Hard-SPL for x7510 and some other useful releases

ok, so you got it finally :)

this post deals with hardspl, the next one will deal with ROMs :)

Features:

- this is unsigned Hard-SPL and ignores CID too, so custom roms or dumped & reconstucted roms (and any htc rom update) can flash. but it enforces ATHE400 modelid (I patched it for that). so ATHE***** or ATHE100 roms will be rejected. ATHE400 or ATHE400** is accepted.
- also, this has SPL overwrite protection, so won't accidentally get overwritten. but if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, a stock SPL downgrade package is also available here.
- if your x7510 gets stuck on booting OS, then I have another way to revert to stock SPL in the cases when warranty is needed, this is a new special feature of the overwrite protection!

Requirements:

- first, if you have x7500 or x7501, then do not flash this.
- to download a compatible hardspl package for x7500/x7501 go to the other Athena subforums.
- also, make sure you have .NET framework installed on your PC! if not, get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
- finally, if you have vista, WMDC update is recommended: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx

Instructions:

1) download Hard-SPL package from attachment, extract to an empty folder.
2) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3) run x7510_HSPL365.exe
4) follow steps in the RUU, and check on the device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) it should go to tricolour screen now and say 3.05-OliNex (3.05 is for SSPL version, the original SPL is 3.05.0000)
6) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 3.65-OliNex (3.65 is for Hard-SPL version, the original SPL is 3.05.0000).

NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the camera button (ALL THE WAY IN) then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the camera button when bootloader tricolour screen appears.

NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPL-Manual-x7510.exe from the SSPL-Manual-x7510.zip attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is in SSPL, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.

NOTE 3: do not use this RUU to flash anything else! this is only intended for flashing SPL's.

NOTE 4: flash stock SPL *only* if you need to return the phone for warranty. only use it as last step - after reflashing stock OS and radio. usage: run the hardspl exe but do not press Next yet then replace the RUU_Signed.NBH with the stock spl NBH (posted here too), then go flash.

yes there'll be a 3.5 standalone package soon for ATHE100. that's one nice idea of bundling both ATHE100 SPL's, I'll remember that when making it :)

btw that 3.5 SPL has a feature to accept OS of 0x410 NBH type, which was meant as the NBH type for 3.5 SPL ROMs, and that would of course not be accepted/flashed by 1.2 SPL, but that somehow got forgotten :( , so the SPL 3.5 roms are all still 0x400...
at least this mistake can't be made now for the ATHE400 SPL, the modelid feature is not something that can be forgotten about =P

I have flashed both versions of WWE x7510 posted on this thread. Both of them show the same specs on settings "about" and "device info".Has anyone comfirmed this?Even the rom date is the same.Also I have flashed the WWE clean rom of xacsx and still the same.And it is natural because he has used the same stock rom posted here.Cmonex maybe u have done a mistake and have uploaded the same file(?)Please check it out because the result will be tha we once we make a mistake we will make another one based on the first one like the clean WWE rom of xacsx if of course I am right.Thanx

you can use athena kitchen, of course with different base rom, and set modelid to ATHE400, this is very important. XIP handling is the same.

btw, modelid is correctly set if you use NBHUtil to pack NB file to NBH to make it flashable :) just select x7510 as the device

ok, confirmed, somehow i uploaded 3.27.405 both times... the other one would be 3.12.405 just in case someone wants that, but that one is a beta.

I have instaled HardSPL as said in this thread and tested that the version was ok on the bootloader screen. Then I started to test my own cooked ROMs (flashing them with the x7510Wrapper.exe). I had tested some ROMs with no problem on the flashing), but when I tried to flash the latest I cannot start bootloader.
I did it as usually: connected the x7510 to my PC, checked that active sync was detected the x7510, started x7510Wrapper and follow the steps to flash the ROM. The x7510 rebooted with the tri-color screen and then the white screen with "Loading . . .". Finally RUU loader finished with an error.

Then I tried to reboot my x7510, but it starst againg with Loading screen. I have tried to press camera button while reset, with the same result than if I does not press nothing. I have also tried to remove the battery unsuccessfully. If I press down volumen button while reset it shows the screen to restore factory default, but whatever I do, after reboot it returns to the Loading screen.

What can I do to solve this problem?

hehe dont worry man. it has happened to me a lot of times not only with x7510 but with other devices too. You have forgottent to remove your minisd card. Remove it and the device should enter in bootloader mode normally.

honeyz, just read messages in the beginning of this topic and follow instructions there... First of all you need to flash Hard-SPL (files attached to 1-st message) and then download WWE ROM image (links you can found in early messages) and flash it on your device. Read all comments in topic...

and for the uninitiated, what benefit will i get with the rom please? could be nice to have this in the OP. Back in the day when i used to mod my Wince phones we used to take out all the cack from phone providers to make the phones more stable and usable. Is this what this one does?

Thanks for doing this. I just bought a 7510 last night and was able to change it from Chinese to English. For some reason it doesn't recognize my SIM. It does recognize my Hong Kong SIM and my gf's China Mobile SIM so i think I'll just go to China Mobile and see what's up. i assume you try running sspl-manual.exe on the phone itself. try a hard reset.

do not use other releases PLEASE unless you want to brick the device.

Yes- the XDA Flint is O2 UK's version of the Athena/ X7510, with a few customisations.

I successfully installed the Hard SPL on my Flint, and can now load any relevant ROM.

I have tried this several more times, always with the same outcome. The bootloader screen comes up, then the screen goes grey and says 'loading...' and then the PC RUU reports ERROR [260]: CONNECTION. THE UPDATE UTILITY CANNOT CONNECT TO YOUR PDA PHONE...etc'

As stated previously, the Flint has an O2 ROM.

Hello again.
Following advice I removed the Sandisk microSD adaptor from the miniSD slot in case this was causing the [260] ERROR. I ran the RUU again and this time the device didn't respond to the app at all, and after about 30seconds I get ERROR [202] CONNECTION

I'm wondering if performing a hard reset and then running the RUU will help?

Update. I eventually used the manual option described in post #1 and the ROM flashed successfully. I have now installed Mitchyprima's lite 6.1 ROM with no further problems. Great big thank you to all involved in this project, it is greatly appreciated ;-)

I have been going nuts trying to get this to work on an Ameo 16GB from T-Mobile UK. It looks to me like step 1 of AthenaUnlocker.exe tries to put an ATHE100 SPL on the PDA. I get a blizzard of error messages.

I backed up and ran x7510_HSPL365.exe (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=441684). After a few tries, I got it to run without error messages, but all the version displays look unchanged.

I ran AthenaUnlocker.exe, but cancelled out of step 1. Step 2 appeared to run, but at the end gave an error screen: "ERROR[244]: INVALID MODEL ID. This Update utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your update utility. TND3-AUJH8567-S-AUJH556". It then sent another Athena Unlocker program to the PDA. I chose to do both SIM and CID unlocks. It proceeded without error. However, none of the version numbers in Device Information had changed.

I let it do step 3. It is still SIM-locked.

How can I tell what SPL is currently in it? How can I tell whether it is SIM unlocked or CID unlocked?

It's using PDA Phone ROM Update Utility 3.12.3.3 . It says the current image version is 3.27.405.3 The new image version will be Hard-SPL.

Step 1: when the Bootloader screen comes up, it displays:

ATHE100
IPL-2.02

SPL-Olipro's SSPL


That is before any progress bar.

The display on the PC changes to show a progress bar and "Updating ROM image on your PDA phone." The PDA never shows a progress bar.

Eventually the PC dispays ERROR[260]: CONNECTION and suggests I check the cable and cradle. It gives only an exit button. After exiting, it left the PC in bootloader. It returned to the steps window, and the Athena Debug displays:
SPL Flashed Successfully!

Step 2: also fails, displaying ERROR[260]: CONNECTION

Another try at xacsx's "AthenaUnlocker.exe", but reset the PDA and connnected ActiveSync after step 1.

Step 2: Both the PDA and PC show progress bars, but the PDA resets at about 10% progress, and the PC displays ERROR[244]: INVALID MODEL ID ... TND3-AUJH8567-S-AUJH556

After I click exit the outer program blithely proceeds to send program "Athena Unlocker" (athena_unlock.exe, 294400 bytes, it has an icon saying Olipro Athena Unlocker) to the PDA.

On the PDA, I checked both SIM Unlock and CID Unlock. It ran 2 progress bars, then claimed : "Success! Device SIM locks removed and set to Super CID".

Step 3: the PDA resets at about 10% progress, and the PC displays ERROR[244]: INVALID MODEL ID ... TND3-AUJH8567-S-AUJH556 . The outer program proudly proclaims: "Congratulations, your Athena has been patched! You can close this program now!"
