Hej,

I recently bought a HTC Touch Cruise on eBay. There was an issue with the phone and because the seller did not send the invoice with it I tried to flash my phone. However, the phone broke while flashing it. It may have a mainboard damage like a (non-htc) repair center told me. Now I can provide the invoice and contacted HTC for GWS (Global Warranty Service). In there mail they had following sentence:

Secondly, you may consider HTC Global Warranty Service. To proceed, you will have to pay all the delivery charges and an extra checking fee. (The exact amount differs a little bit.) In case the symptom is caused by misusing or mishandling, there would be repair charges as well.
The regions below could provide GWS.

Now, will they know that I flashed my phone and void warranty? Or is there no way to prove that this damage is caused through flashing?

I hope anyone can help me because I don't know if I shall send it away.

Regards,
Kon

Edit: the problem the phone has at the moment is that I can't even boot the phone. I tried the freezer - no way ;) It can not be started anymore...

yep, you bricked your PDA... and is identifiable as a cause of mishandling so your warranty is gone with it... you may want to try search for unbricking methods...

Thx for this quick reply! Yes, I bricked it. But I did not know there is hope to
get it working again by myself. Never heard about unbricking it. I will google it but if you have further information for me feel free to post them. Id appreciate it!
