Hello all,
I just got my Treo a week ago, and sucessfully got M2D running on it Thursday using the package found here. (Without RealVGA),
But I noticed on the way home yesterday I lost HSPDA and the phone would only connect to 3G. I also couldn't switch bands from the Phone settings. So last night I hardreset and started over, and this time I did not install the HTC Task Manager from the package since the Pro ships with its own version. Didn't install Google Maps either in favor of the version in the Pro's ROM.
End result is the Phone settings are back to normal, I can switch bands and it connects to HSPDA. But, I don't have the Task Manager as a part of TouchFLO, I have to get it from Windows itself. Any way around that?
Thanks for any help.

Excellent! our own forum.
First off the M2D installation instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2840311.
This is a very clean install of the HTC Diamond interface and works great with the 320x320 resolution. The contributors there have been VERY responsive and helpful.
Second, if you install M2D you should also take a look at KaiserTweak or AdvancedConfig: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserTweak. BOth have ways to speed up the TouchFLO interface that make the experience much better.
Third, check often and update M2DC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392&page=79. It will make your experience with M2D much better.
Last, I've been getting a Windows error the past few days that says, "A problem has occurred with filesys.exe." I've searched xda and find references to the error but can not find a resolution. Does anyone else experience this and have you any fixes? The issue may arise from M2D or from Opera 9.5 Beta (which I also highly recommend).
I've upgraded to a Treo Pro from an HTC Kaiser. A nice phone, but compared to the Treo Pro a real clunker. However, many people have done banner work around making the HTC Windows Mobile experience much better than Microsoft has. Check out thier good work as well but be careful - our screens are square 320x320 and most everything in the kaiser forum fits on a kaiser screen.
Thanks for creating a seperate forum for the Treo Pro (a.k.a., HTC Panther).

What an awesome post. This is why this forum was needed. Now I have touchflo working perfect on my phone. The only problem is flick scrolling no longer works! I downloaded FtouchSL and it works like a charm. Only problem is it isnt compatible with the HTC Touch Flo. Anyone know a way to add flick scrolling to internet explorer, and messages that works with M2D?

Since posting this, I've also installed RealVGA 96dpi found in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443385. I thought I had the best of everything then I saw what 320x320 really looks like.
I've also seen a reply to this original post noting that "My Favs" were missing. I've not experienced this in either IE (which I NEVER use any more) or Opera. In opera, you'll find your IE favs by touching the star in the opera menu bar at the bottom of the screen. That's my experience anyway.

I have installed with some issues:
I can't seem to make the weather app work, is there something else I need to install (sorry if this a noobie question) and also the launch application tab does not seem to work, I try to add apps just like in the quick dial tab and nothing happens.. also the google map search is not working.. any ideas? I followed the instructions but it does not seem to be working..
any tips would be appreciated, also if you happen to have an unbraded rom in english, it would be very helpful!

If you are running this setup of M2D with RealVGA at 96dpi, use the files in steps 2,3 and 4 from the link below to get everything scaled properly to the screen. Plus you get a nice blue theme color :)

Found the blue theme. Works very nicely on my Treo Pro @ 96dpi. Are there other themes available here for 320x320? In particular, I'd like a dark orange, dark red & all black (or black & charcoal).

Over time, I have updated the files to customize m2d with RealVGA 96dpi on my Treo Pro. I have included my Step 3 of the install for the Treo Pro. Included is the Flip Clock, resized the location tab map images to fill the screen, and the HTCHomeSettings.xml has been updated to work with the new builds of m2d. I only take credit for finding what I wanted and making it all work.

This is excellent work. Thank you very much. This fixes some issues I mentioned in earlier posts in this thread with the mail screen and was easy to install. Let's keep this Treo Pro thread active!

For step 3, should I just be copying these files into the window directory? I could of course just run a sprite backup to be safe first but I am just curious.

A backup first is always good. Copy the Step 3 folder to your Storage Card. Stop M2D from Settings-Today-Items, by deselecting TouchFLO. Copy the files from the Step 3 folder to the Windows directory, and overwrite the existing files. Enable TouchFLO again, and that should be it.

Thanks

And thats the problem, its not working on a dutch version. You need to flash it to WWE Rom. Before the pro, I have owned a HP 614. Had the same problem, but after flashing to WWE, i was able to install M2D

This is probably a dumb question, but I can be good at those. :-) Am I correct in assuming that the present M2D configuration would be "permanently" changed by Step Three, so that any other M2D themes would no longer function as designed? If so, is there a utility or batch process to switch the xml stuff so that both versions work?

Got another question. I'm using the VJ workaround to access a browser on the Internet tab & it works well. Is there a way to get the home page link to access an alternate calendar? I use SBSH's Touch Calendar, but the Home tab's calendar link accesses the default calendar.

If you mean hitting number keys while on the today screen & going directly into the dialer, no. No one seems to have come up with a fix. Since hitting the "send" button, then dialing numbers works, it's not something I really miss.

You'll need to use this to patch it. Instructions are in that thread as well:

Hi guys, I've just finished tweaking my treo pro with new skinz and using better big Icons and tab icons (More Microsoftish). The tab buttons are smaller so you don't have to worry about changing the resolution. I also kept the flip digital clock. I'm going to post pics and video of just what mine has later, but for now I thought I'd share the complete package. HTCHOMESettings is included so you shouldn't have to do anything but drop into your device Windows directory. Hope it works for you:
P.S. I thought you may also like to have fun with your contacts tab and add some nintendo mii familliar faces
P.S.S. Unfortunately, the upload keeps failing. Does anyone know how I can upload this package to share?

The orig file was .rar and the server didn't like it. I've broken it down into 3 2 parts. M2d1 has all of the .png files. M2d2 has all of the Bitmaps and the .xml for HTC Home Settings. The last file is just for fun.

The above post has 3 diamond themes that display very well on the Treo Pro at 96dpi. Download them from the "Step 4" and apply them with Manilla 2D Customizer found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2657020&postcount=1
I would recommend using Manilla 2D Customizer to backup your current settings and theme, before applying one of these.
There are also some other themes recently added to the i780 link at the top, that seem to work well with some minor graphical issues.

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing. I installed and the screen behaves funny. As I glide my thumb across the home tabs, the screen images got truncated, most of the time is unrecoverable... half the home tab icons are also behind behind the softkeys toolbars. Also tried installing RealVGA 96dpi, manage to resize it correctly but the screen truncation still existing... worse call in does not ring!!! Don't like 96dpi anyway cos the fonts are super tiny... Unless ther are way to incread font size.
Need advice...:)

Hello all. I installed M2D to the book (or thread). I am using with RealVGA 96 dpi and it looks great. :D I have total functionality in all of my tabs except the Internet tab.
The Internet, You Tube, and XDA-Developers launchers do nothing. I have Opera Mobile browser 9.5 loaded to my device. I can launch it from the Programs tab, but would like to utilize my Internet tab.
Any one else experience this? Any suggestions?
