IMEI Number changing after flashing ROM

I have noticed that the IMEI number (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMEI) that is supposed to be unique to each mobile device keeps changing after I flash a new cooked ROM (mainly from Garmin and Hyperdragon's ROMs).
I keep track of the "device information" and "about" settings in the system information every time I flash. Is this normal?

If you are referring to last 2 digits (i.e. 01 or 02), you should ignore them. Actual IMEI is reported by the first 13 characters starting from the left.

Thanks for the clarification; you are correct the last two digits are the only ones changing.
