga Porting Since It Was Made For Vga From The Start. And With The Adequat Customisation It May Not Eat All The Memory (hopefuly)
