Hi, I'm new to Smartphones and it can be bit bit much. I've search to see if I could find what I wanted to know. No luck I must not be correctly phrasing what I'm looking for, because it is a very simple question, I'have found and learn a lot about rom flashing though.

But back to my question. I bought my daughter a T Mobile Dash, I have SIM and application unlocked the phone and my service provider is AT&T. My daughter can't send pictures in her texts. They just sit there and are never sent. Could somebody enlighten me on where to look for or tell me what to do?

Also what does the spinning W near the right hand corner mean?

Thanks in advance

Thank you jdoggraz, for the help. I did run into a problem when I got to the section about MMSC Settings for MMS. My daughters dash is running WM6, not WM 6.1 like the Wiki states. On this phone there is no Scroll to MMS > Menu > Settings > MMSC Settings. So I can't make the changes. Will I have to flash the phone with WM6.1?

Thanks again

No I do not believe so, try this click the message icon in the bottom right of the phone, and then scroll to MMS and see if you can change the settings from there... if not you will probably have to upgrade to 6.1, i would recommend you do that as your daughter will probably enjoy the threaded texting much more... and it offers other nice features... I would recommend using Rickys version 24 6.1 Rom, a tutorial is below in my signature that tells you how to upgrade to 6.1... follow it step by step...

I have an s620 on ATT and I can't send MMS or Picture Texts. It took me some time to realize but I came to the conclusion that it isn't the phone's settings, it's the fact that my plan does not allow for MMS. It doesn't even let me send/receive them and pay per Kb sent. I only have SMS, no MMS package so I can't receive or send picture texts. This may or may not be your problem as well :).

Oh good point made... That is pretty weird cause with T-Mobile you can still send and receive MMS even though you do not have the plan, you will just have to pay for it... Or you can always opt out and have them blocked...

No that's not it, I have twin daughter s one has a Pantech Duo the other has an unlocked Dash. The Duo sends and receives pictures just fine. So my plan allows for that. I tried looking at the settings on my daughter's Duo but those SOB"s at AT&T lock you out of the settings so you can't access them. She has WM6.1 on her Duo is there way to take off those locks so I can see she has her MMS set up?

So did it end up working for you man?

Ajrgonz
4th December 2008, 09:38 PM
On the first try no, I think the problem might be in inputting the password in the
GPRS, it calls for all upper case letters, since you can't see what you are inputting ( every character is swith to an * ) you are not sure if they are entered as Upper Case. I'm going to leave a post to see if one of these two guys responds. Got keep on trying, the solution is out there.

Ajrgonz

I think I found the problem, lets see if someone can help me. Like I stated I believe the problem is with the password. CINGULAR1 is a nine digit password. I keep entering CINGULAR1, I hit done. It backs me out and I re entered MEdia Net I always have a 16 digit password. If I blank it out and hit done when I re enter it will stay blank? Can something be done?
