My provider (Telstra AU) uses UMTS 850 Mhz for their NextG network.
I've always wondered why my coverage was garbage.
Now I realise that my Atom Life has no access to the 850mhz band - only 1900 and 2100.
Is this a hardware level restriction, or are there updated ROMs etc that will allow me to use the 850mhz network?

Anyone has the answer to that?
I too like to know if there is a way to enable the 850 band for either 3G or GSM.
I have an old duel band phone that i was able to turn in to a quad ban with just a new flash, so that makes me wonder if it is possible with this phone as well.

Would be nice because with 850/1900 umts you would also be able to use it with AT&T and Rogers in NA.
