Hello! Yesterday I have changed my ROM from Button 1.5.4.2 (I bought the PDA with this version) to Qtek official ROM 2.17.7.2. Also with this ROM came 02.07.10 radio version. From what I understand, the radio version is also responsable for battery consumption.
My problem is that the battery is draining very fast when I am using wireless (I have connected the Qtek 2 times to my laptop, transfered 5-6 MB through wireless and browsed my laptop's share folder from 16:22 to 16:34 = 12 minutes; wireless set to BEST BATTERY, laptop's wireless usb adapter was 10 cm away and the battery meter was showing 47%. After finishing, the battery meter was showing 34% = 13% less power), compared to the previous radio version ( I wasn't very interested in exact battery consumption because it didn't seem a problem; I was browsing internet for 25-30 minutes, wireless power set to BEST RECEPTION, signal was 25% and the battery was showing between 26-30%. After I finished browsing, the battery was 7% = 19-23% les power).
I think this is a problem. With the old radio version, the wireless was draining less battery than my new radio version, given the circumstances that with the old radio the wireless was set to maximum power and the time I used it was twice as long as it was used with the new radio.
I remembered something: last night I tried to connect Qtek with another laptop through wireless with new radio installed (Qtek wireless set to BEST BATTERY). I tried to browse shared folders in that laptop an verified if the internet connection was shared to wireless. It took me maximum 5 minutes. Initially, the battery was 97% or 93% (I don't remember exactly) and then it was showing 88%. I tried the same thing 2 weeks ago with the old radio, but for a longer time...10 minutes or 15; the battery was 5-8% less.
The differences between the 2 radio version are big when using wireless. If I don't use wireless, but browse phone, use a program or simply it stays in stand-by, the new radio is better.
Can you please give me a better radio version that isn't draining so much battery with wireless?
Thank you very much!
