Hey everyone. I figured this might be a good place to go with this since everyone in here knows how much of a pain in the butt it is to download ROMs from those upload sites. Anyways, I have some extra webspace that I'd be willing to put up for use for people to upload CABs and ROMs to.

Has this been tried before? If not, would people actually use this? I would make an FTP account for everyone to use, and then developers could make their own folders and put their ROMs and CABs in there.

It might not be much, but it would be me giving back to the XDA community. If any chefs want to test it out for speed and such, let me know in this thread or in a PM and I'll get an FTP account made up along with a subdomain or something.

I have 1.5TB of disk space and 15TB of transfer per month. All of... 200MB of transfer is used. So I think I can handle hosting a couple ROMs. :)

Thanks for the offer, a lot of people offer mirrors by uploading cooked ROM's to there webspace / storage area and posting a mirro (like so (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2836230#post2836230)), normally the chef's then add the link to the first post.

I suggest you do this. And maybe add a link in your signature to the repository.

A lot of foreign users and office folk will apperciate your efforts, as the common storage sites are banned in thier country / office)

Once up and running I'll drop me a PM and I'll add it to the FAQ Sticky post for you.
