D-pad controls in games?

Hello xda dev members, I was wondering if some of you could help me with the following.
On my Diamond I recently installed PocketGBA, and I'm having problems finding a good way to setup the d-pad buttons (left, right, up, down). Up and down aren't a problem but left and right are, seeing theres not really any hardware buttons for that around the circle.

I'm guessing this could also be a problem with other apps/games. Does anyone have a suggestion on that buttons to use or on how to set this up?

tis a problem, i have given up with the d-pad, only play games with on-screen controls :)

Thanks for your reply, however I dont exactly want to give up on PocketGBA :P

Is there anyone out there who found a useful setup for this? To make it playable? Most of the controls can be placed on screen, except for the d-pad. Which I guess would be a pain to use when on screen anyway..

If anyone knows of a way, please let me know. Thanks.
