I did what is instructed and did change the highlight in Startmenu (Large Menu). Look at mine. I noticed that if you add the entries to the registry key "EnlargeTitleBar", it will change the highlight WITHOUT TF3D. But if you add to the correct key (i.e. "EnlargeMenu"), it will change the highlight WITHIN TF3D. I did it wrong initially and got the same result as yours. So, double check.
Edit: The original instruction asks to add the entries to "EnlargeStartMenu" and there's no such key. So, this is why it's a bit confusing. The key should be "EnlargeMenu" (and not "Enlarge TitleBar" or "EnlargeStartMenu"). So, no argue please.

can anyone chime in on how to change the colors in the enlargemenu htc app?
Like the guys above posted, the color codes are only 4digits long, and a hex code doesn't work cause it truncates it and makes the color totally different.

Can anyone help me with the Hex Color Code when ADDING a DWORD string???
There were a couple posts here of people successfully doing it, but no answers on what actual code was used.
Example.... When you add DWORD string to HKLM/Software/HTC/EnlargeMenu it only uses a specific code. My original Hex Color code is 070798 (blue), but when put in this string it drops the zero and doesn't work. I then tried the three digit Hue color code, but the color comes out totally different.

As G.J explains here the order in these registry keys are inverse. I used 0080C0 for my blue color and the outcome was a deep yellow but when i changed the value to C08000 the color went blue. I hope this will solve your problem:)

Hi Moukis,
Thanks for all of the effort you put in to resolve this.
I noticed that many of the folk are trying to get a Dark Blue Highlight, here are the steps in one post, thanks to the work of Moukis, bbju and SuperPC, and the others who gave positive input.
How to set the Selector Bar in Large Start Menu to Dark Blue
Create the following DWORD values in HKLM/Software/HTC/EnlargeMenu/ :-
ManilaCustomHLUp and ManilaCustomHLDown, both with FF0000 hex value, that should change enlarge start menu to Dark Blue
Moukis had a problem setting this and after searching around he found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4&postcount=72
He found here that the order in these registry keys are inverse. I used 0000FF for my dark blue color and the result was a dark pink but when I changed the value to FF0000 the color went dark blue.
Hope this helps sum it up in one posting.

ok, the start menu and the taskmanager works, but how to change the highlight color of windows mobile itself? Like when you are in settings and click phone, there the default fugly green is visible again..... Any way to fix that? I hope it's not fiddling in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\SysColor.
Cuz that part i haven't figured out yet, too many similar numbers/letters in one file/key....

I am very interested in doing something like this. I got the large menu color to blue, but I am looking to change all of the highlight colors. I.E when you select something, like the clock or any of the menu's it is highlighted green. I would like to turn it blue, but a lighter blue more like the blue you see on windows vista etc. "electric Blue" i guess is what you would call it.
Has anybody made any advancements on figuring this out? I was playing with it last night, I found a hex to decimal converter and tried converting the hex to dec, reversing the hex then convert it to dec, converting regular hex then reversing the dec. I wound up getting red quite often, and purple once, then when i thought i figured it out, it went back to green. Right now i have gotten it to blue by changing the reg to hex and putting in FF0000 for both of them, which is the backwards hex for blue (normally 0000FF). I will mess with it some more when I get home from work. Hopefully somebody can help me out, I am decent with windows registry, but this is the first time ever getting a smartphone, let alone one with windows mobile on it.
Great phone after tweaking it a bit, I just want to change the highlight colors and some of the icons to a more fancy blue look.
Hope somebody can help!!
Thanks,
Merc.

UPDATE**
Found the little bugger.
Thanks to mouki_9 for pointing out the Syscolor registry link.
I noticed that the green color's hex was 5A A2 00. Going off of that I took a gander in the Syscolor link (HKLM\system\GWE\syscolor) Note: you have to click on GWE then it is a registry link named Syscolor inside of it.
Edit it and look for the line with 5A A2 00, I switched it to 00 66 B3 which is a decent colored blue. After a soft reset, Viola!!
Pic's...
Note this does not change the highlight color of the large menu, I am still working on that. It does however change the highlight of everything else, including the landscape start menu highlight color.

Ok It is not an exact science yet, but I have the jist of what is happening.
This is for the Raphael by the way, incase its different (dont know still a newb). :p
Anyways. So far what I have figured out for the Enlarged Main menu, is that it does not go off of the reversed number of your hex code, which is what some of us thought. It seems like instead, it goes off the INVERTED COLOR.
I tested this by going into photoshop, going to the color pallete and putting in the color 0066B3 which is a very nice blue (not too dark not too light) imho.
I then filled the layer with that color then went to Image>Adjustments>invert. Or CTRL I. This turned it into a bright orange with the hex of FF994C. I tried that hex (the one for orange) in the phone... and guess what!!!
It turned BLUE. :D However it did NOT turn the same blue as 0066B3 is, instead it turned to a lighter blue.
All and all I am still tweaking with this to see if we can get this down to a science of finding what color we want precisely. For right now I am happy with a lighter blue then no blue at all..
Merc.
PICS.....
EDIT************* WOOO.. Ok so, it takes a little bit of work but you can get almost your exact color (based off of how good your eyes are).
Step 1. Go to this website http://www.2createawebsite.com/build/hex-colors.html and find out what color you want your menu to be.
Step 2. Using PHM Registry Editor Navigate to HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu.
Step 3. Scroll down to ManilaCustomHLDown and ManilaCustomHLUp Edit them with the color you want. Make sure you select Hexidecimal as the value. This will give you the opposite color.
Step 4. If you dont have it download My Mobiler for your phone. This is a great program that lets you view your phone on your computer!!! Linky: http://blownfuze.org/ (Thank you Doug you rock) Scroll down the page its under the Basic apps and Tweaks section.
Step 5. Go back to the hex-color website, with My Mobiler up and running close out of the registry editor if you havent allready. click on your start menu. Now the opposite color should be seen. (this is were good eyes come in) Try to match up the color of the menu, with the hex-color website as best as possible. Once your finished jot down that hex for the color.
Step 6. Go back into the Registry editor and put in this new Hex. The opposite color should come up... which... (depending again on your eyes) Should be damn close to the color you were looking for.
Hope this helps somebody out!!

The cabs found in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498420) change most of the colours talked about in this thread.
They were written for the TF3D 2 but I've just tried it on the original TF3D and it seems to work without a hitch.

HKCU/software/microsoft/today/HTC Black.tsk
change "Color_Highlight" value to 1F14BC (HEX)
HKLM/software/microsoft/color
change "33" and "34" values to1F14BC (HEX)
change "BaseHue" value to 397 (decimal) (babyblue window)
this gives you blue
Does anyone know how to do these reg entries in a cab install? I do hard resets regularly and changing them over and over gets a bit frustrating. No other .tsk with blue highlights works as good as the HTC Black.tsk with these changes on my phone. Thanks!

I have my favorite colors and other registry settings in a huge file that I import with the TRE registry editor (http://www2r.biglobe.ne.jp/~tascal/download/pocketpc/tre_e.htm). This works fine. Another possibility is to check whether you could use a ROM with UC (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337).

Do you have it as a text file and then imported? Is the formatting the same as a .reg file inside windows?

Yup! You can export the current state as a .reg file with TRE and then edit it to your needs (preferably on your desktop computer). Here's a small extract of mine:
REGEDIT4
; End programs with X
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager]
"EnableTapAndHold"=dword:00000000
; Switch off 3G
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\UMTS]
"OpMode"=dword:00000001
; Deactivate charging while connected via USB
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Battery]
"EnableUSBCharging"=dword:00000000
