Hi all!,
I've been trying to avoid posting a thread like this for an age, so my apologies first and fore most! :o
I've been using Schap's WM6 pro 4.20 ROM since release. I LOVE the stability of it; where as other ROMS I've tried needed a hard reset after about a month Schap's is like the energiser bunny, it just keeps going and going and going and going... :D
Do you guys in your infinite wisdom know of any ROMs that can compete with 4.20? I'm not particularly bothered with bells and whistles as these can be installed later.
Thanks for your help and sorry again!

well .... what works for some may not work for others so the only way unfortunately is to try, and you have come to the right place! Try each one DVH, Josh, Abusalza, CRCinAU all great chefs, you need to work out what works for you unfortunately.

As I said many times, we don't know what you do behind closed doors with your hermes, and even outdoors for that matter!

CRC's stuff rocks. I personally switched to JoshKoss v10. All the chefs here work their a$$es off to make them as stable as possible, but I love these chefs ROMS.

That's why I sent my apologies in advance. :p

I REALLY cut down on time spent on this board after schaps started his hiatus. I used to flash ROMs regularly, weekly almost, I just lost touch with things. I know that a choice of ROM is very much an individual thing so thanks for the heads up on the newer chefs out there.

Cheers man! I'll give these suggestions a try. :)

One more question. If a rom is only available as a Windoze .exe file, what is the best way to slay the .exe to extract the internals so I can flash from my heratical Linux box. Saying use Windoze is not much help as I've already been consumed by the dark art of Linus Torvalds and don't have an M$ box!

Cheers, Dave

Just make sure your phone is super cid unlocked, and put the RUU_signed.nbh file on an sd card and rename it hermimg.nbh.

Here are all the details,

Unlocking: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_SimUnlock

Flash from SD: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_SDCardFlashing

As for busting open a rom in exe form I'm not sure, especially on linux. If your wanting to do that with the shipped rom, there is one floating around already called AT&T striped.

Hope that helps :)
